Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yes, the router was relatively easy to set up, although the GUI in the phone app is very slow to respond without any indication that it's doing anything. This was using an iPhone 16 Pro Max. 1 - the WiFi is inconsistent - devices keep getting dropped off the network at random. 2 - I was managing the router from a laptop, and at one point the browser popped up a message that there are too many devices connected to the router and you need to pay for their monthly service to get up to the 200 devices advertised (they never mentioned having to pay a monthly service to access something you shell out $400 for) 3 - Upon this message, my laptop was disconnected from the network. I used another laptop to connect, and found that the router blocked access to the first laptop because of the 20 device limit. So the router is going to randomly drop devices off the network if you happen to have (for example) 23 devices. This is unacceptable behavior for such an expensive piece of equipment. I will be returning the device as soon as I'm able to.

When experiencing intermittent connectivity, we recommend a few troubleshooting steps including ensuring your RS500 is on the latest firmware v1.0.5.22 as well as checking all connected cables such as power and ethernet are all fastened securely and in good condition. If your connected modem also acts as a router, change the settings for this device to Bridge Mode or AP mode to avoid any double NAT issues.

Flawed Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After updating my Nighthawk router’s firmware, several devices stopped connecting, and the device name database became corrupted, a known bug that Netgear has yet to resolve. Despite spending hours with Netgear support and opening multiple cases, their only fix was to downgrade the firmware, which resolved some connectivity issues but not the database problem. Support offered a trial firmware, but communication stalled and my cases disappeared from their website. This issue has persisted for over six months without resolution. I recommend avoiding this router and choosing another brand that better supports its products.

Incomprehensible intrusive privacy policy

So what are they hiding? How much of your personal browsing and email information are they selling or sharing? Only a Wall Street lawyer knows - and Netgear definitely does not want YOU to know, I returned the router.

Don't purchase if you use Verizon internet

Got super slow speeds despite having gigabit internet, switched it out for a tp-link router and had gogabit speeds instantly

Connection issues

To restore the connection, I have to reset the router.

Don't!!!

Very disappointed as i have used Nighthawks consistently for decades. The speed using a wired connection to xbox one and series x is absolutely amazing but trying to connect with wifi barely even connects at all. I get over 600mbs wired and only 20or less mbs wifi regardless of the channel and doesn't matter between the 2.4 or 5g and wifi 6 is not recognized for xbox. 2.4 it's actually usable but not fast because it just stays connected. I've followed all the steps to fix so either i have a defective product or the design itself is seriously flawed!!!

cannot handle more than 10 devices

Didn’t work.

Was on the phone with Nighthawk I.T for hours on 3 different phone calls for a day. Then just returned and went back to spectrums WiFi 7 router and haven’t had any problems. First night hawk I had was amazing. This one, not so much. Hoping it was just a bad egg in the thousands. Will try another someday.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Title: Fantastic Description: Title: Fantastic Description: I was so frustrated with my internet provider's modem/router unit that delivered half the speed I was paying for and constantly loosing it's internet signal. I couldn't even connect my detached garage door opener to the app because of lack of signal or barely get wifi on my front porch. I bought a Netgear modem, router and switch got everything connected and now I get exactly the speed I'm paying for! I can actually surf the web on my laptop on my network from the neighbors yard across the street and get better speed in my garage with the door closed than I use to get in my living room. The difference is simply astounding. I haven't had a buffering or lost internet connection yet. Do yourself a favor, spend the money buy your own Netgear equipment and ditch your providers junk.

Easy install

Speed is excellent, covers the entire home, including the basement TVs. The only thing is that if you have some older TVs and computers, some may not accept, but we found a way to adjust based on different levels of acceptance. Overall, I strongly recommend.
