I was skeptical what a premium router could do to improve performance. Wow did I change my mind in a hurry. I had a top end Asus AC router and we have 35Mbps internet service. We could rarely experience anything close to 35Mbps. Well after I got the Nighthawk we not only get 35Mbps regularly but often exceed it.

Great router. Prioritizes streaming media. It gave me some fits at first and when I called the customer service, they were more interested in selling me additional product support than helping me. The router works really well, after I figured out how to set it up myself. I have around ten devices in my home and all of them work fluidly on this router. Just don't expect very good technical support from customer service. They were outsourced product pushers.

This router is currently installed in a one level home, approx 1800 square feet. This router replaced a Airport Extreme Base Station, which did not provide the range that we needed. The Nighthawk provides far more range, is much easier to set up (no special software needed, just a web browser), and is all-in-all very powerful and has worked solidly. The main downside would be the Quality of Service features, which really don't work as intended. It seems to throttle all traffic, sometimes even the traffic that it is supposed to let through with high priority. I eventually turned it off, and really you don't really need it for a regular home network. All in all a excellent router, though of course pricey. But you get what you pay for!

It works great except for one problem. After purchasing this router, my son and I can no longer play EA games together online. Playing BF4 and Hardline, when we join the same server we get kicked for being disconnected from EA server. No other multiplayer games do this. iRacing, Planetside, World of War Ships, War thunder, all play perfect.

Excellent for about a year, then great, then good

Excellent for about a year, great for 6 months after that and very good 2 years later. Ok so why the scaling? Well, to put it simply, this brother was excellent when I first purchased it nearly 2 years ago. About a year after that (conveniently when the warranty runs out) The signal starts to become erratic with broadcasting. I don’t have cable and only stream and also do gaming. So, when the signal is interrupted it’s very noticeable. The features are great. You can name your network whatever you want to be along with a custom password and you get both 2.4 and 5 GHz signals which is great. You also get to broadcast a guest network if you choose to which is great if you don’t want to share your password and give access to everything else on your network. After the initial year from 12 to 18 months the router would have to be rebooted more often then afternoon before. Let’s say about once every 3 to 6 weeks. From the 18th to 24th month it will need to be rebooted every 1 to 3 weeks, which can be frustrating if you have security systems that are linked to it. With Comcast taking away they are unlimited option unless you have a specific router I ended up using both (their router and this one) The Comcast one is much more stable although I keep this one around because I already bought it and it still works most of the time. I can also have the security system and everything else linked to the Comcast one since it’s more stable and this one connected to other devices. Overall it’s still decent, and for the first year it was completely awesome, and I couldn’t recommend it enough. After that year though, it’s hit or miss. Others online have said to update it which I did, and then there’s many more advanced things you can do which I’m not too opposed to doing but the average consumer may not want to be bothered with such things. So in the short one yes highly recommend it, in the long run no. I don’t see it lasting me another year, but I do think it will at least make it another 6 to 8 months which should put me right around the holiday season and I can catch a good deal on another one if needed. I’ll probably try a different brand, but like I said when it works, and for the most part it does, it’s great, but too many little things like signal loss, constant rebooting, and lack of support without a hefty cost will turn me away.

After dealing with our internet providers router I decided to buy a better one for my Wi-Fi needs at home. I must say this is a great investment especially with everything being wi fi now this days. This router even reaches where I required a Wi-Fi plug in extender. Well invested money.

This Nighthawlk is better than the old router I had before. I have 4 phones, 3 computers and 2 iPads and an Xbox 360 on it. All of my devices run twice as fast as before and I have not had to reset the router as of this writing. I have had the router for about a month. I only gave it 4 stars and not 5, because it claims to be lag free for gaming, and I still get lag. I have a high speed cable connection 30 Mbps down load, 6 Mbps upload so I don't think it is my cable provider. If your not a gamer, this router will work fine. If you want lag free 100% of the time, I think your gonna have to caugh up $300 and buy a different router. If you just watch Netflix and use your iPad, computer etc. this router is great.

At first I didn't want to spend this amount on a wireless router, but finally decided to and I have been very happy with it. It's very full featured and supports more things than I even need to use. It provides good wireless coverage throughout my house and it's has been very reliable.

Had been in the market for a new router for a while, and was going to settle on the 1750, but there was a great Black Friday deal on this. Even at regular price it is worth it. I have a 3200 sq ft home and we excellent coverage throughout the house. From the basement to the upper level. Add to the that we have 4 phones, 2 iPads, 2 smart TV's, 2 Xbox's and an Apple TV, and nothing lags and can all be used at the same time. We even had friend visit this past weekend and added another 4 phones and 2 iPads and still no lag. We have Time Warner and the fastest speed they offer is 50 kps (I think that's right) and the router is pushing out those speeds. Well worth it.

I did a lot of research on routers. When I went to Best Buy I was pointed to this one. I had read up about it but was unsure because of the higher price tag. Needless to say this baby handles it all. I tested it with 3 tvs streaming Netflix and one while playing xbox one. It handled all the traffic perfectly

I did a lot of research before purchasing this router and I am so glad I did. This is the best router you can buy in this price range and it has tremendous performance. I was paying for the same Internet servce, but the minute I changed out my router for this one, my speeds shot way up. Couldn't be happier

We were experiencing poor reception with our 4+ year old wireless router (wireless N). Signal clarity was bad and could not reach our upper floors or outside pool area. Problem solved with this router. More expensive but well worth it. We now get a strong signal throughout the house and the pool area outside too. We have sometimes 6+ devices streaming/connected. Very pleased. Used tech services too and that was also a good experience. Only problem- my old vista computer will not connect wirelessly with this new router. Tech services was not able to offer a solution.

Old Netgear 6300 v2 was starting to struggle after 4 years, so I went with the 7000. Holy smoke . 200 mbps service From cable company, I was doing about 40 mbps to my cell at the other end of the house in the man cave in what used to be the garage. One floor down and one wall was brick. Hook up was simple with the app. Speedtest from the man cave showed 242 down and 50 up. Everything is faster and we’re streaming on two TV’s with no issues. Watched a ballgame on my Kindle while smoking some meat and had no issues.

The router really gave an extra boost of speed and strength to our wifi! We bought it to help with our dragon box, we even have it two rooms away and still works great for our phones and streaming on our tv, PlayStation and Xbox!! The normal charter router doesn't compare to this one!

We decided to replace the modem/router that our cable company provided since the range was awful and it was not handling our internet traffic very well. We purchased this router along with a Netgear cable modem with the help of a salesperson at Best Buy. We are loving the speed, range, and ability to use many wifi devices at once. I work from home, accessing large files over VPN. We also have laptops, tablets, fire tv sticks, smart tvs, a PS4, an Xbox, Alexa, Google Home, and smart phones using the internet on a continual basis. This Netgear modem/router combination handles it all very well.
