Modem/Router kept dropping my internet connection. For as much as this cost and with technology the way it is, this shouldn’t have happened. Had this set up with a TP-Link Wi-Fi extender and it still dropped connection. Only a 2100 sq ft home so this should have been sufficient. After reading multiple reviews and forums, I see that this is an issue with this particular modem/router. Took it back and hooked up my old Netgear and it works flawlessly without dropping connection. Only reason I tried for the new one was for the Wi-Fi 6 capability and advertised extended range. Save your money til they figure this model out.

I purchased this modem/router combo as it was one of the recommendations for my internet service. The set up was easy, had to make a couple calls and have it registered to my provider. So far it has given me a reliable connection and it's much faster than the one I was renting before. We use a lot of streaming and gaming at our household and have seen no slowdowns or interruptions on our service, despite having up to 4 devices streaming together. I definitely recommend it if your provider supports it.

Good setup, hopefully the last one I have to purchase for years to come. (Until the move to fiber in my area) The app has trouble connecting for a while, had to reset the nighthawk a few times even though it was working, it wasn’t showing up in the app. I would say if you have lots of smart devices in your home and the router is the same frequency change the name and password to the same name and password as your old router and your devices will jump right over like nothing ever changed. I have 22 connected devices and changing the name is way easier than converting 22 devices over. Good overall product, but it is quite pricey.

I have no idea why there are any negative reviews, this is the most superior gateway I have ever used and I have been upgrading every 2 years because I always to have the latest and greatest and for once I feel like I will not be upgrading in 2 years and this one is here to stay longer. The amount of features and the range this provides in a all in one unit makes this the most appealing gateway on the market. This is what I was hoping for and never once thought it should valued for any less than retail. This is worth every penny if you are looking in particular a great all in one one unit.

I’m happy that I purchased this product. This modem is super fast, download takes only a second and streaming has no issue with HD and supports 4K streaming as well. I have a home theater with 4K and I have no problem encountered. Streaming and downloading is very fast and smooth. Easy set up.

Amazing! If you’re thinking about the Arris over this, go with this!
I tried the Arris Surfboard, after a week it stopped working and I have to reset the entire modem including settings and my account. It’s a known bug and they haven’t fixed it.
This worked out of the box, easy setup and runs like a dream. No bugs, no errors, consistent fast speeds all day.

This combo is a little pricy, but it makes up for it in the fast internet and quality that it provides. I also love the Nighthawk app. It allows me to see all of my devices that are currently connected as well as being able to test my internet speed among other useful features.

I read another customer's review (they really knew what they were talking about) when I was deciding to purchase a modem of my own instead of paying Xfinity's Monthly Rental. I am so glad I went with this Netgear Product. My ENTIRE household is using this bad boy! I am so impressed at the speed and strength of this modem. I use DirectTV Stream for ALL 6 TVs, I work from home so I am constantly online, my kids play on their devices plus stream using both upload speeds for live video calls with music and download speeds. My whole house is also running as a Smart home with wireless Apps, etc. I'm not sure if this is helpful to anyone, but I figured I'd try and give a real life (Non-tech wiz) picture of what we use this level of modem for. Worth every penny!

other than cox service this modem router combo has been great i get stronger signal all inside and outside the house consistently run 450+ mbps 2.4hz wifi even tho i have gigablast most of the time i don't get that running speed tests ps4 has been running wired in 600 mbps much better than the panoramic used garbage they tried to pawn off on me. Haven't had any over heating issues or haven't had to restart it yet, it was worth the investment

Great Router! Just Review the Specs!

The router is fantastic and performs as expected. The app is incredibly user-friendly, and I appreciate the ability to visually identify and categorize all my devices for better organization. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi bands, which enables older devices to connect to the 2.4GHz band while newer devices (such as iPhones and modern technology) can connect to the 5GHz band if preferred.
However, there are a few drawbacks to consider. If you have a Google Nest Thermostat, it will only function on the 2.4GHz WiFi band (standard non-5G internet). Additionally, the router’s security settings are set to WPA3 by default. It’s crucial to switch this security setting via the NetGear App to WPA2/WPA3. The reason for this is that older devices (old smartphones, printers, thermostats, especially Google Nest) only support WPA2, while newer devices can function on WPA3 (like the ecobee New Smart Thermostat Enhanced). Consequently, most thermostats (especially Google Nest) will not connect to your WiFi network if it’s set to WPA3 security. Therefore, it’s essential to change the security setting to WPA2/WPA3.
