Get ready to push the reset button!!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Piece of junk. . It keeps dropping the internet connection. Off-shore tech support was horrible. Hard to understand, impatient, and always "needs to reset". Blogs suggest I'm not the first.

Good product didn't solve problem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The product according to product reviews is one of the best in the market. However, it didn't solve my problem which was to extend my internet connection. I continued to have problems with my internet away from the router. I did the test to place the extender in the best location and the issue continued.

Super Fast Setup, Connection, and Dead Zone Gone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My home is 2,600 sq ft and upgraded from my internet provider’s weak wireless router to the Linksys - Max-Stream™ AC2200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Route to provide a stronger more reliable signal through the home in January. This provided full bars everywhere in the house and I was quite pleased. Now that it is nice out, I use my back screened in porch which isn’t terribly far from my office where the router is but I keep the office door shut and when on the porch I close the sliding glass doors. I’ve now noticed this leads to a 2 bar WiFi connection that caused noticeable delays in loading email, websites, browsing, and streaming. If I opened the door I had full signal, but that isn’t feasible unless you want to pay to cool the outside meaning I needed a solution. I researched several WiFi extenders, boosters, and mesh networks before buying this extender as I saw nothing but high ratings and positive reivews. I chose this vs, a mesh network because I recently purchased the expensive router. Had I not done that I would probably have gone with the Google Mesh network which looks really neat. Boy am I glad I did! This was so easy to setup. All you have to do is plug it in near your current wireless router, press the WPS button on the extender, press the WPS button on your current router and wait for them to introduce each other and connect for about 45 seconds. After that, simply unplug the extender and move it to your desired location. It will show you green, yellow, red indicators to guide you on how good the location you picked and VOILA! Literally took less than 5 minutes. The only thing to note as a “disadvantage” vs. mesh network is that the extender requires a separate WiFi network name. This Nighthawk automatically uses your current network name and adds “EXT” to the end which you’ll need to connect to so no configuring needed in your part. With mesh, I think it’s totally seemless and the same name. But to me that is not a problem because I know when I need to switch to EXT. Overall this exceeded my expectatoins I setup and function. The speed was 2x faster even with my office and sliding glass doors closed with full WiFi bars. I did some non scientific time tests between the router and the extender and web pages loaded 2 times faster and email loaded almost immediately. My only complaint is actually with the Best Buy employees in the cmoputer department. When looking at this item two separate employees on separate occasions told me this was not the right product for me, it wouldn’t work, it slows down my connection, and that instead needed to buy a mesh network. Even after telling them I’d done my research and read reviews that in my case ( a small dead zone) the extender was perfect they still insisted on hard selling the Google mesh product. It was a bit off putting because I’d done a lot of research and knew what they were telling me was not correct for me and felt like they just had a sales quota or sales goal to meet on the mesh networks and didn’t really care what my needs were as a customer.

works okay
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.put the extender in my living room. signal still drops out even being within 10 feet of it but is better than it was before. not really sure i can blame the extender though as i believe the true issue starts with my shi**y comcast router. waiting on comcast to come out and replace that to see if it helps.

Questionable performance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While any increase in performance or distance would be quite marginal, I experienced a different problem. When connected to the extender I ran a series of download speed test. In every instance my download speed was approximately 40 percent lower than without the extender.

Returned for refund
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I could not get this to work well with my AC1900 Modem Router, model C7000v2. My system actually slowed down after adding this extender. I returned the extender for a refund and now only use the Modem Router.

Don’t bother
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extenders are a waste of time and money. They don’t work. Extending a subpar signal still leaves you with a subpar signal. I ended up returning and getting the Orbi system. Yes, it’s more expensive, but I’m now maxing out my WiFi throughout my home.
