We have 2 computers, a tablet, 5 phones, 2 consoles, an exercise bike and even our control panel for our solar system the require WiFi. Our old router would bog down when everyone was online. I bought this router to improve the overall WiFi coverage in the house and improve speed to the kids Xbox. It is stable, fast & Easy to configure and doesn't slow down.

Needed to upgrade my old router to something with better speed and support for multiple devices for gaming and streaming. And this has definitely done the job. Very impressed with this router. A bit pricey, but worth the cost. Only downside is no wifi 6 support so will have to upgrade again when I actually have devices that support that.

Suits all my needs and works great with Cox Gigablast. The best thing in my opinion is DumaOs and it’s ease of use along with the user interface. Let you see all your devices and what’s using the most bandwidth etc. a bit pricey but great for gamers, streaming and all your devices.

I received this router as part of the Netgear first look program and the consistent data speed and ping say it all (see the attached picture). This is a fantastic gaming router that is packed with useful features to get the most out of your game play. - Easy, intuitive setup as expected from Netgear - Incredibly informative and easy to configure DumaOS interface allows you to configure your experience for maximum performance - Four antenna, MU-MIMO is remarkably fast combining 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands - Unique design looks right at home with popular gaming systems

Netduma has been on the market for quite sometime now and i have been eyeballing it ever since inception, i just couldn't justify having the router they originally had but all that changed this year . Welcome the NetGear NightHawk XR500 the best router in the world and if you are wondering why it's because Duma OS which literally Will Geo lock your selected region to any game you have . I'm playing COD WW2 and the pain i experienced before having this router drove me to quite the franchise all together BUT this router had made me a believer that fair game play can be accomplished but at a price . 299 might seem steep Trust me it is not ! Stop reading and do yourself a favor , if you play multiplayer games like Destiny 2 COD or any other FPS this is a must have . Setting this router up is so easy a 4 year old can do it but it has the power of a jet engine underneath it all, Save the cash or if you have it just buy it now . I was skeptical at first but trust me this is the real deal .

This router is awesome! My network has a minimum 5 devices running at any given time and this router handles the traffic with ease. The set up is quick and easy, the range is amazing (3 bar signal all over my multilevel home), and the dashboard can be customized to highlight things most important to you. I would recommend this to anyone.

For some time now I had been dealing with connection issues in multiplayer online games. What it stemmed from was when the game connected other players via Peer to Peer connections. If I played someone with a high ping, especially overseas players, I was having a very frustrating time playing. The Dumas OS software that comes with this device is a life saver. I utilized the Geofilter function and I'm able to exclude players outside of an 800-mile radius from me. Now, my gaming sessions are free from frustration. I actually enjoy being the party leader now, cause I know the games won't be bogged down by players with bad ping. I wish I could say something about the Wi-Fi, but I've been plugging directly into the router for the meantime. However, I may need to start using the Wi-Fi in the near future, so I'll update this review if needed.

With 5 family members our old router couldn't keep up. Gaming started to lag. So we upgraded to this router and it has been great. It was very easy to setup and the priority for our gaming devices makes sure no matter how many connections we have there is no more lag. Worth the extra $$

Had to get rid of the Xfinity cable modem and this one fits the bill perfectly! Blazing fast speed and can reach all parts of the house. It pays for itself after a year or two of use. The kids like the speed for gaming of course.

I like the Netgear brand. There was nothing wrong with the former Netgear route, that I have had for nearly six years. I just thought I would upgrade so that my child would have online classes that were clear. The results are nearly the same, except it seems as though there is.more interference between devices, such as the microwave and t.v. My internet speed is 20mbps upload and 20 mbps download. It was not as complicated to install, as I was lead to believe. It took about two and a half hours from start to finish. The unit seems lighter weight than the older unit, although the new one is larger. I recommend this as a good quality product.

I say invisible in a good way, because this router does its job effectively. The setup is dummy-proof and the web registration is too. I've had it running for about 3 weeks now and my ping has been consistently low throughout.

This router is dependable and quite configurable but lacks some features. For instance, it has two USB ports but only supports DLNA. It allows for configuration of OpenVPN, but only interfaces with a few vendors for VPN services to 3rd party VPN Servers. That being said, it’s super dependable and fast. It has a great UI for network monitoring and configuration. It also allows you to name your devices so you can determine if someone should connect to your network in an unauthorized fashion. It also allows QoS configurarion which can be done by device, service, or device type (Xbox, PS4, etc). Overall a great router as long as you are not needing the features that it doesn’t support.

I have been wanting to buy this router for some time as I have heard great things about it. Recently, the connection in my house wasn't good enough and I was getting dropped signals from my old Netgear N600 router. On my old device I couldn’t get a good connection in multiple locations in my house. Such as the hot tub a floor up and right outside from it (<5 mbps), the corner TV upstairs (<10 mbps), the laptop from the other side of the house, and the garage (<0.1 mbps) out of 300 mbps down and 30 up. Yikes. With this guy I'm getting >300 (315 - 330) mbps on the 5ghz channel on my iPad Pro no matter where I am in the house. So, yes there has been a massive improvement there. My 300 down is also barely scrapping the surface of the speeds this guy is capable of which means I’m future proofed for a good long while. The next thing I bought the router for is the gaming features. Specifically, Geo-Filter and QoS. The Geo-Filter allows you to select specific devices (Gaming PC/Console) and set how far it will connect to a server to ensure that you have the lowest latency possible. Since gaming with this I have had very low ping times. Although when gaming with friends it doesn't work as well. QoS just allows you to select the bandwidth that a specific device can use while other devices are on the network. For example, someone is streaming Netflix and you are playing COD. Instead of Netflix taking all 300 of the network you can make it so it only takes 10 so the rest is reserved for gaming. That example is overkill but it gets the point across. So, if you are in a home with a ridiculous amount of connected devices this will be able to handle it beautifully as it comes with a lot of power under the hood to not get it to overheat or max out. I have 15 devices connected currently and at other times I have up to 11 more and haven’t had any evidence of it slowing down. Security. It comes with the latest greatest security. The best part is you can go to "Device Manager" and it will show every single device that is connected to your network or that has been. It even breaks them down from 2.4 ghz, 5 ghz, hard wired, and offline. I did have to go around and find the addresses for some of my devices and relabel them. But now it’s easy to see all my devices which I love. You can block specific devices such as your child who hasn't done their homework yet from getting on the internet which is awesome. I also have not had to port trigger/port forward anything as the router automatically has been opening those gaming sites when I'm actively playing giving me an open NAT and closing it when I’m not gaming. But if I do have to do that it is incredibly simple and straightforward. And the "port triggering" is more secure than the "port forward" from my understanding. Which not every router has which is also much appreciated as I want the best gaming experience but also the most security. Other security features are as follows. You can hide your network name from others. So unless someone knows the exact name they cannot connect. You can also setup a guest network, and hide that name, if you wish. That way you don’t have to share your own network password with friends. As they have their own for that guest network. It has WPS if you so wish as well. Your router can turn off or warn you if you are about to go over a data limit. You can block specific sites and services or schedule a time for your router to go to sleep and then wake up. Seriously awesome stuff. There is also a hybrid VPN that I haven’t tried out or used. If you have your router in a room that you sleep in you can turn off the lights so it only shows the powered on button. Awesomeness yet again. So, I’ve gone through a lot of stuff. Makes it sound like it’s going to be super hard to setup. But guess what?! With DumaOS it makes everything so freaking easy to setup I'm pretty sure my Grandma could do it. It's super straight forward. For a lot of other routers sometimes looking for specific settings is a big pain and you don't know what you are changing. On this those features are easy to find as they put them front and center. It also has question marks by everything so you can click that to get more information. So, it's easy to go from not knowing anything about your network to knowing everything. Conclusion time. I’ve talked about a lot. I’m tech savvy but not anywhere near an expert when it comes to home network stuff but this makes it so I can do a lot more very easily. This is a perfect device for those who want to do the following A. Game (having open NAT and reduced latency), B. Control devices connection and access to internet, C. have a strong connection everywhere throughout the house, D. Create guest network, E. Have very good security, F. Allow a lot of devices on a network without overloading. G. Gigabyte internet or faster. Among a ton of other features. Yes, it’s very expensive. But I think it is worth it. As you will only have to buy this once and be able to keep it for years and years. If you break that down into hours used over its lifetime it turns into penny’s.
