good extender for a 2 story house
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this is our 3rd wifi extender. The problem always seems to be our house design as to why most extenders have not worked. This extender has finally allowed internet access in all areas of our house.

Super easy setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Live in a 3400 square foot home and had some dead spots that only had around 2 Mbps download rate, this boosted it to over 60 Mbps. Setup took literally 5 minutes.

Firmware issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very frustrated that Netgear still has not fixed connectivity issues with firmware update after 6 months. It shows disregard for customers.

DO NOT BUY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a Spectrum cable router and wanted to extend the signal. The directions are lacking a huge amount of information. I eventually found my way to the Netgear website for a firware update and stumbled on a setup wizard, none of which was mentioned in the directions. If your not computer saavy you’ll never figure it out. I got the unit hooked up and it did not help in any way despite strong signals from the router to the device. I started to tweak the settings and it turned into a disaster. I even double checked all my router settings. I spent 5 hours on this hunk of crap and gave up. I was not dumb enough to sign up at Netgear so I could be able call support. I’m returning it tomorrow.

NEVER EVER NETGEAR AGAIN!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a mix feeling before I decided to purchase Netgear's range extender. I use to own a Netgear range extender which lasts 5 years, which is fabulous. I also own a Netgear router, the router keep lost internet connection from the modem. After the my previous netgear range extender retired, I decided to try a new brand of range extender which only lasts few months and it crashed today. As I surf through BBY, I came accorss this Netgear range extender. I read the reviews and the price isn't that bad so I end up buying this device. However, this device is just a trash and it should not be priced more than $50 in my opinion. I cannot event find the WiFi network from my device AND the factory reset button doesn't do its job. I'm really disappointed with Netgear's product and will never purchase any device from them again.

NETGEAR IS NO GOOD
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first this worked ok. I would have to reset it once or twice a week because it would stop working. Now it stops working after a couple of hours. My IT friend has searched the forums and trouble shooting and has concluded that it is a hardware problem after numerous attempts to get it to work properly. Although it is still under the hardware warranty, the service warranty is only for 90 days. Netgear is insisting that I buy their $90 service package if they can get it fixed. They will not honor the hardware warranty unless they can trouble shoot, for which they will charge me if they are successful. I already sank $170 into this underwhelming product and won't spend anymore. Look out!

DO NOT Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've bought 2 Netgear routers and this extender. The first Netgear router failed in less than 2 years. This Extender failed after 14 months. Both hardware failures. Spoke with multiple people at Netgear. 1 year warranty is all they kept saying. So unless you want a product that fails shortly after the warranty, I would not recommend this brand.

Unstable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 2 hours of fussing with the setup and online troubleshooting I still can't get it to work except next to the router. The unit is unstable and the mywifiext.net page unavailable without physically putting the router and extender in the same room. Once you attempt to connect from another room it remains visible but unstable and unworkable. Ironically my router is also Netgear and I've set up plenty of wireless connections. Time for Netgear to revisit the firmware. I am returning the product.

Useless an an AP Dont buy for that
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing won't work in AP mode. It'll happily switch packets over to my router over gigabit, but tell its ridiculous genie to switch to AP mode and it claims it can't find the router. I'm access the internet through its switch, and it can't find my router. Seems the problem is Comcast wants their equipment on 10.0.0 networks, but this piece of trash won't switch off the 192.168.1 network, no matter what. Its awful, and that ridiculous genie setup they've employeed won't let you fix its stupid assumptions. This thing is going back to the store tomorrow. What a waste of a day, and a piece of junk. Not buying any netgear anytime soon. They used to be ok. but this thing was trash.

Apparently don't work with Spectrum Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So,this is the second Netgear wifi extender I purchased. Both models had the same problemThey were both the EX7000 as well.Got through setup, and everything else. When it came time to connect devices. They would all connect. But couldn't get any internet on any of them.Which doesn't make a lot of sense.Because I have the cheaper Netgear extender EX6150 downstairs in my basement. In which I have no problem with. This may a excellent extender. Unfornutlety, for me.Neither one worked

Disappointing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just had my 3rd one fail in 16 months. First one lasted just over a year wasted a day on the phone with tech support thinking it was my equipment. Changed the unit and everything worked great. The second one lasted a couple months. Exchanged it for another one. It. Went out today after less than 3 months. It shows it as a active unit but when you try to connect it says no internet. Will buy a different product
