Got this router due to a lot of positive reviews and reliability claims. I was unable to connect the device at all with ATT Uverse and following the ip passthrough method. I opened a case and called in to netgear for support. I was told “nobody is available try in 2-3 hours.” Seems like a nice router just didnt work out for me.

My wife works from home and needs a faster connection so i purchased this to help. I spent almost 2 hours trying to set it up. It connected to my modem once for about 2 minutes before it lost connection. Rehooked up my old netgear with no problem. This router is going back and ill look for another option.

This router is replacing a competitor router that I had the past 2 prior versions of. This is my first Netgear router and once I got it up and running it works great. I have fiber at my home and the speeds in my house range from anywhere from 500-800 mbps depending on bandwidth. My last router deteriorated speeds up to 200-300 mbps every room away from the main location so I had to buy extenders in 2 rooms just to get my tv and sound bar to work. Even then it was unreliable. With this Nighthawk it’s not a problem at all. In fact, I gave away my extenders because the degradation is only about 25-50 mbps in those rooms. I’m not sure how the signal is so much better but it sure is. The reason I took a star away is because the setup. No matter what I tried it would not connect. After watching some videos online I had to modify quite a bit in my provider modem settings and finally got it to connect. The last modem didn’t need anything done in the admin except for shutting down the modem’s network and 2.4 and 5 antennas. This one does require you shut down some firewall settings and allow IP pass through. Besides that it is a great modem and the app is way better than my last. Super easy to navigate and it actually shows you what is connected with a name such as LG Tv or Bose soundbar not just an IP address and a name of “network device “ like my old one. Definitely worth the money but unless you’re a network or computer whiz it will take some troubleshooting.

Was easy to set up. The extra port handy to have not used as intended. I have 3500 main house with an unattached garage. My property has about 8 wifi cameras and this help to eliminate slow responses or dead zone areas completely. I was shocked considering this is not a mesh router system. My current system is a mesh but had trouble at times with devices picking up smoothly from one mesh area to another. This was straightforward setup, turn off my old mesh system. Reuse the same password and router name and all my devices reconnected with no issues. Overall speed is good even on my wifi cameras located about 150 feet from the base. I like the wall mount capability to free up desk space and to elevate the router higher up for better performance. The mounting holes are large and allow for simple ability to mount without even need for ruler, just eyeball it worked for me. I like the flip up and down of the wings, very easy to flip up or down. The built in security suite also nice, vpn is easy to set up and use. The price is high but sale will make it a very nice buy.

A great router, but you may need manual setup

This sleek looking device, like an origami spaceship, is a powerful, fast router, but you should be prepared to do a manual setup. We’ll start with unpacking. Physical setup is a breeze; unbox the device, snap the antennae in place, and plug it into your modem and the wall. Network setup should be this easy, with a simple to follow app leading the way. In my case, however, the app told me everything was ready to go, yet I had no Internet access. I had to manually set it up by doing a route trace, using a browser to go to the router’s login page, and changing a couple of settings. If you’re used to setting up and diagnosing network issues, then no problem, but if you’re not, then you should have the customer support number handy in case the app doesn’t complete the required setup. Once up and running, this Netgear AXE7300 is a dream device. The signal is strong enough to broadcast through thick stucco walls. No matter how many devices I connected, there was no drop in speed or throughput. The tri-band feature with 6E support is blazingly fast, easily keeping up with anything I could throw at it. I particularly like that the device can be used as a standard router, a bridge, or an extender, something that not every router supports. Overall, this is an exceptionally powerful router for gaming, streaming, or other high-demand activities. Just don’t count on the simple app-driven setup working.

Netgear are one of the best when it comes to routers. They have a rich history when it comes to routers and they have offered some truly great devices. This Nighthawk AXE7300 is on that list. The Nighthawk line is aimed at gamers for the simple fact you get speed. They tend to be one of the fastest routers available on the market and this is more of tha same. The Nighthawk AXE 7300 is one of a few routers that allow for true gigabit speeds, many routers fail here and will only send around 60% of your total bandwidth around your home. It also features Wi-Fi 6E which is the latest in Wi-Fi speeds. If you have a compatible device you will get the 6ghz connection that allows for amazing low latency via a wireless connection. The unit will cover up to a 2500sqft home and I believe that as I live in a 1600sqft home and have great signal throughout. It offers the best coverage of any router I’ve used that’s not a mesh system. It’s very impressive when it comes to range. The app makes this very simple to setup. Just follow along and you’ll be up and running pretty quick. Overall this is a great router, it’s blazing fast with excellent range. I have not had any drops in connection or quality issues. It’s a great router

Worked great for the first week, Then started dropping internet connections randomly multiple times per day. By this i mean connection from router to the modem, not wifi connections from devices to router. Attempted to change every setting related to connections and nothing helps. Either this model has hardware defects or netgears firmware is bad.
