Lousy reception
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed this in my home in a corner bedroom. Salesman said that this should work fine in a 3500 sq. ft. home. It did not. I had to constantly re-boot it. Had to buy another router that now works great in my home.

not what I expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this due to having so many devices connecting to the internet in the house. The hope was that it would be a little faster but it's actually slower than the smaller netgear modem we had before

Uneasy to install
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not an easy device to install as a replacement for the current wireless router I have. My computer does not locate the new router in order to install this easily. I spent hours trying to install this device even with going on the website for the product and downloading the manual. It is currently still not installed and I am still using the old router that this one was to replace.

Worked great after other failures
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased this after several failed units from Linksys. The equivalent Linksys N900 router did not have the range and would frequently drop signal, the USB printer functionality was also hit or miss. I have used Linksys in the past because of good performance but have now become a Netgear convert. This router was easy to set up. Even though I didn't need to, I followed the directions for setup and had everything (i.e. the whole house) up and running within half an hour. Not only is the range great, but the performance at range is also great. I was able to stream 4 HD feeds with no problem. My only complaint is that for the USB shared printer to work you have to have another process running in the background. This could be a pain if you forget to start it up, or if someone unfamiliar with the process tries to print with the setup. This is really the only thing that I would change. Other than that it is a great router. I see no need to even think about wireless C right now.

Best of the best
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This one just snaps on my modem and it automatically configured itself, after that i just changed the name and passwords for my network and my guest network. Never had to do any power cycle even though 3 of us are watching online videos using wireless at the same time. My house is 2 levels and every corner had full signal even the attic. I used a Dlink and a tplink for the past 7 years and they were all great, no drops in connection and no overheating but this one is the fastest of all the routers I used when it comes to wireless.

Gets the networking job done
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Netgear N900 replaced a 2 yr old Belkin N600 that started dropping connections. The N900 gets me -60dBm signal or less throughout my 3000 ft 2 story home, an improvement on the old N600. That means I get a GOOD signal everywhere in the house and a few feet outside. It was easy to setup and configure to my liking. Both 2,4 and 5GHz bands are strong and fast. And now my wired network is completely gigabyte, Hopefully it will last more than two years for the additional cost.

Nice Router if you can find a working one!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Review is intended for all consumers that are frustrated and ready to give up on this product. After you read this, you will feel much better about your own situation, I promise. Here it comes: My old router is also a Netgear N Router, Model WNR3500 and had no problems at all. But I was looking for an upgrade because I was reading about the nice features that have been added to newer models such as Guest networks, USB Printer and Storage support, Dual band etc. So I went to Best Buy and picked one up. Installation should be quick and easy since I have done this many times before. Indeed I had Internet connection in no time without any problems, started to customize and to set up all peripherals. Then the big shock, two out of the four Gigabit Ports are not working at all, so I change, plug and unplug things around and clearly port two and port three are dead! The very next day I went back and exchanged that router for a new one. For this I had to drive into another City since the local Best Buy had no more in stock. Very optimistic I returned home and started over, just to discover that this router is also not working as it should. No Internet connection and a continuously flashing power indicator. So finally I called Netgear Customer Support, India answered the phone and we got nowhere other than an apology and the comment that I should return this device since it is clearly broken. I drove the next day back to the same Best Buy that still had 5 Routers in stock and exchanged it for the second time, unbelievable. At this time I am not only frustrated, now I am mad as, you know!. I call myself now Lucky, because persistence paid off in my case. Besides the wasted time, gas money and the unsuccessful phone call, I got the THIRD router to work and so far I am very pleased as it seems that the product delivers what was promised and advertised by Netgear. A final word to the Netgear Quality Management Team, it is fine with me that you import your stuff from China like many other tech companies, but you should have always an “eye” on the quality and rest assure, the next time I will simply buy from your competitors rather than experience something similar ever again.
