Bought this a little over a year ago. So far has been an excellent upgrade when I updated to fiber over cable internet. Good range outside the house.

It does the job with good strong coverage for a 3 bedroom house; but it is not easy to set up to work with an existing wired network especially if that network includes one or more switches. I used the Android app to for setup only, and then I uninstalled it. If you are going to keep the app on your phone, then I urge you to read the Netgear privacy statement; it says basically that they vacuum up everything possible including your location and then sell it to data brokers. The app also tries to get you to spend a lot of money unnecessarily. The app does NOT allow you to access all of the router settings; you need to login with a web browser for that and the web interface is not designed to be used on a smartphone. I had a problem where the router was blocking internet to my main Windows 11 desktop computer, so I could not use it to login to the router to unblock it (the app does not have access control settings).

I've installed a few Nighthawks with my job, but never had one myself. I needed to get a new router recently, and opted for a Nighthawk this time. It's been very good since I took it out of the box. Set up was a breeze, and I haven't had a single issue with it.

Fair price and an easy set up made this purchase a winner.

This router was a recent upgrade for my home Network which was lacking in speed and range. After setting it up (which was easy to do) I was able to reach speeds at or near the 900mbps that my internet provider was offering. This router also provided excellent range throughout my home. This has been an exceptional purchase.

Router works great! Our internet got upgraded to fiber and the old router couldn’t keep up. This one does great with a couple computers, phones, Nintendo Switch and Apple TV. Needed to call my internet company for help setting up, if the auto set up doesn’t work try that as well.

Definitely allowed us to access higher speeds with our internet service. modem wifi would only get us at most 100mbps but this router hooked to the modem with ethernet got us up to 800mbps (we paid for the 1gbs). worth it if you bought the speed levels above what the standard modem wifi offers.

Spectrum swore I was getting the speed they offered but all my speed tests said I was short by 300 Mbps. Turns out, the provided router, not the modem, was at fault. This router solved my problems effortlessly! Within a few minutes, I was up and running at full speed. No call to tech support required.

This is a good router, bought it for general use but the speed and security is good!

Easy to set up and use. Speed of the router allows game consoles to be run wireless.

My product of choice has always been Netgear. No frills, no mess. The Nighthawk has not disappointed me! Its a great design and has exceeded my expectation in range. I would have given it a 5 except the use of app on phone should be an exception not a requirement since not everyone likes to use their cell phone for set up

Got tired of living with slow wifi so I bought this device and the Nighthawk DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem. After upgrading my Xfinity wifi plan and connecting the devices, these things work like a charm together and now I have great wifi signal and speeds. Not to mention, the Nighthawk app is great for management and updates.

Everything easy to setup app is also very easy and very useful. The only reason not giving it 4 stars is after having for 2 weeks it internet went out twice and had to reboot the router. I exchanged it for higher end NETGEAR and have had no issues. Maybe other people won’t have this issue.

This router by far is one the best I've ever had. After upgrading to fiber and gig speeds, I needed something that could handle the bandwidth and distributed flawlessly throughout the house. After research and reviews I decided to go with this bad boy. With 12 devices connected so far it easily pushes out 900 plus on upload and download. I'm in heaven right now.

I love Nighthawk routers, and recommend them for home installations all the time - probably overkill for an apartment, but your question involving something a bit older, you’ll love it.

First problem it would not connect(bad cable) then it would not connect to windows 7 even though listed on the box and troubleshooter rep. Had to end up buying a plug in wifi adapter. This computer was hooked up to the old router with no problems. Also this router seems to switch between 2.4 and 5g on its own

Setup was a breeze. Speed is fast. Range is excellent.
