I purchased two of these router to replace my old Apple Airports. Unfortunately, they did not perform well at all. I was forced to reset the main router at least one time each day. It would just drop the wifi out of the blue. I updated to the latest firmware and tried everything suggested by others. Ultimately, I was forced to return both of them. I am not writing this as an attempt to be malicious towards Netgear because I turned around and purchased their ORBI, which is working great as of now. I think Netgear needs to make some changes to this router.

It is OK not impressed with it. A regular router will do the same job as this one.

I bought this router as a replacement for my previous identical router which I thought was bad because the management app was not working. I was unable to connect to the new router with the setup app. I reinstalled the app, checked and rechecked everything. I work with technology in my daily job, this should not have been hard. In the end, I connected over wireless from my computer to an address our internet provider knew for these routers and was able to set it up that way. This took me about 4 hours. I will never buy one of these routers again. From past experience with this router, once you get it set up, it's ok except that it drops connections often.

Should have been a simple install - mostly worked but not completely. Ended up on two marathon calls with tech support and their pressuring me to buy a service contract and they still couldn't resolve the problem. Returned the unit to the store and demanded a refund of the service fee from Netgear. Never again.
