Routers out of the box should be able to connect two computers together via ethernet cables. It should have a DHCP server built in so you can talk to and configure it. NOT Netgear. To do anything you have to connect it directly to the internet PERIOD. So its an internet thing that calls itself a router. Thats just wrong and its going back. They can keep it.

The signal is strong when it works, but for some reason I would always loose the internet connection at night. Since switching to another router I no longer have that issue.

this product is horrible, I will never trust or recommend this brand to anyone. Setting it up was very easy but after setting it up it wouldn't receive any service. I called customer service but they weren't at all. Please don't west your time trying to buy this product I tried it but it wasn't successful. Thank God for best buy for accepting returns, if not my money would have been a west. The only thing I regretted was wearing my time.

I’m not sure when this happened, but Netgear now charges you for “security” protection to be able to even USE THE ROUTER!!!!!!!!!! We were told we’d have to buy a subscription and just ONE year was $150. Theyre now forcing subscriptions on customers. I paid over $300 for a router just to be told id have to buy a subscription.

This router was supposed to be a replacement for the router that looked like one of those Star Wars spaceships in the router, kept cutting in and out with signal had to return

The worst router ever, configuration is not working when i called the tech support, they told me to take the router offline do the configuration and connect it back again and we have some issues with this product. Thats weird

Great router needs storm/jolt protection built in

These routers work great until a storm or tree falls on a house. I had a tree fall and part of it hit my house, this took out there night hawk routers and three routing switches. Why does a tree falling have this effect? This is a very expensive replacement and If there were more protections against jolts or surges this might save consumers money.
