Router Works good but is a headache to set up the wifi connections, for start every mobile device you want to connect wifi has to have installed an app and follow time consuming instructions, but once you leave the place and go back, you have to start again to set up installation!!. Wifi printers doesn't connect unless they're wired connected and setting up never completes! besides is impossible to have so long cables to connect several printers in different rooms. A pc desktop I tried to connect via ethernet, the wizard installation never opened, the result: no internet connection!! A very complicated set up, I'm going to return it

Very frustrated. Would probably have worked great, but it would not stay installed. When it did, it would only allow us to use one item on Internet. I'm sure this one must have been bad. We exchanged for another of same brand and are highly satisfied.

I've had nothing but problems with this device. I bought it a month ago and have to return it for defect. Second one had to be returned as well for the same issue. Waiting on third to be mailed from netgear hope it isn't as Defective as the first two.

I don't recommend this router. The connection drops multiple times per day even though I'm 8 feet from the router. Sometimes a restart is required, about once per week. The logs don't contain anything useful for debugging. I have two of these and they both suffer from the same problem. Overall a very poor router, especially for such a high price.

Suppose to handle multiple items but when my husband watches Netflix while I try to do my online schooling it seems to slow my homework pages down, especially if there is a video I need to watch for class. Other than that overall works okay.

This was only OK in my experience. I was unable to get 1 Android tablet, my Canon printer, & 1 laptop (W10) to connect so had to return this item. I was using an older Netger router until a power surge destroyed it.

Bad Product / No support from Netgear or Best Buy

I have now had this item replaced twice in 45 days, and the third one is also not working. First issue was within two weeks when the router would not hold a signal and kept authenticating 12 times a day causing signal loss. Netgear support said it was a firmware issue but couldn't flash it, so sent a new router. The second one worked for two weeks then stopped broadcasting 5G signal. Netgear said this time after trouble shooting that it was a hardware issue and sent another replacement. The third replacement sent never worked out of the box. The 5G will not broadcast, and I spent 5 hours straight with Level one and two support and they cannot figure it out, and refuse to replace it because it is having the same problem twice in a row so have to try something else. We have tested other routers and can see a 5G signal from them, but nothing from this Netgear. They now have no idea what to do next because policy is no second replacement for same issue even if it appears to be a hardware issue, and want engineering to look into it. I called and chatted Best Buy to see if they could intervene and they said nothing they could do because beyond 15 day return window, but store manager has more power and could help. I explained to customer servive I ordered online and closest store is three hours away, but they said that was my only option. So I drove 3 hours to Best Buy and was told by the manager she could not return or even exchange, and Netgear support was it. So here I am waiting to hear from Level 3 from Netgear, though they admit there is an issue with the item, and Best Buy not wanting to help either. Buyer beware if you purchase this item that you are on your own if there is an issue.

I give this zero if I could. I’m not very techy and bought this on a whim looking for a decent router with good range. This router worked beyond expectations for a week at best after that internet would drop on daily basis. I had to reset the router for it work everyday. I did research and this is a very common problem with nighthawk routers. Do you’re research and stay away from this router!

Product is ok but not great. Does not bridge wireless and what good is bridging 4 physical ports.... Also, boot time is really long - it takes about 5 minutes before internet service becomes available after a reboot.

I bought this router when we moved to our new home. It was easy to install and worked well until I tried to perform a firmware update. That update locked up the router and I could not get it to work again. I tried to perform a factor reset but that failed too. The unit worked well at first, but it was disappointing that it only worked for about 21 months.

    Inexcusable "Support" Policy

The router stopped working over 5G a few months after buying it. Rebooting it, updating the firmware, and performing a factory reset didn't fix the issue. I called tech support and was told that I'd have to pay $80 for six months or $120 for 12 months of "extended" support because you only get 90 days of "free" support even though the warranty is for one year. It's inexcusable for a company to try to hold support hostage while the device is still under warranty. I searched around online and learned this has been a common problem for well over a year now. Basically, you have to roll back the firmware to a previous version to "fix" the issue. Netgear, in over a year, couldn't be bothered to patch their firmware. Instead, they think the solution is to demand customers pay nearly twice as much just to downgrade the firmware. The router is junk due to buggy firmware and the company is hot garbage. I bought a replacement router from another company and it's worked properly since. I won't buy anything from Netgear ever again.

    Dear R7000 Product Manager,

BUYER BEWARE - These (I am on my second R7000) age worse than milk. The first router I bought and used for 3-5 months worked great. One day the router dropped all wifi signal to all devices and refused to reconnect. I went through all the diagnostic steps I could find online (besides reverting back to a previous SW version). If I was lucky, a reboot would get it back up and running...for an hour or so. I then called Netgear and spent around 20 hours (across multiple days) on the phone with them trying to get them to replace their product that was less than 6 months old. I don't think I need to walk through how the phone calls went as I spent more time on the phone with them trying to walk me through the same steps that I did already (they are probably using the calls for training by now). After a lot of hours spent with them on the phone, they finally sent me a replacement... and it's worked great... until today...which has been around 3-5 months since I received the "fixed" R7000. Like another person said in the 1-star feedback, if you want to reboot your router every hour and deal with poor customer support, this router is for you! Side Note: Don't expect Best Buy to support a product they sell.
