    Great extender

The original set-up for the extender with a Netgear router was easy: however when I replaced the router with the exact same model I had trouble pairing the two. It can be done but don't expect much help from Netgear,

Works pretty good, but now I am having problems with the Netgear router I purchased to go with it.

The unit worked better than expected. I have two routers hooked together. I thought it would be complicated and problematic. God instructions and easy to follow. Now I have plenty of roaming in my house and backyard.

Had a Nighthawk Router and needed an extender. The extender I had was reducing my bandwidth because it wasn't a mesh type. This device allowed me to extend my network without changing network name and not reducing bandwidth like traditional extenders.

This was very easy to setup. I used the WPS function to sync it to my main router. Then I took it to another part of my house and plugged it in. I logged in through mywifiext.com to access a few settings—such as turning off the LED lights.

I have had issues with the placement of this extender to keep it from dropping signal and devices. I do not care for the limited programming options when in extender mode and do not like the lack of Netgear support. I have to reboot this thing more than necessary in my opinion. So in short, I have had my share of frustrations with this extender and I will look at other brands when this one dies.

We recently moved into a two story home. My office is upstairs, and the internet connection & modem are downstairs. We researched signal boosters, etc, and settled on this one. It works great!! Wifi signal is now available even on the back deck!

My access point died so I got this as a replacement. I figured since it was a Nighthawk device, it would work as a great upgrade and it was on sale! Connected it to my Nighthawk router and it caused nothing but trouble. I could connect to wireless and get to nothing. Reset it with support on the phone and same thing. Even killed the wired connections. As soon as I would turn it off, everything worked. On and instant kill for all internet connections. Support wanted me to RMA it-nope-back in the box for a refund the same day and purchased something else. Another story on that-it was half DOA (extender would not connect to main router).

    Never able to connect; Returned

Spectrum internet, modem and router downstairs, with poor connection upstairs. I called Spectrum, ran all the speed tests, and was advised to get an extender only (not one with a router or a mesh system). I bought this Extender because it was supposed to be seamless. I could not get it to connect using the app. I called Netgear customer service and was told to reset it and then they tried to sell me an extended warranty. I called Spectrum again and had them come to my house. Spectrum could not get the Extender to connect, and instead was able to get their router working better so the connection upstairs improved. I returned the Extender to Best Buy. No issues with getting and returning the Extender to Best Buy. 1 star because the Extender never worked and I had to return it.

Having tried lesser wifi extenders, even earlier version of Netgear equipment, I decided to go with the tri-band top of the line. It definitely does not disappoint. Great performance and coverage, easy setup, couldn't endorse it more!

I purchased this to cut down on the dead space in my home. Both my wife and I work on our computers at the same time and we had noticed this slowed down our connection. Once I put this into operation it improved our connection significantly.

I upgraded to this after my EX8000 quit on me. As a techie this is suppose to be a 20 minute setup but I have spent a considerable amount of time trying to set this up. My conclusion is either It is not compatible with my R8000P or this unit is faulty. It is suppose to be backward compatible. I will return to store.

Worked fine for couple of weeks and then started getting following issues. 1. Router connection will be there but three is no internet connectivity. Tried disconnecting and connecting back, but issue persisted. Had to reset the router multiple times to solve. This keeps happening again and again. 2. TMobile wifi calling doesn't work properly and voice comes distorted. Had to disconnect my phone from WiFi when ever I get call. This issue doesn't happen when I directly connect to netgear main router. When it works, I get excellent speed. But this doesn't work most of the time and not reliable.

Works great. I would definitely recommend to a friend. Only down fall is if you have a lot of different items running it slows the internet down a little with the box on.

This may actually be a great extender, but I never got it to work. I have a great knowledge of hooking up this type of equipment, so I was really upset I couldn't get it to work. The extender hooked right up to my router (Linksys WRT 3200 asm . All lights were white-great. The problem was the website that you had to get on to make it work. Once you get on the site, they suggest you update-been that route before, so I updated. You then sign onto the next site. But, it vanishes in mid-stream. I'm signed up, ready to get my passwords set and all disappears. And you can't find that page again-I tried, over and over. I reset everything and started over. Same results. I went to the Netgear troubleshooting. That's when I discovered an endless amount of customers with same issues. When I researched this, I went over and over multiple sites, reviews and no one mentions this issue. To be fair, this probably is a great product...I just couldn't get the website to cooperate. But, I did find out that my new linksys router is an awesome product. It covers my entire 3700 sq. Ft. house. I have no extender. I returned it and am enjoying full wifi. Linksys reviews for their router was correct. Fast, long distance. But, I really wanted the extender to work. I hope others can do so.
