Bought this to upgrade from my internet providers supplied modem/router. This Nighthawk router modem combo completely blows what I had out of the water. I have full signal everywhere in my house and have between 600mbps and 850mbps wireless, and close to 900mbps wired.

Easy set up...kind of. They want you to use the app but it was glitchy. If you know anything about routers it's not that hard. It is fast but the range is not near as good as I'd hoped for. I have a 2500 sqft home and the router is in the garage. It may be interference from building material, however, my nighthawk, X4S covered the whole house.

Starting off, I'm giving 3 stars because there is still A LOT of room for improvement and I think the release of this router was a little premature given the amount of issues that exist. I upgraded from the Netgear C6220 which was all around a good router. It performed well but was starting to get a little outdated for my liking. Initial impression of the CAX80 is very good. The speed is phenomenal and what you would expect from a new gen. WIFI6 works great for the limited devices I have that are capable. I have not yet experienced any of the random drops or buggy connectivity issues that others have mentioned. I will say that Netgear seems to be dropping the ball with firmware updates. I understand that the router is still relatively new however I would expect a little more urgency with the amount of issues coming to light with this router. Current issues I have experienced: 1.) If you have a Samsung TV (more specifically MU series), you will not be able to utilize the Samsung TV PLUS app. All of the other apps and features work fine, but for some reason Samsung TV PLUS does not currently work with the CAX80. 2.) You will not be able to utilize "Wifi Calling" or text messaging over wifi features on your mobile phones with the CAX80. If you are using a messaging app that is NOT reliant mobile data (whatsapp, signal, imessage, etc...) you will not experience any issues. If you are using a native SMS app (samsung messages app) it will not work over wifi. Same with calls. There is currently no fix for this. I would highlight this a major issue. Note: if you live in an area with good mobile signal, you won't even notice this. Overall, its appears somewhat reliable for basic household use with the current firmware release. However, Netgear really needs to step up the support to get this device free of bugs. If you're on the fence like I was, you might want to wait another 6 months or so and see if the firmware issues get resolved.

Decided to Upgrade from the old reliable netgear AC1900. This router/ modem is a beast. No issues and what’s best NetGear made easy to setup using their app instead of a pc, I am very impressed and satisfied so far. Would highly recommend this product

I’m happy that I purchased this product. This modem is super fast, download takes only a second and streaming has no issue with HD and supports 4K streaming as well. I have a home theater with 4K and I have no problem encountered. Streaming and downloading is very fast and smooth. Easy set up.

This one works; I have a 2,200 sq. ft. home, two floors, standard cookie cutter home and this thing is on the top floor, middle of the home and it provides excellent coverage throughout my home. I have a family of five and everyone is a heavy Internet user and thsi thing keeps up with everyone! I am pleased with this product.

We had recently upgraded to Xfinity gig speed and had nothing but problems connecting our TVs for streaming and laptops for work. The Nighthawk WiFi 6 router/modem combo solved literally every problem we had, and even improved our speeds on top of what we should be getting. Thankful and satisfied are an understatement!

I was having a lot of internet problems. Mainly using to Manhattan Wi-Fi connections. Slow speeds when uploading and downloading. Comcast being my internet service. I purchased this item and installed using there apt. It was a fast installation. It solved all my problems. My Wi-Fi is the best ever. Great product. A little pricey but well worth it.

I always had beat of the mill routers and decided to stop messing around. I regret nothing. This has been the best router/modem combo I have used. Easy setup, great web interface along with mobile app. Can't wait to continue using it and seeing what I can do.

I upgraded from a 6 yr. old router to this and best decision ever. The set up was pretty easy. The only hiccup was it took a while for the firmware upgrade because Spectrum can't see the router/modem because of the outdated firmware. But once it was updated it was all green light. The app that controls the modem/router was easy to use and informative.

It's a great router even though it's a tad bit of overkill for me. Eventually, if Xfinity does offer more than Gigabit internet in my area, I'm at least ready. The range is excellent, reaching my Ring cameras at the other side of my house. The setup is pretty easy. Highly recommend!

The router is fantastic and performs as expected. The app is incredibly user-friendly, and I appreciate the ability to visually identify and categorize all my devices for better organization. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi bands, which enables older devices to connect to the 2.4GHz band while newer devices (such as iPhones and modern technology) can connect to the 5GHz band if preferred. However, there are a few drawbacks to consider. If you have a Google Nest Thermostat, it will only function on the 2.4GHz WiFi band (standard non-5G internet). Additionally, the router’s security settings are set to WPA3 by default. It’s crucial to switch this security setting via the NetGear App to WPA2/WPA3. The reason for this is that older devices (old smartphones, printers, thermostats, especially Google Nest) only support WPA2, while newer devices can function on WPA3 (like the ecobee New Smart Thermostat Enhanced). Consequently, most thermostats (especially Google Nest) will not connect to your WiFi network if it’s set to WPA3 security. Therefore, it’s essential to change the security setting to WPA2/WPA3.

I my upgrade to a NETGEAR Nighthawk Cable Modem WiFi 6 Router Combo has been great! Easy setup, great speeds, good performance info on the Nighthawk app! Love the multiple 1 gig ethernet ports!

My ISP (WOW) was giving me issues, even after upgrading my internet speed package, still was slow with buffering and drop issues. Researched and swapped out their equipment for this modem/router combo and my service has been better. I would recommend so far.

This device is amazing. I had no idea the difference it would make with my internet service using a different brand wifi receiver. Every device in my two story home has access and every device respond faster now and even my streaming devices have shown a world of difference. I admit the device is pricey but it is definitely worth it!
