I had the small netgear.wireless router. It really worked well. I use my WiFi with my smartphone and Bluetooth headset in my back yard while using my wood splitter. I would often loose signal if I moved to far away my window. However I recently replaced it with the new router. Wow. I can't believe the distance I can walk from my house and still stream my music on my dsl. I am very happy with this product. It is worth the money.

Works great, easy to get up and running. We were having trouble because we had way to many things trying to access our Gateway router. This took care of our problem beautifully. Even when 4 or 5 of my son's friends come over and they all jump on the WiFi, we still don't have problems. I also like the fact that I was able to set them up with their own channel and own password so it doesn't effect me when I try to use the connection.

I originally purchased a Belden to pair with my Verizon DSL modem and it kept going offline conflicting with the modem. I took it back with no problems at Best Buy and paid the extra for the Netgear. The Netgear installed quickly and reconfigured itself automatically not to conflict with the DSL modem. I have had no problems and great performance. It has dual band so I can shoose which network has better range and performance and also allows me to set up a Guest account for visitors to access the network. My only complaint is that the 5G could have better range, and it is at the higher end of the price range for routers. All and all I am very pleased with this Netgear router.

Used the genie installation, but initially could not get internet connection. After several attempts at that, I called my internet provider. Come to find out, they needed to add my new router to their system. Anyone with broadtrak wireless should be sure to call their ip upon installation and this should save time on it, otherwise it may not work initially...It's up and running and no problems have I found so far.

Perfect router for the cost. Range is comparable to other dual band routers, and speed is great.

The representatives in the store where we purchased our computer equipment were very helpful with steering my husband and I in the right direction for the type of wireless router to fit our needs. The quality of the Netgear product is awesome and the coverage for the larger apartment we reside in is very adequate. We are very satisfied thus far with the product performance and the sleek design & look is a definite plus!

I bought this to replace my two year old N700 series router and I couldn't be happier. The set up on it was a extremely easy and it also gives you the link for the free Netgear App for your phone and/or computer. This lets you see all devices that are accessing your network, check signal strength, and lets you block and un-block any of the devices access. I live in a two level house with the basement making it a pseudo tri-level and I've got strong signal coverage in every room including the basement. You just can't go wrong with this product!

Glad I paid a few extra dollars for this router. It's very stable with several devices attached to it in a large house - Apple devices, wired and wireless Windows 7 computers, NAS disk drive, smart TV, smart blue ray player... Easy and quick set-up on both bands as well as guest accounts on both bands. I can print from our iPads using native print commands via the air printer simulator incorporated in the router. Smooth 1080p video play streaming from out 3tb NAS drive - jumpy before new router. Consequently, I was able to put all of our pictures and 1080p videos (primarily from digital camera) on the NAS drive and access them from any device on the network because I can now view/play them without issues. It has not only dramatically improved our home network, but it allowed me to make changes to the way I store and access our media because of the increased performance and speed. The microwave no longer shuts down the wireless network. Highly recommend.

The N900 Dual Band Wireless-N Router was both easy to install and set-up. It's being used in a small office with guest wireless internet enabled. It took maybe a total of 30 mins from the time of install to the time everything was up and running. I had never used a Netgear device but after this one I'd definitely recommend it.

We have tried other routers but had to install programs and go through an ordeal to get set up. I was not looking forward to installing yet another one. However, this router was so simple it was almost confusing to know what to do. Just let the router do all the work and respond to a few details using the genie on your computer and all your devices will connect with the input of your password. Great product.

where I live I wanted to install a router that could have all 15 devices use the router. 11 of them are wireless and the other are wired. all this with out having my local electrician come in and rewire my house just to enjoy netflix or my new digital copy of "Mocking Jay" which is exclusive when you pre ordered the movie from Best Buy. The web interface is very good. Some options I would like to have less hidden. Something the belkin interface similar to this model had a little easier to use. I am using one of the usb ports to for Apple's time machine. Works very well and transfer of files from internet while having six other connected is really good. The overall 5ghz signal lacks distance. I keep on reading that 5ghz frequency has a limited range. I live in a two story home and have installed the router on the wall closer to the house and as high as possible. Ceiling in the garage is about ten feet high. From a direct point upstairs I would be about 15ft. Away from the router. It almost seems you have to be in a direct line of sight of the router to enjoy the full potential of 5ghz. 2.4ghz drops to about highs 40's in my bandwidth from 65 mbps when in the furthest point of the upstairs from then router. Has other cool options like turning on wifi or off on anschedule. Great if you kids wanting to surf the web late at night through wifi. Parental controls and even making a usb printer into a network printer via its 1 of 2 usb ports in the router.

I purchased the router for our 2story home. The initial setup was done in no time, although I am not the most experienced user.! The whole house seems to be covered and we are getting a good signal everywhere. Also, when you start the computer the wireless is connected immediately without any problem. HD movie streaming seems to be a problem, but this might be also due to our computers which are already a couple years old. Netflix streaming (no HD) works flawless. There might be cheaper routers out there that work as good as this one - I don't have any comparison, but this router is doing definitely the trick for us.
