Had to downgrade firmware to work!

Netgear tech support could not get two of these EX7000 extenders to work even in the same room and told me both new units were bad. I downgraded the firmware on the second one they told me was bad and it works perfectly... so off the shelf, both extenders were good with bad firmware that would connect to my existing router, but give me no internet access. They told me to order a third one from Amazon... Not Best Buys fault... Netgear should not update firmware unless all bugs are out!!

    No Improvement over Linksys

I needed to improve my coverage on 3 floors. I purchased 2 on these to replace 2 Linksys RE6300 extenders. There was no noticeable improvement and I returned them. I resolved my issue by bridging 3 routers(1 AC3200, 2 AC1900). No more drops.

Keeps loosing memory and constant updates. Then you call Netgear and they want to charge you over $100 a year to help you. Only reason I gave it 2 stars is because it worked perfect for a short time

It worked okay in the house, but couldn't get through walls. Dropped off quickly . Had to reset it a few times because Time Warner's router would switch channels and the nighthawk would get lost and drop the signal. Would not buy this again.

We have a great modem and was hoping this would boost our connectivity. Unfortunately we shouldn’t have even bought it. We saw no difference

My home is over 3600 square ft. My Spectrum cable servicemen suggested with confidence that I get this to boost service throughout. After paying almost $150 and taking the care setting it up, the connectivity lights stayed red. Welp...needless to say, back it went. I shouldn’t need an engineering degree to have this item work. Not at this price point should I have to shelve our more money to hire the get your money squad.

It does not have a range that I expected from such a large unit, this doesn’t work any better than the cheap ones I’ve had on amazon. Not a Solution if you’re looking for reliability!

I got this to extend my wifi since I was teaching online due to COVID-19. After researching wifi extenders for weeks, I chose this one. First, the installation was problematic and I had to go into my router's settings for it to connect. It worked for about a week, but eventually knocked many devices off of the network. My Ring doorbell had to be completely reformatted to work again. Was not worth all of the trouble.

Tried to extend range of my home Wi-Fi, after configuring this product, my range actually decreased. I am sure it is a location issue but I am not savvy enough to bother fixing it.

Hard wired equipment works great but everything I connect from WiFi drops. My phone, Samsung, won't connect at all anymore. It worked great to start but after it was to late to take back it started having problems.

The Netgear wifi range extender did not work for us. It states it could extend up to 10,000 sq feet however that was not the case. We placed it in a room on the second floor and the wifi would still not work!

This wifi extender will not support 5 GHz and 2 GHz at the same time. I spoke to Netgear support and they wanted to charge me for support over the phone since I purchased this item more than 90 days ago, and provided no real solution. It is a defective device with defective firmware. DO NOT BUY!

It constantly overheats drops signal and has a horrible range. Such a waste of money and time and so darn frustrating I want to return it but sure Best Buy won’t take it even though I’m a loyal high volume customer. Don’t buy this junk. P.S.- I’m Chief Technically Officer of my company and have a minor in CS and MSIT

After a few weeks, I just gave up and turned it off. Coverage is better without it. NOT recommended for any purpose. If there was an option for zero stars, that is what it would get. Wasted over $100 on it. The Best Buy "associate" said it was the best.... they apparently lied or don't know what they are talking about. I've asked around and others are having the same problem. Junk.
