Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Nighthawk Mesh X4S Wall-Plug Tri-Band WiFi Mesh Extender's impressive WiFi range, ease of use, and setup simplicity. Many appreciate the improved signal strength and expanded coverage it provides throughout their homes. While some experienced occasional connectivity issues or found the device's size somewhat large, the positive feedback on performance and range significantly outweighs the negative comments. The extender is generally considered effective at extending WiFi coverage.

If you need more covers in your house get a mesh wifi system. This causes you to drop connection when moving around the house

This works great for about one or two week intervals then it will do something to the entire network so nothing can connect. Even just rebooting the extender and the router doesn't seem to fix problem. The extender must be removed from the outlet. If I unplug the extender and reboot the main router my network will run great and days, and months. This has be validated to be consistent behavior over the course of a year. I use a Cisco (formerly Linksys) router with this extender. I do not recommend this device and will not go with Netgear extenders nor routers.

Didn’t work for me with my X8. Connected then kept dropping. Have since tried Orbi which failed miserably having to reset every hour just to keep connection. Now on Google WiFi and so far it has been flawless.

Best WIFI Extender, the best internet investment

Netgear Nighthawk X4S AC2200, provides a strong & reliable connection to internet, no matter what part of your home you are in. One of the best WIFI Extenders on the market today. The range on the X4S AC2200 is remarkable. The signal i get is strong, It covers my 5 bdrm, 3 bath., house w/ no deadzones, my backyard, & front yard are equally covered as well. The set-up is very easy, & your able to set-up the X4S AC2200 your way. If you do not own the Nighthawk X4S AC2200, you need to go out & get one, you will not struggle w/ signal dropping, nor deadzone in your home whatsoever. If you want internet signal & strength anywhere in your home w/ no deadzones, then invest in the Netgear Nighthawk X4S AC2200

I purchased this for improving the coverage at my 2,200 sqft house and it stopped working after few months (couldn’t return to Best Buy) contacted the manufacturer and after a long headache they replaced it for me but still not working well with frequent interruptions and not providing good range. Very disappointed and I would never buy Netgear products again, actually I am looking for an alternative currently.

Returned item, I would recommend the Ubiquiti Amplifi system as it is much easier to mesh and has superior range.

This extender has to be restarted every other day to work. I've updated to latest firmware, done factory reset and still drops signal to multiple devices. I had the ex6100 before and did not have near this many issues. About to return to Best buy and use the old one. Thought it would be a good upgrade. Guessed wrong. Check the Netgear community forums and you will see many posts about this item's issues and zero resolution.

This "extender" didn't work for me although i tried several locations. I would highly recommend only investing in the new "Mesh Wifi" network products
