Piece of Junk Terrible Best Buy return policy
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Could never get it to work. Would never complete set up. Updated to newest firmware and that did not help. Originally thought it was my Comcast connection. After Comcast came to my house and did a total analysis it was determined it is this extended. It is defective. Now it is past the sorry limited 14 day return policy. Stuck with a piece of crap product. Now I have to go through Netgear. Never will I buy from Best Buy again. Terrible customer service or better to say no customer service.

Needs reboot every 10 - 12 hours
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.10 - 12 hours after rebooting Nighthawk, devices can not connect. Any device trying to connect gets an error - "Failed to Obtain IP Address". I have to reboot it every 10 - 12 hours for it to work. NI have worked with Netgear Tech support, who were not much help. They made me factory reset it a number of times, but it is no good. It is just an expensive brick for me

Garbage right out of the box.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything seemed to be going fine when setting up the unit at first. It took a few tries to find the Netgear wifi connection through the app. Once it did the firmware update the unit froze with blinking lights front and blinking green power light. I tried to reset and nothing worked. it just became a brick. I signed up on their technical support site to get a case number for faster phone support (like they suggested) and after 30 minutes on hold, I hung up.

Good WiFi extender - Poor Mesh Capability
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased 2 of the Nighthawks for my AT&T wireless network. As a WiFi extender, it worked well. However, the mesh capability did not work. The hand off between the 2 Nighthawks and the WiFi modem to maintain the strongest signal did not work. And at times when I would launch a computer the computer would grab the weakest signal. The product may work well with other modems- but it doesn't Mesh with the AT&T network

2 stars for 2 months
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It barely worked for 2 months before my family started complaining again about loss of internet, major lag in the xboxes and dropped calls. (We have 2 Xboxes, 3 iPads, 6 iPhones and a Verizon cellphone extender.) I returned this for the Linksys.

Connection is really unstable
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I've had this model for a few months now, and I honestly don't even understand how its so bad. The stats read out well says I have 200mbps and perfect connection on my devices. But there is a lot of long pauses in loadtimes. It really has been annoying me lately cause I've moved it several times to fix it. And it hasn't changed anything. It's only about 30 feet and two walls away from my router. And 10 feet from the two devices it is connected to. And it still struggles. I honestly have just been hooking up to my router cause its more dependable. And this thing is pretty expensive to have mess up so quick.

Insufficient Capacity for our needs
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased two to extend the coverage of the Netgear router & they could not support our household devices without lags and failure to connect to the WIFI around our home, Had to have the Geek Squad out for repairs multiple times

Let the Buyer Beware!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nighthawk Mesh X6S Tri-Band WiFi Mesh Extender is the worst Netgear device I have ever purchased. I returned the first one to Netgear because it constantly reset to the factory default settings. After paying $20 to Netgear to send me a replacement, that one also resets itself to factory default settings, requiring me to do a new install. If this is not bad enough, when it is working, it messes up my primary router, causing it to disconnect or not run connected devices as it should. I would not buy this device again.

WiFi Extender from the Future
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The NETGEAR Nighthawk X6S WiFi Range Extender (EX8000) is the perfect compliment to my home network. I had a few low signal spots in my back yard and garage and this worked perfectly to extend the coverage to those areas. I regularly listen to videos or streaming audio while I work outside and I need a reliable connection to make that work. Having a internet speed of 150 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up I was not getting anywhere close to these speeds without the new NETGEAR extender. Now, I regularly get speeds around 120 down and 8 up. The unboxing of the unit is easy and it includes a power adapter with plug in transformer that fits sideways in my power strip. My box did not contain an ethernet cable so you will need to provide your own if you want to connect a non-WiFi device such as a desktop or game console. Setup was easy and I used my iPhone. The instructions provided by NETGEAR are clear and concise. The website you access is helpful with getting your unit setup with your own router. One that note, this unit compliments a home network setup with an existing router and does not perform routing by itself. Overall, this product is perfect for my setup and pricing is in line with other devices of similar quality. I high recommend this device and I’m excited to continue using it in my home. I received this product free as part of the NETGEAR First Look Review Program.

Awful purchase. Internet is worse than ever
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don’t know what else to say but bad. Never worked. Spent tireless hours trying to “re-set it up”. Chats, etc. I even increased my internet from 100 to 400 thinking that might help. Get worse reception in my house and lose internet frequently. I never had an issue in my house. Was trying to extend to backyard area. Now I don’t get anywhere near what I had previously without it hooked up. Any want to buy it? If you’re going to sell junk, please be available to help answer questions too

Didn't Make a Difference
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was trying to extend the usable range on my existing Netgear router. The setup was reasonably easy, but I didn't see a meaningful change to my network speed in the areas I was trying to improve.

It's ok
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I honestly didn't like this product. It was easy to setup, but my speed fluctuated a lot. I ended up returning this product and purchased the Linksys with the four antennas. That one is amazing!!!

Definitely didn’t work in my house
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this extender because our Wi-Fi signal doesn’t reach the upstairs bedroom, even though we live in a townhouse. I followed the steps on the app and installed the extender as instructed. It actually made access to the Wi-Fi even worse. I couldn’t get on the internet from locations in the house where I previously had no issues. I returned this unit for a refund. Still searching for a solution.

||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent a lot of time trying to get this to connect wirelessly to my wifi source and yet be far enough away to get a decent signal on my pool patio. I returned it.
