I live in a 4000 sq ft home and I found it frustrating at times that I was getting slow internet speeds or none at all. I tried every router and none really solved the problem. Although the Asus AC-88U was the one that give me the best internet signal and speed. But I was still not happy as I have Comcast 200Mbps plan and only saw 10-15 mbps at times. I would have videos that buffered and I found it frustrating. I had gotten a Netgear Wifi Extender a couple years ago and it did not work all that great. But I wanted to try anything so I went and got this wifi extender. I can tell you that this thing is amazing. I've never had a dropped signal so far and I've had it for over a month. My speeds are 50-80 mbps now and I don't have those buffering issues anymore. Not only that this things is quite small so I am able to hide it underneath my kitchen island counter. I normally don't like to write reviews but I thought that I should in this case as I know alot of people are frustrated with their wifi speeds or have places that are dead spots in there homes. I don't know how it will work in every home but this has been amazing for me. I would definitely recommend you get this if you can. My only complaint is it's kinda expensive but overall well worth it for me.

I've had a problem with WiFi on one back corner of my 3000sqft home since I've lived there. I have bought several different range extenders. Was ready to start over with POE switch and start putting APs all over the house. I got the Nighthawk AC Tri-band range extender, plugged it in over half way across the house from my ASUS RT-AC68U router. I ran through setup, it had a firmware update available, updated it, and it has run flawless and I now have non-stop high speed WiFi past the back corner of the house and into the backyard. I really wan't expecting much after previous experiences with Range extenders, high gain antenna's etc... but this one sold me. You should not be disappointed with this product, unless maybe you live in a faraday cage. :))

I used the Nighthawk Wi-Fi Range Extender expand the reach of the 5GHz band of my wireless network. I was very impressed with the ease of setting the extender up. I used the WPS setup option to connected it to my current router. It was a simple as plugging the extender in to a power outlet near my router and hitting the WPS buttons on both devices. After it had received a solid connection, I moved the extender to its final location upstairs. The extender has convenient status icons to let you know when you have it in an ideal location. I would not hesitate to recommend this router to less tech literate family members considering how easy it was to setup. My desktop automatically connected to the extender using the 5GHz band. This was a marked improvement from the more crowded 2.4GHz band that it had to use previously. The signal strength on the 5GHz band was also stronger then I had been receiving on the 2.4GHz band previously. I tested the difference this made by comparing the ping times while playing a game. I saw a direct drop from an 80-90ms ping down to 50ms. In some limited additional performance testing, I was able to use steam remote play with a significant reduction in input lag. I have also noticed that transferring large files between my network storage drive and my desktop now completes much quicker. I got this extender because I recently got the x4s modem router combo. My extender that I had as an access point originally died so I decide to go to with this Mesh Extender.. I now have one signal all across the house and my speed is 100 - 150 mbit everywhere I go (I pay for 150 from comcast). The only draw back is that you cant wire directly in as an access point. It would be more constant at 150mbit but in all works great. Setup was stupid easy. Just hit the WPS button on your modem/router and the WPS button on the extender and kaboom you are connected.

I was pleasently surprised at the amount of extended coverage I received. The speed was not compromised and I have not dropped connection. Great extender so far! and so easy to setup...Highly recommend.

The Setup was fairly simple. It was a simple as plugging the extender in to a power outlet near my router and hitting the WPS buttons on both devices. After it had received a solid connection, I moved the extender to its final location upstairs. It strengthens the signal of my Wi-Fi on the second floor. However, I had already also bought a Google Wi-Fi Mesh system and with that in place, this guy is not able to add much more value. Even though both this extender and Google Mesh give you 5 bar connection, somehow Google Mesh has a better download capacity. Having said that, if you do not have any other system, I would recommend this router to less tech literate families considering how easy it was to setup. I received this WiFi Mesh Extender from NETGEAR to test and review. This is my truly unbiased review on this product: First off the setup was a little tricky. For some reason I couldn't get the extender to connect to my Netgear Nighthawk X4 AC2350 Router. I tried several times with no luck. I finally updated my router and the extender then connected with no issues. So make sure your router is updated before setup. Other than the setup, this extender is amazing. I now have full WiFi signal throughout my 1500 square foot home. I also have 75% WiFi signal in my garage and on my driveway where I had no WiFi signal at all before. My most favorite thing about this extender is that it uses your current WiFi name and password so theres no switching WiFi while walking thru your home. It just works the way all extenders should have. I highly recommend this extender to all my friends and family. I'm actually buying one for my parents' house since their WiFi signal throughout their home is horrible. It is worth every penny.

I purchased this in May of 2018 to address a weak signal in the game room upstairs. I have a NetGear Nighthawk wireless router and the Wii U had no problem picking it up. However, the Nintendo Switch dropped games and connections constantly. I followed the instructions for manual setup next to the wireless router, then moved the extender to a location on the second floor about half way between the switch console and the wireless router downstairs. Worked as advertised and ended all connection issues with the Switch in the game room. Four stars as I could not get the auto-connect to the router to work and had to factory reset the device once and start afresh. Uses same passcode as the wireless router.

I have been using a Nighthawk Router for several years. It works great but I need to extend my range due to the size and layout of our home. I tried traditional extenders but they were too slow and cumbersome. I've heard a lot about "Mesh Systems" but was reluctant to try them because of the cost. When I saw this NIghthawk Mesh that works with my current router I decided to give it a try. Our home has been enlarged and several of the interior walls are thick and full of rebar, so range has been a problem. I have had the Mesh extender for two weeks and am really happy and impressed. It set-up so easy I was concerned that I may have missed something. Within a just a few minutes I was getting 5-bars everywhere in my 4000 sq ft home, and even 50 feet into my outdoor patio. We have seven tvs, all of which have smart devices, and now have a signal strong enough for any and all of them to work without abnormal buffering. So, once again, I highly recommend this product for hassle free installation and excellent performance.

This was a great product to help reach the end of the house, my kids were so excited to be able to watch netflix from their rooms! Setup was incredibly easy, and took a matter of minutes! I did receive this product from NETGEAR for free, but it has no influence on this review, it was perfect for our house!

This range extender is very easy to install and use. I was having issues with my chrome cast dropping signal and now it's streaming flawlessly. WPS works like a charm to connect it to your existing router. I'm using a dual band router, but a tri band would be even better. I received this product free from Netgear.

For me, the extender did not automatically connect to my wifi despite 3 attempts. However, going the online option to set up the extender worked flawlessly. One thing I wish was that there was a way to turn off the LED's as my extender is located in my bedroom. But a little electrical tape fixed that problem. Very strong signal. No issues. Love my purchase.

I got this range extender to help extend my router range downstairs. There were a few dead spots before setting this up. The setup was quick and easy; just find an outlet at where you want the extender to be and then use WPS to connect to the main router and you are set. I especially like the feature that it does not require a separate SSID so there are no additional network to configure; just use the same credentials as the main router. This would be a good upgrade to a mesh network. This product exceeded my expectation in both the speed performance and reliability. Hey everyone, I don't consider myself to be super "tech savvy," but this setup is super easy to install- even for me. I just plugged it in and set it up in a few minutes from my phone. The results were apparent instantly and blew my previous router out of the water! My original router was centrally setup in the downstairs living room, but I was having trouble getting wi-fi to the upstairs rooms. Even my bedroom downstairs had a poor signal. My house is 2800 sq ft (2 floors) with lots of hallways and doors to block signals. After installing the Orbi system, I have complete house coverage! I recently "cut the cord," so I have a chromecast or amazon fire tv/ firestick on every tv in the house. With my old router, these systems would "buffer" every few minutes or stream in super low quality. Now the whole family can stream high definition movies on every tv, play video games online, and surf the web on phones/laptops without losing speed at all. I highly recommend this product- I pay good money for fast internet, and now I can finally use it throughout the whole house. I got this product as part of the NETGEAR First Look Review Program.

Until I bought this extender I've been happy with Netgear products, having bought Netgear Routers, modems, and Wifi adapters in the past. I cannot recommend Netgear extenders. This was the second extender I bought having had to return an AC 3000 I bought several days before purchasing AC 2200 extender. I called Netgear tech support to make sure I had it configured properly. Even though the extender is installed about 10 ft. from my laptop and desktop and is about 20 ft from my router, the signal strength gained is minimal. I will likely buy another extender from a different manufacturer.
