This is at least the 3rd Nighthawk router we have purchased in the last year. For some reason they are not lasting very long. If Best Buy wasn't replacing them, I would not have one in my house. When they are actually working they are great.

Super easy to setup and really boosted my coverage throughout our 2400 sq/ft home. The app is great for management.

Specified that I needed this to speed up and expand my Hughes net system. Found out that it would not work with Hughes net even though sales.an said it would. Then found out that it was a discontinued model. Really upsetting.

The router works incredibly good until it won't. It started to fail around the 10-11 month mark and made the great mistake to trust that I had a good brand behind me and I just dealt with it without thinking too much about it. The wifi just stops working randomly. There's wifi but no internet. Detected by all my devices at home. It doesn't matter what I try. I have to restar the router several times to get it to work. Now the fun part starts. You only get 1 year warranty with this. With no chance to even chat with customer support about this. The only option for you is to either get help by yourself, pay Netgear and extra premium for extra support or get a new router. Now I have a 15 month old crappy $180 router that I can't do anything with it. I thought that Netgear was a trusted brand. Not anymore.

No WiFi Connection with NetGear Router

My wife’s cousin recommended this router, stating NetGear is very good and reliable. After being notified by Best Buy about a delivery delay, when the product arrived, I immediately followed instructions to install the router. I also downloaded the NetGear app. Regardless that instructions were followed; and I tried to seek assistance with NetGear, I never received a proper WiFi connection. I then sent the router back to Best Buy; and am awaiting a full refund of my purchase. I am very disappointed with what has happened.

    Very clunky parental controls

I had a previous NETGEAR wifi router that was outdated and the parental controls no longer had tech support available. Everything worked fine up to that point. I decided to upgrade to this product thinking it would be better, but it’s given me nothing but problems since I bought it. The parental controls were shutting off internet to devices I hadn’t authorized it to, it was filtering out basic children’s content, even though I had set the filter to ‘adult’, and tech support is only available for 90 days after purchase. What’s worse is that Best Buy’s return period for the product is basically about 10 minutes compared to most other companies these days. It’s been a little over a month since I bought it, and I can’t return it. I’m finished with NETGEAR.

I prefer zero stars but whatever. This thing has been an absolute pain since day one. Setup was easy, sure, but holy hell is the WiFi service in my home absolute garbage. I have to power cycle this router several times a day to get my “smart home” back to smart status. Very annoying. Selling this garbage or recycling it. Back to ASUS I go.

This is not my first Nighthawk but it's my last. It. Would. Not. Connect! I attempted to pair it with two different NetGear modems with no success. So having been without WiFi for 48 hours I was done and returned it.

Bought it, hooked it up, positioned well in the house, got worst coverage than my older router, slower speeds, and got dropped signals. I don't like my experience with Netgear had them before but turned away after the first router previously owned and switched to Linksys which is the current set up and actually outperforms this new one

Had this router for less than two years. WiFi connection started dropping, and there is absolutely ZERO customer support unless you pay for a support subscription fee (which is hundreds of dollars a year). Warranty is short and broad. Not worth the money for it to crap out in two years. My parents standard stock AT&T router from 2007 outlasted this crap.
