Work great!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a little nervous about buying these. I was only getting 100Mbps on my 200Mbps connection even directly next to my router. I have a few WiFi 6 devices, but I understand that does not directly mean faster speeds. And not having a gigabit connection or dozens of active devices, meant that I do not require the highest tier of router. I simply wanted to get my full bandwidth throughout my 1500 sq ft house, and this system does that in spades. It’s the lowest cost I have seen for a WiFi 6 mesh network, but don’t let that deter you. I also noted that the router and the node both are extremely light, but I’m getting 260Mbps everywhere in my house now, so whatever hardware is in there does the job well. I also like that there is at least one Ethernet connection on each, which can be used as a wired backhaul in lieu of tri-band. Lastly, just a note that I initially had the node on my desktop near my wireless mouse. It appears the 2.4 GHz interferes because the mouse movement became mildly erratic. When I move the node a few feet away the problem disappeared.

Blazing Fast Wi-Fi system
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old Apple Airport Extreme gave out, prompting me to look into options. I have a small home, and wanted to future proof my Wi-Fi system, and looked into Netgear Nighthawk Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System. Set up was a breeze. Expect to wait about 10 or so minutes to allow for firmware updates. I did have issues with my Roku dropping off several times when it first connected to the Wi-Fi system, but after the first day, we did not experience any further drop offs, has been very solid. Streaming services has significantly improved (no buffering, quick loading, crisp pictures, and clear sound). Also, my old work laptop was not recognized by the router. Upon research, I found the issue was typically due to laptop OS not being compatible, so I had my work IT upgrade my OS from Windows 7 to Windows 10, which solved the issue. So far, so good, happy with my purchase.

Great range & simple to set up
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are using an older system, this is well worth the upgrade. Very simple and quick to set up, phenomenal range and great speeds - my internet provider is 100MBPS and I was consistently getting that over 100ft from the router. Highly recommend!

Very easy to set up
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After several frustrating hours on technical support only to learn our old router was dead, we headed to Best Buy on a dark and rainy night to replace it. We chose the Nighthawk because an Apple support person had recommended a 6 mesh system and said Netgear is a reliable brand, and because it seemed reasonably priced. Once home, I quickly downloaded the Nighthawk app, followed the steps and had the internet back within about five minutes. I am a 69-year-old woman with a husband who is even less techie. We have both found our internet to be faster (it had seemed sluggish lately). We were especially pleased with ease of setup.

Great but not perfect.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this system was a huge upgrade from my several year old router. My family is a heavy user of streaming services, computers, tables, phones, sonos, simplisafe, the list goes on... this system handles all of it over wifi. There is an app that is useful to setup/control the system which is a nice function for those of us who use our phones for everything. The units themselves are not overly large like others and blend in well with a room to not be obtrusive. I have noticed that some of my older equipment (older ipad for example) does not seem to play well and can drop connection. Also my wife's extremely old work laptop cannot even find the wifi signal... Not a problem with the product just something to consider when purchasing. Overall we are very happy with the upgrade and I absolutely recommend.

Budget friendly wifi 6
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router is a cheap alternative to very expensive wifi 6 routers. It does the same thing for a fraction of the price. The nighthawk app is very easy to use for firmware updates. Setting up is a breeze and changing settings in the app couldn’t be more simple. My only complaint for this router is that each box only has one Lan port. I love hardwiring when I’m able and this makes it more difficult. Other than that great router

Think twice
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The wireless coverage is great, the speeds are great too! I hate this App. I'm on the network and it can't find me?? What?! So I close the app, try again... and again. For everything is slow compared to my fast expectations.

Mostly Reliable Service but App Needs Some Work
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I would say that I am satisfied with this purchase. Very easy to set up and get your WiFi service up and running. The app does have some flaws though these would not be noticeable to the average user. One example is the usage of port forwarding. After setting it up, the app seems to lose that entry in the port forwarding table so you are unable to modify/delete that entry. The only way around this after speaking with technical support is to completely reset the router and set it all back up again which can be a big pain. One other option that is kind of annoying is the inability to turn off 5G WiFi. This can be a pain if setting up devices that do not support 5G. Other than these couple of flaws, you get what you pay for....nothing more, nothing less.

Quick Setup
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Follow the instructions on this setup and it's very easy to be online in about 15 minutes. You do need to download a specific app which walks you through the setup. For me, on a few different steps I had to attempt to complete it multiple times. Don't get frustrated if that happens, just try again, it will work. The app is nice because you can control all of the devices connected to your network, individually. Oh you didn't do your chores, no WiFi for your tablet. Done. The app also allows you to test the signal strength and bandwidth speed for every room in your house among many other things I have yet to figure out. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is for some reason my kids tablets occasionally will not connect to the WiFi now, despite the phones in my house staying connected.

Underwhelmed and finicky
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these initially because I was not wanting to get an Amazon or Google product, and these seemed like a great mesh option for a Gigabit network. However I quickly returned them as they were mediocre at best. The setup is simple enough using the Nighthawk app (app setup + management seems to be the standard these days), however it by default turned on the Network Defender feature after setup which scans _every connected device on your network_. It blew up my phone for 20-30 minutes with notifications while I tried to figure out where the setting was to turn it off. After install it needed to install an update, not a surprise or an issue however it took 20 minutes to flash the firmware and restart. Not great on setup. Prior to my getting gigabit connection I was using an existing Cable connection of about 200-300 Mbps and was generally getting that on this router too, no issues. A couple days later, I noted that simple streaming from my chromecast was having issues with no noticeable change. Did a speed test and was seeing ~60-70 Mbps connections and had to do a reset. Doing a reset and/or powercycle on this thing seriously takes 5+ minutes to do which is way more than even my old Linksys EA6350 (about 2-3). The power cycle fixed it, but not great to already need one 2 days in to a fresh install. I finally got the fiber connection installed, and I barely saw speeds above 300 Mbps wireless in the same room, despite having 900-980 Mbps hardwired to my connection. Hardwired to router I could pull better (about 750-800 using cat 5e), but so could the aforementioned old Linksys router. I switched over to the old router with the new fiber connection and the speeds were about the same if not better in some cases so I returned this. tl;dr it works, and was easy-ish to setup although annoying. Speeds were underwhelming coming from an AC1200 router, and is slow to reboot and update. Already returned and going for eero or an Orbi instead.

Great mesh router
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good. Does a great job covering my 3000+ Sq ft house. Has wifi 6, only downside is I had to buy a network switch because it only has 1 additional port on the back. Is a great mesh system otherwise.

Mesh network
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasnt sure if i would like a MESH network. I was so use to my Asus gaming router. But after I upgraded my internet, I started having wifi connection speed issues. I read bunch of reviews and saw alot of ideas. I took the leap of faith on Nighthawk Mesh. I am happy to say --works great, speed is crazy fast, And I am using WIFI 6. Really easy set up--and you can monitor the network. Netgear is solid. Its like an ORBI but was less expensive.

Great WiFi 6 value
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The range and performance was much better than expected. I live in an apt building with a garage down the hall and I was able to link the 2 pack system together to create a larger network, and one where I can have a security system in the garage. I suppose I just wish I had waited for the dedicated tri band version, but then again, my internet speeds aren't really high enough to take advantage for all that bandwidth.

Nighthawk AX1800 Dual Band Mesh experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since we've bought our 4 bedroom 3 level (with finished basement) home a year ago, we've struggled with Wifi dead zones in the home. I work from home and my job requires persistent and reliable Wifi connectivity. My son suggested this product, we couldn't be happier. Not only that it fixed the annoying dead zones in the house, it also improve our internet speed. I would highly recommend this product.

Improvement of WIFI 5
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Linksys Velop mesh system and went with this for WIFI 6 and it makes a difference. Speeds have greatly improved on my Samsung Galaxy S10 which is WIFI 6 ready, I can see it o the number 6 on the wifi coin on the phone. The velop worked well but the speeds are better with this router when using the speed test. No dropped connections for my household with 26 devices. We stream TV and the router handles it no sweat.

Great MESH
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All around great product. Only downside is using MESH in general and that is some devices get confused during setup between the satellite and router base, and can’t find your network. Work around I found was disconnect the satellite while connecting devices and then once established, reconnect satellite. No issues since. Speeds are amazing. And now no weak spots in my home or yard

Wifi for the whole house!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This mesh wifi system works great. It's simple to set up and even easier to add satellite devices if you find you need a greater range of wifi access! I have been using Netgear routers for a number of years and mus say, the nighthawk series is amazing! I would like to see is a version of the router with a few more Ethernet ports and maybe ditch the glossy black exterior for a matte black finish.

Fast WiFi, easy setup and great mesh coverage
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super simple setup got our WiFi up and running with zero effort. Super fast paired with our Surfboard cable modem and I can always check my speed around our house. Two units cover three story 4,000 sq for home. Looking forward to adding an extra satellite when they’re available just to boost speeds a bit in remote spots and our front/back porch. Overall awesome piece of tech.
