I was experiencing dropout and disconnection issues whilst having multiple computers, smart-phones, and streaming media devices all at once connected to my old router. So streaming a movie and playing online games was a frustrating experience, even though my connectivity averages 18Mbps. The N900 was the router I selected to replace my old one. What a difference. It was easy to setup (using the existing firmware, although I may try another open source version sometime), and easy to secure. I also grabbed the "Genie" application that gives some metrics, and shows connected devices etc. The experience has been positive, with no service disruptions, no downtime, and consistently high throughput. Plus it looks pretty cool too.

Its a nice router. the range is great, speeds are improved from the last version. my devices connect quickly. friendly web interface. this device is a bit on the expensive side ($179) also you cant mount this to the wall. i still recommend.

I love this router. It's provided a very stable connection to all of my wifi-enabled electronics throughout a 3,000 square foot home. The speeds are awesome. Having the 5 Ghz option allows my desktop to be on the network for gaming without interfering with all the other equipment that uses the 2.4 Ghz connection. The only problem I've had with it (since updating the firmware) is that it died when our cable box got struck by lightning and it stopped broadcasting wifi. What can you really do about a lightning strike, though, except do your best to protect with a proper surge protector. Overall, though, I would recommend this for anyone looking to fill a home with wifi! It's great!

This product was purchased to replace an 18 month old Linksys E3000. The Linksys product only had a year warranty period which was the main reason I was looking for a different brand. The Netgear has a lifetime warranty. Positives: Simple Install Good wireless range and throughput Parental controls Guest network Lifetime Warranty QoS and Wifi multimedia support Firmware update directly from the internet Negatives: Make sure that you always apply settings even after you ok a change (not intuitive) When you apply settings it resends the entire config, not just changes, so applying config updates is a slow process Parental controls requires outside program and website use No SNMP monitoring No switchport bonding LACP No ability to have a mac address denial list, only an inclusion list No external antenna support

While a bit on the pricey side, this router is fantastic. Easy to set up, easy to use, and all the features you could ever hope to have in a device of this kind. The software that comes with the router keeps you informed of how many devices are using your service, complete with any device names you may have assigned during setup, and it informs you when traffic is high or the signal dips. It's very low maintenance, but the info is there and easy to find if you want it. This is a great choice if you're looking to setup a wi-fi in your home. I've never setup a wireless router before this one and we were up and running within minutes. Highly recommended. :)

I upgraded from an old dLink DIR-655 router that had finally failed. I use this router to connect my desktop, 3 laptops, an Asus tablet, PS3, PSP, NAS box and two smart phones in WiFi mode. I now have full 5 bars of signal strength everywhere in my home. Transfer speeds to and from my NAS box are awesome. Wish I would have had this unit years ago. Haven't moved my USB printer from the destop to the router, but that's next on the list. You get what you pay for and this router is terrific.

After purchasing and returning the Belkin N600 F9K1102 (didn't play nice with our iPhones/iPod Touches) I went with the N900 and haven't looked back. Versatile, fast and the range is great - reaches all corners of our bi-level home and the unit is located on the lower floor. The built in parental controls are great - yes, you can open an OpenDNS account with a lot of other routers, but this one has the controls built in which makes it easier. The USB port is great - hooked up an external drive and now I have central storage for documents, media files etc. Yes, it's a little pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for.

Fast and reliable. All my devices run without any hiccups. Replaced an older Netgear N router. Once plugged in, I configured it to use my previous network name and not the suggested name. Doing so let all my devices connect seamlessly without having to do anything to them.

Just exactly what we needed. Great features and great range. Easy to setup. Wanted to test range out of the box but it would not transmit signal until it was hooked up to a computer. Not a huge problem.

Awesome. Took a whole five minutes to swap out my old router. Super fast upgrading from my five year old Lynksys. Gigabit is gigawesome! Home theater firmware updates take seconds. Using cable Internet with 24 mps service. Wireless everything works now. The old router would get overloaded with our 3 computers, 4 iPhones, 1 iPad, home theater, and home office. Now it all works.

This router is easy to install and doesn't stop workiing. It never needs to be rebooted. I thought the price was a little high but it has been well worth it.

This was easy to install and has performed better then my previous Linksys. The only issue I have is it's limited USB disk support.

The Netgear N900 Dual Band Wireless N Router performs very well!

This is an upgrade from our N300 Netgear wireless router which was a perfectly capable device but with our digital demand in the house increasing by the minute, we needed a router that could handle our needs deftly. Download speeds BEFORE: 22 mb/s AFTER : 34 mb/s This is going from the N300 to the N900. Big difference. The N900 is the easiest router I've EVER set up. Seriously, just follow the instructions, and you'll be online again in minutes. PRO-TIP: Do a soft reboot of the router after you've connected every eternet cable and configured all of your WiFi devices.

Finally excellent performance from a Netgear router. Easy installation and ability to set up networks based on bandwidth.

Install is easy and painless. Coverage is great, is covers the house with full bars it's awesome. Remember to lock it or your neighbors will use it.

I am so happy with this purchase. It is so much faster than my old modem, or any other wireless I've used. I highly recommend it. We use it to download movies to our smart TV's (as well as our laptops) & its great. Super range as well

Router was so easy to set up. Immediately we had much more coverage and speed than with our previous router. The parental controls are a great feature for anyone with kids! I have already recommended to family and friends.

I have always been impressed with NETGEAR products. I made the mistake of purchasing another companies product due to a few dollars savings and returned it due to poor performance. I learned my lesson and returned it for the NETGEAR product and I am extremely happy with that decision. I am a NETGEAR . owner for life!
