Netgear Nighthawk AX4200

The previous router was 7 years old. It did not help at all. I am sitting right in front of the router right now and I'm getting 1 bar on my cell phone. If it wasn't such a headache to get set up, I would have returned it. So far at least my computer has not dropped connection. I'm still testing to see if my cell phone drops calls or not.

Good router. ASUS may be a better choice.

The router functions well and provides good throughput. The user interface of both the router itself and its mobile app are noticably less polished than that offered by ASUS. The 'built-in' security, which is pushed aggressively by both email and the app is also a paid subscription, rather than the free Trend Micro security offered by ASUS.
