I have been wanting to buy this router for some time as I have heard great things about it. Recently, the connection in my house wasn't good enough and I was getting dropped signals from my old Netgear N600 router. On my old device I couldn’t get a good connection in multiple locations in my house. Such as the hot tub a floor up and right outside from it (<5 mbps), the corner TV upstairs (<10 mbps), the laptop from the other side of the house, and the garage (<0.1 mbps) out of 300 mbps down and 30 up. Yikes. With this guy I'm getting >300 (315 - 330) mbps on the 5ghz channel on my iPad Pro no matter where I am in the house. So, yes there has been a massive improvement there. My 300 down is also barely scrapping the surface of the speeds this guy is capable of which means I’m future proofed for a good long while. The next thing I bought the router for is the gaming features. Specifically, Geo-Filter and QoS. The Geo-Filter allows you to select specific devices (Gaming PC/Console) and set how far it will connect to a server to ensure that you have the lowest latency possible. Since gaming with this I have had very low ping times. Although when gaming with friends it doesn't work as well. QoS just allows you to select the bandwidth that a specific device can use while other devices are on the network. For example, someone is streaming Netflix and you are playing COD. Instead of Netflix taking all 300 of the network you can make it so it only takes 10 so the rest is reserved for gaming. That example is overkill but it gets the point across. So, if you are in a home with a ridiculous amount of connected devices this will be able to handle it beautifully as it comes with a lot of power under the hood to not get it to overheat or max out. I have 15 devices connected currently and at other times I have up to 11 more and haven’t had any evidence of it slowing down. Security. It comes with the latest greatest security. The best part is you can go to "Device Manager" and it will show every single device that is connected to your network or that has been. It even breaks them down from 2.4 ghz, 5 ghz, hard wired, and offline. I did have to go around and find the addresses for some of my devices and relabel them. But now it’s easy to see all my devices which I love. You can block specific devices such as your child who hasn't done their homework yet from getting on the internet which is awesome. I also have not had to port trigger/port forward anything as the router automatically has been opening those gaming sites when I'm actively playing giving me an open NAT and closing it when I’m not gaming. But if I do have to do that it is incredibly simple and straightforward. And the "port triggering" is more secure than the "port forward" from my understanding. Which not every router has which is also much appreciated as I want the best gaming experience but also the most security. Other security features are as follows. You can hide your network name from others. So unless someone knows the exact name they cannot connect. You can also setup a guest network, and hide that name, if you wish. That way you don’t have to share your own network password with friends. As they have their own for that guest network. It has WPS if you so wish as well. Your router can turn off or warn you if you are about to go over a data limit. You can block specific sites and services or schedule a time for your router to go to sleep and then wake up. Seriously awesome stuff. There is also a hybrid VPN that I haven’t tried out or used. If you have your router in a room that you sleep in you can turn off the lights so it only shows the powered on button. Awesomeness yet again. So, I’ve gone through a lot of stuff. Makes it sound like it’s going to be super hard to setup. But guess what?! With DumaOS it makes everything so freaking easy to setup I'm pretty sure my Grandma could do it. It's super straight forward. For a lot of other routers sometimes looking for specific settings is a big pain and you don't know what you are changing. On this those features are easy to find as they put them front and center. It also has question marks by everything so you can click that to get more information. So, it's easy to go from not knowing anything about your network to knowing everything. Conclusion time. I’ve talked about a lot. I’m tech savvy but not anywhere near an expert when it comes to home network stuff but this makes it so I can do a lot more very easily. This is a perfect device for those who want to do the following A. Game (having open NAT and reduced latency), B. Control devices connection and access to internet, C. have a strong connection everywhere throughout the house, D. Create guest network, E. Have very good security, F. Allow a lot of devices on a network without overloading. G. Gigabyte internet or faster. Among a ton of other features. Yes, it’s very expensive. But I think it is worth it. As you will only have to buy this once and be able to keep it for years and years. If you break that down into hours used over its lifetime it turns into penny’s.

Out the box looks are better than any other router. Setup wasn’t too difficult either. I purchased gigabit internet at the same time from my provider Comcast. I am getting great WiFi speeds but plugged in devices are getting pretty low speeds. After two verrry long talks with support from netgear and one visit from a cable tech my guess is firmware might be the issue, not sure but adjusting settings in the routers interface has brought up the speeds but still 300mbps slower than WiFi speeds. I even replaced the unit and have the same issue. I have a support call this weekend...hope I have better luck. Router isn’t bad but Has some issues that it shouldn’t for the price tag.

We have about 20 devices connected to this router and do not have any lags. We have a Xbox hard wired and everything else working straight off WiFi including another Xbox, PS4, 2 Nintendo Switches, and everything runs very smooth no more lags.

Bought this router for a house of 5. We run a total of 8-10 devices, some stream services like hulu, netflix, etc, others play games, and one of us streams our gameplay while gaming! It does everything it needs to without buffering. Running a 200 mbps on my internet and the router comes out to about 215 mgps. So a little extra boost! Flawless router! I could not be happier. Best router available by far! The extra services this comes with such as the VPN built into the router, as well as the features to monitor traffic are a little rough to get used to if you have not used something like this in the past. However the learning curve is actually really simple! Could not be happier with the features of this router!

The controls and monitoring system of the wifi is great. Solid range and great speeds. Can be a little tricky setting up if you are coming off a network modem (ie Xfinity or AT&T modem).

I was in the market for a gaming router to help improve my connection quality (mainly Xbox one - COD and Halo 5) and actually bought this last minute. The connection had improved significantly (hardwired) as well as my overall home network quality. The DumaOS dashboard is quite user friendly (Not too familiar with advanced networking). It was easy to set up and it even has built in help to assist in fine tuning. After set up I noticed a significant increase in gaming quality even while two phones and a Nintendo switch was connected at the same time

The router allows me full control over anyone connecting to my wireless network. For gaming I can see servers and eliminate bad connection almost all together and the range is 3x more reliable than the standard spectrum routers

It's great. It fires up just fine, plug and play ready to use right out if the box. I have comcast and it works great. It actually boosts my speed. I pay for 17tl5mb down, but the router gives me 205mb

So it was time to upgrade the old router. I asked my son to do some research, figuring that any router that was good enough for the toughest online games just had to be great at everything else. And I was right. Now, the set-up is a bit confusing as Netgear’s instructions and some online videos omit key steps. But after pushing through all of that, it was up and running. We kept the 5G and 2.4G networks separate (you can choose this option). Speed is blistering, apps open with ease, online pages open instantly. I’ll have to ask my son how the online gaming is going, but I think it must be just fine!

so are you tired of everyone on your WiFi hogging all the speeds up or you don't want that person you gave the password to last time to have it anymore but you don't wanna have to change the password and then have to reenter it into all your devices/everyone else device? well look no further this route has everything you need and don't but might need all in one with the dumaOS software. with this software you can kick people right off you WiFi without them or anyone knowing about it also if you're in the fast-lane of gaming and you wanna hog everything up because you pay the bill WELL you can all within the software. I've never felt more in-control of my WiFi than now

The router did awesome for call of duty as far as the geo-filter goes. It connected me to nearby servers which kept my latency down when it did. It did not work 100 percent of the time I should add. Other than that I had issues with my ping fluctuation and speed consistency. I didnt get the 1gig speed that I pay for consistently. Router required restart often. I ended up returning for a different router.
