Overall this item works great but it doesn’t seem to last very long. We have had to replace two at about the one year mark.

This was my second netgear wifi router when I bought it it was working fine but after 3 months I had huge issues with connectivity and package loss until It was impossible to get even 5% of the speed IP was giving me as soon as I changed my router for a ASUS one my Internet was back up and running

I had to contact tech support and they had to walk me through the setup. I had to return the first one I purchased because it was defective out of the box.

The internet speeds with this product were greatly increased and I also really liked how the Nighthawk app gives you access to everything, however the only thing I do not like it that the modem seems to drop connection quite frequently. So far rebooting the modem is the only easiest way to fix it. Upon further research it seems to be a firmware issue that NETGEAR has yet to resolve, that causes the modem to go offline.

It has worked well so far but connecting to provider modem was tough- directions very brief and troubleshooting guide was little help- all important info on miniature labels

Previous router which was 6 years old died and bought this. Was told it was going to be much faster than old one but it's not. Speed and range is just as good as old one but price was triple.

Awful product. I have already had to get a replacement for it since my previous router kept cutting out. Netgear support had me going through all their protocols and nothing worked. I knew everything they said wasn't going to make a difference but I took the necessary steps to get the replacement. BUT THE REPLACEMENT IS JUST AS BAD. Now I am stuck with this router and can't even return it. It took me over a month to get the replacement router so I didn't even have time to test the new one out before my return period ended. I have to go to the store to buy a new router and PRAY that it works. This whole experience has been awful. I am extremely disappointed with netgear and their whole customer service experience.

This is absolutely a great product from Netgear. I recently bought the Asus RT-AC66R router and returned it for being a piece of junk. I currently run in my home the following items and most at the same time: 2 xbox 360's, 3 smartphones, 4 iPads, 2 iPods, 1 neo, 1 HP printer, 1 smart TV, and 3 direct TV boxes and one of them a DVR. The nighthawk carries all of it with no lagging while I am gaming. The Asus caused me so much lagging while I was gaming I just wanted to toss it in the garbage. The nighthawk has great range I can walk at least a football field length from my home and still have 2 bars on my samsung 5 smartphone. I have always used Linsey's products until now. I recommend this router to everyone. DO NOT GET THE ASUS ROUTER!!!!! The Netgear nighthawk was worth the money and easy to install.great product.

The box says a strong signal for large houses, but it's not a consistent signal and my house isn't even very large. I'm a bit disappointed in the performance as I expected more from this.

I just purchased this router about 2 weeks ago to increase the speed of my old router. It has been a nightmare! I’ll get all set on 5G, start a Teams meeting for work and all of the sudden, in the middle of my meeting, I lose WiFi. When I look, 5G has disappeared. Even if you reboot, it does the same thing. It seems like 2.4 stays connected, but if I wanted 2.4 I would have kept my old router. STAY AWAY!!!!! I will be returning this tomorrow and going back to my old router.

My internet provider recommended a better router. I spent 3 times as much on this one as my old one and haven’t noticed a difference. Wish I would have bought the extender also.

Worked good, but I returned it for a more powerful model. My only real complaint was that the antennas were hard to put on and they loosened up and fell off easily.

It works. Not much of a warranty and support is limited. Disappointed as they of course want to charge for continued support.

Works great with DD-WRT firmware. Ain't worth a pinch of crap with the stock NetGear firmware.

Worst router I’ve ever had! Constantly dropping out devices, having to reboot to try to get a connection. I cannot even get through a whole Netflix movie. I’ve had it less than a month and I’m returning it today! I’ve had it! Very nerve racking! Getting the Netgear model I had before that lastest 3.5 years with no issues.

This router works well, except it was a bit of a disappointment for the range advertised and price of the router. I would sat it is OK but would look for something less expensive next time.

The Best Buy salesperson highly suggested I "needed" this router so I bought it. Once I got everything hooked up at home I realized I did not need it so I took it back. I don't doubt it's a good router.

I wasn't able to install NetGear and had to hire someone to do this. I bought 2 Netgear products, one for my home and one for my business and couldn't install either one of them. Either could my employee.

Disappointing performance in certain spots. My first Nighthawk bit the dust due to lightning and was doing great, but this one has some trouble getting to all levels of my home at times.

when I spoke with Xfinity Rep they said I had purchased the wrong Router so I returned it and purchased the Router with Voice so it would work with my Internet and phone service
