Picked this up so an old cat-5 network printer could be used in a wi-fi remote location. Marrying it directly to a Nighthawk router so one would expect the two sister products to be seamless. They are...

So far this device has worked great in doing what it says. I am concerned that it may only last 1-2 years. The reason being I've had to reset it a few times to get it to Grant access to the internet again and one time it wasn't broadcasting. Since doing the reboots I haven't had any issues with it. I would honestly buy another one, if it were on sale again.

I am in IT and overall this has been a good unit. Was able to stream 4K however after running heavy traffic over it I would see latency issues and occasionally I've had to power cycle it. I've since lowered the amount of traffic I was running through it down to a 1080 security camera, Sonos and a couple of wireless devices) and it has been rock solid. I would recommend for normal use.

and very easy to setup. I use this upstairs in my office to enhance the wireless speeds of devices upstairs, including my gaming computer. My main netgear router and cable modem are downstairs and I wanted a full clean signal upstairs and have the ability to hardwire 4 devices into the back of the extender. I should have bought one of these a long time ago since I do not know how I made it this long without one of these.

I have a Nighthawk router that I absolutely love. I need an extender for my back room and decided to stay with the Netgear brand, this works great. Has LED indicators that let you know how strong the Wifi signal is, that way you can find the optimum spot for it. Has a great look too, I highly recommend. Very easy to set up too, if your router has a WPS button then you press that on both the router and extender and it links up. Great product.

Finally found something to boost my wifi signal. With the modem upstairs for work, the devices didn't work well on the 1st floor. This has really made a difference.

I bought this as a replacement for an older Netgear. For the most part, it was a drop in replacement. I'm not thrilled with the admin interface on these devices. It tries to make it easy, but I think for people who know what they are wanting it to do this just gets in the way. I think the admin tools for the cisco family of devices is much better. One area I would rate it fairly well on is signal strength. I have found the reach of the Netgear wifi routers to be very good, compared to similar devices I've tried. If signal strength and range is a key criteria, this is likely a good choice. I'm not disappointed I bought this device. On the other hand, I wouldn't give it a ringing endorsement either. If you're looking for a dual band wi-fi extender, this is one. I'd rate it as average in its class.

I have a Netgear router and it was a breeze linking this extender following the instructions, now I have uninterrupted signal to the furthest end of my home.I had placed the extender upstairs on top of a bookshelf but I noticed by placing it at waist level, the 2&5G were coming in with maximum strength even with son gaming and phones computers and tvs sharing.

I have a D7000 router which works great. I just needed this to extend the range down to a building on my property. The range is good. The Unit has horrible trouble staying connected to the Router. I'm an IT network consultant and have been trying to nail down the disconnect issue for a while. First we thought it was a bad gateway. We since resolved that issue but it kept happening. We would be "connected, no internet" and the extender would just shrug. It intermittently craps the bed with your bridge connection. I still can't find out how or why. I just know I can't ping my router, but everything is saying it's "connected, no internet". It would eventually start error checking and I think it would renew its lease. I still havent been able to duplicate the issue or find an easy way to resolve it. I have done the on/off switch so man times i'm amazed it's still working. That's issue 1 Issue 2 is that it struggles to keep packets coming in and out. It will start to drop packets on a whim and connectivity gets spotty. I had to sit out in my yard with a wifi signal strength tester and a laptop with various tools to try and catch it but still be able to connect to my router. The troubleshooting was ridiculous. Since the errors were intermittent and random throughout the day, It would interrupt service for between 3 and 45 minutes, but you never knew when it would magically come back up again. I travel for work so I'm not always home to sit and fiddle with something that is too expensive to need copious amounts of troubleshooting. Finally I got to a point where I could troubleshoot and catch up on all my tasks. I'm 3 days past warranty. This hunk of garbage is going to the shooting range for some target practice. See if we can drop some packets.

I bought a Pc for my room and could not run a game without having lag and stutters. As soon as I purchased this extender my problem stopped and I was getting roughly 400-500 mbps consistently. Anyone who is unable to run a ethernet cable directly to the Pc I recommend this as the next best option.
