Bait and switch after 11 months. Don't buy
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great for 11 months. Then software goes corrupt and fails to prioritize devices, instead blocking them. That's fine, you can call their tech support and after confirming it's not hardware, they will CHARGE YOU PER MINUTE TO EXPLAIN HOW THEIR SOFTWARE IS TRASH. Do not recommend this device or any netgear unless you are paying for geek squad support.

Thought it would be faster
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thought this would have a wide range but not to much. I always have netgear and love it but i use it but would never spend that much money again.

Good Value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decent product at the value price. I ended up returning and getting the higher end Nighthawk at the time.

Not sure what happened to Netgear, but this sucks.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ratings for this were what led me to buy it, but sometime between when other people got this piece and my purchase, something went horribly, horribly wrong with Netgear products. I had this router for a few weeks and things were fine, then the range dropped significantly. I purchased a second router and configured it as an access point, and it wound up bringing the whole network down, so I disconnected it and bought yet another piece that acts solely as a range extender. Then the apple devices suddenly couldn't connect anymore, then some devices could only connect on the 5g and some on the other band. It would take forever for devices to connect, the app is terrible, and Netgear is charging people the cost of the device to troubleshoot. Not worth the trouble.

Serves the purpose
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't see much difference from my old netgear router. It can handle three devices before it seems to slow down a bit with each device that is added.

Router Review Average
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router is average. Still does not really reach upstairs bedroom as well as we would like. But may be our internet provider and not the router.

Too expensive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially had issues with the netgear modem, so this router may have worked fine, but it was very expensive and pointless.

Why can't I give zero stars?
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Reader, I want you to do something. Go to your wallet and take out 150$. Look at it. Think of what you had to do to earn it. What you could do with it. Now put it in the trash. You have officially put it to better use than buying this router. It has been 3 week of daily crashes. Hours wasted on the phone with tech support. And more headaches than I want to count. I'm still desperately trying to work with Netgear support. but they're telling me I need to send it to them first before they'll replace it. Meaning I could be looking at more than a week without internet. Buy anything else, seriously any other router.

Frustrated with install
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely frustrating to install and make changes. Direct IP connection would not work intermittently. All setup is supposed to done from an app on your phone. I had to reset the router 3 times to start over. All I wanted was to change the settings manually and save them. 4 hours of grief. I would have taken it back but I needed it done today.

Works fine, when it works
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was not entirely straightforward. The signal simply disappears occasionally, and the unit has to be reset.
