The spectrum router that comes bundled with our internet was unable to handle 3 smart TV's, 5 Smart phones & 3 Playstaions and one Xbox and a nintendo switch. And 5 PC's I know thats a lot but I enjoy playing Call of duty modern warfare and even with an ethernet connected to my playstation it would lag. I decided I had enough as I could not enjoy my game. I got this on sale for $250 and I had watched reviews on YouTube and knew this was the router for me. There is another Knight Hawk router that's more powerful but if you're only trying to pay half the price this is the one. Setting-up was a breeze and it was up in running in less then 30 minutes. First of all the speeds of download 600 MBPS and uploads of 30 and thats me using a 5 Cat ethernet, I'm waiting for my ethernet cat 8 to arrive and I'm sure we will see better speeds but man lag free with lots of devices on the wifi. It has an awesome interface to see what it using up the most juice and you can even balance it out. I have the auto 5g & 2G on which picks the best range and power for your device. Man I am super happy I plan on getting a modem to go with it as I have read and done my research that it can improve your speed as well.

Being new to any router outside of what my ISP gave during initial setup, I was worried about the ease of installation. The NetGear router was extremely user-friendly to setup and has improved our speeds dramatically. We have two ps4s, two streaming TVs, multiple phones, and iPads going all at one time. This router has allowed us all to stream with no more lag or buffering messages. I love that I can also control who connects and when from my computer!

So, you use internet for so many things in your house, but most people want a cheap $60 router for wifi. That makes no sense. You dont buy one every year. Get the good stuff. I was blown away by this. Got rid of extender and I get 450mbps throughout whole condo; I only pay for 300.

I am very picky about my having the best ping and this router is full of options to help you get the best connection for your gaming consoles. Solid performance to, we have 12 internet devices connected to it. I noticed a big improvement playing online. Lag is gone :)

When I first purchased this router I almost returned it. It would constantly reset the internet and I had to unplug the unit from the modem and the plug it back in. This went on for approximately two weeks. I obtained a newer modem from my provider and it fixed this annoying problem. Now I cannot say enough about this router. I actually give it a 4.5 due to the Dunas software not being like my old Netgear genie software, where as NO ONE could join my network without my permission. I can still remove people, but not automatically stop them from joining (of course you still need a password to join the network.... but I want to more control). The older software was better for me due to this safeguard. The router is everything you need for gaming... you can tweak your system to perfection.

With so many different options out there, it's hard to make a choice. I read lots of reviews and the price ranger went from ~$100 to $500+. This was below $300, not cheap, but well worth it, as it has worked out wonderfully! The main reason for choosing this router is because it is a Netgear router with DumaOS. My last router was made by Netgear. It had great WiFi strength and I've heard that about Netgear routers in general. As for DumasOS, it's great and easy to use. I'm tech savvy but not crazy about having to get into all the specifics of router settings. This router helps with bufferbloat (search this term, if you are unaware of what it is) and it does a great job with QOS (quality of service), as well. There is a noticeable difference with using this over my older $100 router. I'm happy i purchased this router.

I currently use this router in a LAN capacity for gaming and streaming and WiFi (5 and 2.4 GHz) for video streaming services on consoles and regular social media activities on tablet devices most of the time simultaneously with no drop in services. I switched to this router from an ASUS RT-AC86U and have been extremely satisfied with its performance. Setup is extremely simple and hassle free but allows experienced users to manipulate and setup your network as you see fit. Interface allows users to select regional servers you with to queue for for most modern games helping the reduction in lag. I’ve barely noticed any compromise to services while playing multiplayer games. WiFi ranges throughout a two story apartment with no compromise to quality.

I was reluctant to spend a good chunk of change on a router, but when I heard fiber optic was in my area I couldn’t help myself to go ham. The router itself would withstand all my devices and more. I have a lot of computers, gaming consoles, and smart lights in my house that normally would flood a any other router. But by far my favorite aspect of this router is the downloadable program that comes with it, I’m easily available to see any and all devices connected to it and able to tether the bandwidth to whatever device in a way that’s simple enough for me to not feel like an idiot fumbling though screens I don’t fully understand. In conclusion, I believe this is an excellent purchase and was worth every penny.

I love the OS this has and it is fast for newer devices and did well to increase my range compared to an old Linksys from 2008, but my ps3 is crap still without it wired and even then I can't get better than about 15mbps with it and it wouldn't recognize my Philips Hue bridge so I had to hook that up to the ATT modem/router. Otherwise i'm getting 60 mbps on cell phones and more like 80 mbps on my directly wired desktop and I can get signal clear across the house an into a detached garage and out into the yard. And I have the XR5000, not sure why i see the AC2600 in my review pic...

We increased our internet speed at the same time we got this new router so it is hard to say how much this router improved our internet speed. Either way, since we got it we have not had internet issues so I don't regret the purchase. There are 3 kids in online school and one adult working from home everyday here. We were unable to function until I upped the internet speed and bought this router. We have a 2300sq ft 2 story house. Two rooms upstairs could not connect to the wifi on our old router. Everyone can zoom, work, play video games, or stream movies in every room of the house at the same time now.

If I get booted before done screw it. Yes this is one heck of a cool looking piece of tech. I believe i i paid 215. or so for it and got a 50 dollar gift card for it. Not a bad deal so in total if you count the card I paid a little over 165 for it plus tax. Mowe will this make you a beat at call of duty no will it make you a insane sniper in ghost recon um no will it make you a god in halo I think not. And it won't really boost your speeds you will be limited to what your service provider and your wallet allows you to be. I would have liked to give it a little better than a 4 le a 4.5 but wasn't a option and a 5 in my opinion should be un ascertainable. But to each there own the design on this thing is just awesome it reminds of a stealth fighter I just wish it had mounting hardware so I could mount flush on the wall. Plus the customization you can do with the hardware is insane quite intimidating at first glance but I am thoroughly enjoying playing with it. Just mind you that this will not boost your internet speed it can only work with the signal coming in allows it to. But it can prioritize what device gets the more dedicated service and for me I did upgrade my service router and modem all away once and it sped my downloads pig a 60gb game to less than an hour and sometimes almost a half hour. Instead of 8 to 16 hours they were previously taking me to before. Thanks for taking the time to read this and if you have more questions about this when done reading. I would suggest looking it up on youtube. And watching a couple of videos on it some pretty good ones out there. Final thought if you do plan on up grading do some research yourself I won't say this about best buy but I did kind of le what I wanted before taking to the sales guy. But if you walk in to some places and first question you are going to ask is well you think that this one can do bla bla bla they are going to size you up right then and determine what they think you are willing to spend some sales people will pain out ask you that is so they can get the most of your buck for there bang and little to do with what you really need. Mind I said I can not stress enough this was not my experience at this bestbuy but has been before at many different electronic shops. So do your homework and le what you are looking for before you go or at least have a map in your head for where you want to end up. Thanks for reading and game on.

Easy to setup. As long as you know a little about networking. I don’t deal with lag when playing games while everyone else is on my network. Easy to adjust the qos.

Not much to say other than this: IF you’re like me, have quite a few devices at home, and need a quality QoS interface, and network monitor or geo filter...this is THE router for you, look no further. I am a heavy gamer, heavy streamer, and need something that’ll reach all corners of my 2 bedroom condo, whilst delivering optimal wireless speed to my gaming devices. This does the trick and I love the DumaOS online interface.

This router does what it supposed to do helps you connect to the lowest ping near you, lags in game and many more. The only thing is finding the right settings for you and that depends on your internet plans and how many devices you have which can change your game play depending the game your playing especially with multiplayer games.

We have 2 computers, a tablet, 5 phones, 2 consoles, an exercise bike and even our control panel for our solar system the require WiFi. Our old router would bog down when everyone was online. I bought this router to improve the overall WiFi coverage in the house and improve speed to the kids Xbox. It is stable, fast & Easy to configure and doesn't slow down.

I really like this router I have probably owned more routers and modems then any one should. I currently have This bad boy along with the nighthawk x6 and the nighthawk extender. I really don't need the extender with this anymore the wifi on this router is amazingly strong, I was outside bbqing today and my pro gaming router that's in the basement I was getting a strong signal with at the grill. The apps like geo filtering is pretty cool I been playing call of duty for hours with out a laggy game. as soon as people enter the lobby it shows you the ping before the game even starts I back out as soon as it gets above 60 ping. The only con about this router is I wish it came out 10 years ago. I could go on and on about all the cool things like the qos anti-bufferbloat that helps keeps games lag free . The dashboard is pretty awesome also you can add what you want to see as soon as you go onto the router webpage. If your on the fence about getting this for a gift or buying it for your self just do it you wont regret it.
