Performs as avertised

The one supplied by our internet provider (RCN) was apparently just not "up to the task." Actually had Geek Squad install this as I am NOT a computer savvy person. Very pleased! Finally have strong WIFI everywhere in home and even on back porch and patio.

Good in home but signal not strong in yard

Good Router

This router seems to handle such traffic easily (of course so many devices slows down your internet, but that's not the purpose of this review). If you are going to have ten devices or more hooked into your wireless at any given time, this is the way to go.

Great choice on wireless router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This was recommended by a Best Buy sales associate but eventually called Netgear tech support for assistance with initial installation as I know nothing about connections. I had declined Geek Squad service as I thought I could handle it. Netgear was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, patient and courteous. Now I have great wireless signal all over our home. Great buy!

Inconsistent data pass through speeds

Downloaded and upgraded to latest firmware from Netgear, but this did not fix the issue. I can remove the router and connect my laptop directly to my cable modem to confirm that the router appears to be the cause of the pass through download speed inconsistencies. Download speeds through the router vary from 100Mb+ to less than 1Mb.
