Intuitive, easy to set up and to reset when needed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router was recommended to be by both Best Buy store reps and by IT and tech friends -- for good reason. I bought it when changing IPs, rather than renting or buying from the provider. It was a good choice.

Good price and performance.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced the router I used for three years with this one. I was having trouble with a neighbors router interfering. Now I don't have trouble with that. The 5 ghz is great. Super easy to set up and use.

Would Not work out of the box
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this router to get more range and performance than the router i received from my ISP. Reading the reviews I though I would take a chance. Bottom line is that this product was a complete waste of a day. The firmware that came with this was corrupted from the beginning. No matter what I did to it, the router would not work (could not connect to it at all). So I returned it and purchased the 6200 instead and works great. Couldn't have been happier with my purchase now.

Died after 17 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this largely on the reputation of Netgear and user reviews. After over a year of it dropping connections multiple times every day, crashing every time I turned on the microwave, and not getting decent signal strength to stream to my Roku in my bedroom, I installed the latest firmware update. Viola! No more dropped connections, and connection would return after microwave use ended. This lasted for about a month.... then the whole unit died. Out of warranty, of course. Not happy.

Excellent router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to install. It does everything for you. No software to load. Its running Direct TV, 2 laptops and my desktop without any issues. A little pricey but worth it in the end.

Easy to install, excellent range
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an old home with lathe and plaster walls. The thin wire inside the walls seemed to interfere with the less powerful routers. This router solved all of my problems. Also, installation was extremely simple, took 5 minutes!

Very nice router, easy setup and very stable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The router worked out of the box. I had to update the firmware as soon as I plugged it in, but after that I setup the security and it has been working ever since.

Worked good until ...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good signal and easy to install. However, the unit completely stopped working after only 7 months! Something about the firmware being corrupted. After many, many emails back and forth with Netgear support, finally got return manufacturers authorization from Netgear. I had to pay the return postage and send the package by a shipping option that was traceable. The new router hooked up effortlessly. Hope this one last 7 years (not 7 months) like my original router.

Replacement Netgear router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This replaces another Netgear router that lasted 5 years. The first one just died. The new one is even better in performance in the same location and the same equipment. That is all there is to it.

So Far! So Good!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The product has treated me well. I also upgraded my modem to Docsis 3.0(Comcast) ,and no problems so far also it runs pretty cool. The U.S.B inputs are a nice touch, but at least they could have been 3.0 since that will become the standard (for the price the router cost), and also Netgear is coming with a new router with hard drive built-in sounds pretty epic.... but all and all i'm satisfied with this router and will have it many years to come unless it crashes!! Stay tuned!!..... Oh also connecting in Dead spots know is really easy unlike with my Old realiable Linksys WRT54g router with DD-WRT (May you rest in peace for If I shall call on you again old friend I want you up and ready!! :-) )

So far, so good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read other reviews that claim this unit has better range than the dual-band Linksys. That seems to be true.

Great but didn't solve my problem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was having issues with streaming Netflix using my Samsung Blu-Ray player's built-in wireless-G connection so I thought increasing the bandwidth by replacing it with a wireless-N would resolve the issue. I was wrong. It turns out the Samsung Blu-Ray player has issues streaming Netflix even if it was wired to the network. That said, the router is great. I just plugged it in and it worked. I even purchased the Netgear Universal WiFi Adapter WNCE2001 and it connected flawlessly using their "Push N Connect" feature.

Easy setup, multiple USB
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup easily, automatically detected proper IP class for our network. The USB printer share feature sets this apart from others with similar speed and features. One can plug a USB printer directly into the router, then using the Netgear printer share utility, share the printer on multiple computers directly through the router. No extra equipment. Usually sharing a USB-only printer requires attachment to another computer, which must be on in order to be printed to.

Does not work properly with wireless ac cards
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The unit does not let wireless ac cards utilize their full potential. I have 3 laptops on my network ... 2 old ones with n-network cards and 1 new one with ac-network card. The n-networks did fine with my 50 mbps internet speed, but the ac-network card laptop topped out at 15mbps. I called netgear and they were pretty much useless in determining the cause or reason for this odd behavior, so I returned the unit for a linksys model. The linksys model performs as expected.
