I purchased the item when it was on sale so I got it for ~110 dollars (elsewhere was being sold for 175). It works well to extend my 2 and 5GHZ signals. The item is a bit bulky as it is the same save as my wireless router and so it is not easy to hide out of sight especially since it will be located in most people's home hallways. The setup does require some knowledge of how to setup WIFI as its setup is similar to setting up a wireless router. I have yet to get it to work as a hub for a hard drive or printer (it is advertised that it can support an external hard drive or printer as a network drive or printer). It was much easier setting up the router I have (ASUS) as a hub for both an external hard drive and printer than with this product. In summary, it is great for extended your WIFI signals (2 and 5 GHZ) but is a bit bulky and is not easy to get it to support add-ons such as a printer or external hard drive

My wife had to work from home for two weeks. The WiFi connection was weak in the dinning room. The Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 was easy to install and delivered a strong signal to the dinning room.

For the price it should be better. Its signal isn't long, but longer than the others i bought. The thing hates my phone and will decide to operate at less than 100m often. If i switch between 2 and 5g signal it will jumo back up to above 1g but quickly goes back. It freezes and lags and locks me out of admin frequently. Basically has operated poorly after about 6months of having it. Cool thing tho, the company consistently emails me, daily, to show me what i can buy. I did buy an extender, that help but was another 180.00 to get it to reach about 40-50 feet.

this is my 3rd Netgear product and I am very satisfied! Easy to install and set up!

I was going to purchase the cheaper wifi booster, but didn't want to take a chance. So, I paid a bit extra for this one. I really have no mode of comparison, since this is the first wifi extender I have purchased. Therefore, I do not know how it compares to the other ones. But, I can tell you that when I itt in my room which is 3 rooms away from the router, I am able to get an excellent signal withl 5 bars on my laptop. I was unable to get up to 1 bar prior to purchasing this extender. My kids are also very happy, because they get an excellent signal while in their rooms, where they were only getting 2 or 3 bars prior. We have an old house with some very thick cement and plaster walls, so it's a big surprise to get such great wifi.

This works much better than the generic Comcast modem which they charge a monthly fee for. Worth the price!
