Our old router has been slowing down. I purchased this for $149 half off on Black Friday. It is so much faster. I run 2 firesticks a roku and a smart TV. Along with 4 iPhones and 4 computers. There are no dead spots in my house even on the far side of the basement. Set up wasn’t difficult with the app. I’m not a tech genius so I’m running mostly factory settings. It is nice that you can turn all the indicator lights accept the power light off. The kids don’t complain about lag in their games.

This is a great router! We use it for our whole house across 3 floors and wifi works just fine. Only thing I would want improvement on is to make the router smaller or more compact.

This router is lightning fast. I was dreading hooking it up and spending hours getting all devices switched to my router, but with the app, it took less than 5 minutes. The speed of the router is super fast and the connection is very powerful. We have a 1500 square foot house with 3 floors and I have 100% connection throughout the entire house.

Bought this after upgrading my DOCSIS 3.0 modem to DOCSIS 3.1 as my Xfinity subscription was increased in speed, but my 3.0 modem wasn't capable. Turned out that my former Netgear Nighthawk router (which I've had since 2017) also wasn't capable, so I researched a bit and bought this. So far, this router has been working great and I'm getting almost 900 Mbps on both wired and wireless connections. Based on previous experience with Netgear equipment, I don't expect that anything will change. Setup was easy even though I didn't use the mobile app for that, which apparently makes it REAL easy. If you go the manual route, find and download the owner's manual on the internet as that has lots of good info. It has 4 outgoing ethernet ports, so that allows me to connect almost all of my wired units up directly, but I also use a gigabit Netgear switch off of one to branch off to more. The signal on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels is strong. I have it on the first floor of my house and get good connections throughout and out in the street and across my 3/4 acre lot. Now I'll sell off my old modem and router (still good for most) to pocket a little back. :)

Lets make this simple. Easy to install. Increased coverage area in a brick house. Very fast with added security. The app used for installation and control is convenient and easy to use. The additional support and virus protection past the trial period is a little pricy so you mat think twice.

The NETGEAR Nighthawk AX5200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router (RAX48) is a very easy to use and fast router. The set up is very simple as all I had to do was plug it in and download the app (this is slightly annoying as you need an internet connection to download the app but I am sure you can connect to it through the ip like any router if you can not get an internet connection to download the app). Once you are plugged in and you open the app, it automatically detects what type of configuration you need for your network and automatically set everything up for me. All I had to do after the first time setup was have the separate networks show up as one joint network, which was also as easy as clicking a button in the app. If you are looking for a hassel-free, lightning-fast router for gaming, work, or just general use, then this is a perfect buy!

Hi just an update. I bough this router 4 days ago. I am coming from Optimum Online default Dlink router which was ok but no range. I have 300mb. I was getting about 250mb on 5ghz and 10mb on 2.4ghz. I have 44 devices which 40 are Wireless and 4 ethernet. I was using an extender for my 3 Ring cameras. After replacing it with new RAX48, i get 310mb on 5ghz and 105mb on 2.5ghz. Range has increase to the point that i remove my extender. So far i am really happy. Everything works perfect even streaming 4k content which was not an issue before with old router using Apple TV 4k and new Google TV device. The shocker was when i enable OFDMA on 2.4ghz and 5ghz which is located when you login using the browser on advance setting. After i enable i notice 4k Dolby Vision and HDR movies where sharper and more details. Same thing on youtube videos 4k. I though it was just my mind paying games but it was true when i started seeing my ring cameras live view and video recorded super sharp. that blow my mind. Now, most of my devices are AC. I only have a few AX. I don't understand why OFDMA is disable by default. It should be enable.I have also found the setting for MU-MIMO which is disable. Do you guys think i should enable MU-MIMO as well. Will it interfere with OFDMA. Will both enable cause any issues.

It certainly delivers faster speed and better range than my older lower cost router. It is providing whole house coverage in my 2 story 2400sqft house. At the far rooms speed drops, but still a respectable 60mbps. Setup notes: With my older 40ft Cat5 Ethernet cable it would not connect at all. Worked fine after upgrading to Cat6 cable. This is probably a good thing to save from slow speeds down the road. The first time I tried setting up with the Android app, it did not require me to create a Netgear account. However, later when I got the new cable, and tried to adjust the setup through the app, it required an account creation before proceeding. Thus minus the one star.

Configuration and setup was easy. However noticed that with or without smart connect, it's forcing many of my devices to the 2.4 GHz band including my Wi-Fi 6 laptops and phones. Ultimately had to separate the SSID for 2.4 and 5 GHz to get the improved speed. Deducting a star for a useless smart connect feature but so far no connection drops or any other hassles. Overall it's a good buy at a discounted price if you know how to configure it. Note : it appears that Smart connect / bandsteering feature doesn't function as it should for many routers including Tplink so it's not just Netgear that is suffering from it. The best solution seem to be separating the SSID and using 2.4 when necessary.

My spectrum router broke and was recommended to look at this particular router for my house. This has been such a good find for me honestly. It is a quick and easy setup. The WI-FI at the house doesn't stagger like it did before.

Very pleased so far! We moved into a larger house so we upgraded from a AC1750 Netgear router. This was on sale which made it more appealing. We have a ton of devices and our network was congested. So purchased this and noticed a big difference right away. At the furtherest distance it increased the signal strength on my Xbox One by 20%. Our speeds stayed primarily the same but much more consistent and less buffering. ** unrelated to the product - I read that if you manually changed the new router settings for the network name and password, your devices would connect automatically. While some of them did, most did nothing and they were poor connections. I recommend just taking the time to change all your devices over.

The Nighthawk AX5200 replaced an older router we've had for over 4 years. There were some connection problems so we hoped this new router would resolve those. It was fairly easy to set up, and we were back connected to the internet in about 5 minutes. So far its out performing the router we replaced with it. None of the devices or apps we use in the house have had any connection problems since its been running, but we now know the HULU problems we were having are HULU problems, and not caused by our connection. That's good to know. Its been about 2 weeks now, and if this keeps performing this well, I'm more than happy with it.

This router has actually exceeded my expectations. It runs trouble free was relatively easy to set up, has good transfer rates and great wireless range. Our house is about 2200 sq. ft. and I have a good wireless strength on all my devices regardless of where they are, even on the 5 GHz band. My HP laptop Realtek wireless adapter has typically poor reception but with this router, the signal strength is great. Not sure the Armour protection is worth the price but adds an extra layer of security if it makes you feel more secure.

Really good router for Black Friday price

I bought this router during the Black Friday event. Overall, I've been really happy with this router. It had done everything that I wanted my router to do with the extra features of WiFi 6. Like what other reviewers have said in their reviews is that you might need to do a little extra tweaking in the setup to enable all the goodness that WiFi 6 has to offer you. These can be found in the configuration GUI of the router when you connect your computer to the router. The settings are hidden in the advance area of the GUI. I would advise to turn off the readyConnect option if it is enable. Nice idea but it make a bit of a mess with your home networking. I live in a smallish townhome so range isn't a big issue for me. In my 1500 sq. ft home it was able to easily cover the entire house no problem for 5Ghz band. I tried using the WPA3 encryption but some of the my older devices did not like that and would not connect to the Wi-Fi so I had to bump it back down to WPA2. If you have some older WiFi devices you may have to do the same thing. I've had this router for about a week and a half and so far I haven't had any issues with drop internet connections or slow internet speed. I'll update this review in the future should I run into any issues at a later date. I've connected my 8TB NAS drive in the USB port on the back and the readyStorage works pretty well. I really like this router because of the WiFi speed are really fast so that helps when you have fast internet or doing file transfer to a NAS. Its really easy to use the WPS button since it is located right on the front of the router for ease of connecting devices. The router is wider but flatter and the antenna are a little bit taller than my previous Linksys router but not by much. Also like how the ac plug is small so it doesn't take up much space on my power extension.
