Is being used to protect wifi in son's dorm room at college.

Excellent router with good signal strength throughout large home. Had to call customer service to connect smart TV, but they resolved the issue on the first call, and called me back 30 minutes later to confirm that solution was effective.

This router is a good unit for the money. It is easy to install-no software, just hook it up and go. I have had 2 laptops, a wireless blue-ray and a smart phone in use at the same time with no problems. The connection is very fast.

Overall I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good router at a good price. However, if you aren't a computer geek, you might want to get one to install it for you and to teach you how to get the most of your purchase.

Bundled gear through a service provider, such as cable, can be fairly subpar. The wireless router i have through my cable company seems to struggle even when only two devices are connected, at times knocking one device off, or at least stalling out. not much fun, if say, you're playing a game online, and someone else is messing around on their iPad. This router appears to handle multiple devices without any hiccups, and maintains a stable connection. In my case, because the router and modem are the same device from the cable company, i just needed to run the ethernet cable into port one of the cable router, and make sure no devices were connecting to the old router from the cable company. Though this isn't exactly how the instructions indicate, it's a solution that's worked so far.

I bought this router because of the ability to do quality of service (QOS) where you prioritize VOIP data packets. The quality of my phone calls using NetTalk improved significantly. The setup was easy and straight forward. The parental controls are flexible and uses my open DNS account so I can filter the Internet websites people have access to.. The Open DNS interface with the router is seamless. I can also control when the kids have access to the Internet by inputting the MAC address of their devices and setting time limits, like no surfing after 10pm on school night. Wifi coverage in my 4000 sq ft house is good. Overall very pleased.

Worked well for most, but not enough for streaming games.
