Disappointed

It also is extremely slow for me to pay for 200 Mbps. And everything of mine is up to date software-wise. I am kinda disappointed in it. The app is very slow and that's how you are supposed to set it up.

Not a competitive price

Router needs internet to configure properly

Even after creating a netgear account it then does not accept the credentials to log into the router. Why is this so terribly configured? You should be able to modify the settings of hardware you buy without needed another account tied to the internet. One of the worst routers I've ever dealt with.

Not as described

But you have to pay for the parental controls and the security (after a 30d trial) which is not clear in the product description. I run linux so I read through everything carefully to make sure it was compatible. Can't run the nighthawk app on my linux phone either although I can download it (app runs, but it doesn't connect to netgear). Wouldn't recommend any Netgear products given all these problems (and I've used them for years).

New but a disappointment

I purchased it because of the updated features but when I installed it, the new one never worked to my satisfaction. I returned it because the old one worked better than the new one!

Nighthawk reign as king for gaming router over

The new firmware causes it to factory reset almost daily. I had the same issue with my last one so I figured it was just old (3yrs) so I got this one. Within 24hrs it reset itself 3 times. One time was within 1 hr of the last reset. And reset as in completely removed ALL SSID and PW and any security questions. Stay away. Go with Asus and be more than happy.

Zero Customer Service

They will not offer support if you have issues. Even though they said my hardware warranty was still in effect for another 6 months they refused to help with a USB 3.0 connection issue. No customer service at all. Avoid at all costs there are better companies out there.

It slowed down the router, keep dropping the Internet, and bitdefender freezes the page on some sites when using VPN. Called netgear, no help, they told me to call bitdefender so I did, the only thing they could tell me was, don’t use vpn while on those sites. No help from bitdefender, it was like no one wanted to help,

Nighthawk AX4200

Called support and they made a change. Wifi worked for about two weeks, then started to drop off. Called support again, they made a change, worked for two days then started to drop wifi off again. Returning to the store. All hardware updates were current.

Bad speeds

Got full refund from Best Buy. Request cancellation of service warranty and refund of charges approximately $89.95

Not good

This product messed made my Internet crash many times and also made it very slow. You couldn't use your tv and phone at the same time because one would lose Internet connection

don't buy it

I called the help support they helped me un block it . but next day it started again. So i took it back return it to best buy.

Do not recommend

Keeps giving poor signal strength. I should have kept my service provider's router...now I have to return this crap. It is really affecting my work.
