Intermittent lockups

It irregularly locks up and has to be rebooted. That usually at the worst time whether I am doing email or just watching a movie. I think I will have to return it for a replacement.

Easy Set Up

However, it stopped working aftet 3 weeks. Geek protection replace it but the next one did the same thing in 3 weeks. Went with a different model.

Don't Purchase

Right after I purchased the router it worked ok for about 3 weeks. Then every day it would go down once or twice from 2 to 8 minutes. Obviously this is not ideal when working remotely and being on meetings. I worked with my ISP to figure out it was the router. Well, when I called netgear customer support they were very unhelpful and wanted me to sign up for their yearly support service fee well over $120 dollars per year. Obviously, I did not sign up, I hope I can save someone the money and pain I have endured with this router.

Don't bother buying this

After reading instructions, could not get the router to hook up to my system. I called the Netgear help line and after over and hour and half on the telephone with someone who had no idea what they were doing, it still didn't work. The netgear person repeated the same instructions over and over and when it didn't work they just told me do the same thing again (unplug, wait, plug in etc.). Of course it would have been easier had the person spoke something other than broken English at best. Returned product and will not buy Netgear products again. Unless you are extremely tech savy DO NOT BUY THIS ROUTER.

Drops,WiFi almost daily

I am trying now to work with Netgear tech support to get a fix. If it does not work then I will return to Best Buy. Not what I expected for the price.

Hard to Configuire

It did not work out of the box and still now, 4 weeks later I still have to reset it or won't let me in. Avast says it is configured wrong and does not block some attacks that exploit the network.

If you like rebooting 2x/day then buy this

I have had to reset/reboot this product daily, lately 2x/day. If one laptop was on 5Ghz band and another logged in it would shut down the 5Ghz band completely. Solution, yup reset/reboot modem and router taking 5-10mins every time. Called tech support, out of warranty by 2 weeks, their solution? Charge me $90 with no guarantee that they can fix it. When it did work the 2.4Ghz would often times slow down considerably (4-5 mps DL with 1mps UL). Solution, yup you guessed it, reset/reboot. There has to be a better solution than Netgear out there. I hear great things about the Acer products.

Stopped working after just a year

I reset it several times and even that wouldn't fix the problem, so I replaced it with an Asus router.

won't stay connected

My complaint is that it randomly disconnects from anything its connected to. I did not have this issue with a router that cost 1/4 of what this one cost.

Do not buy

Support for netgear also expires too quickly. Only had this 3 months and i can't utilize free support. Thier lack of confidence in their product is testimony to a shotty device. 150$ in the trash. I would avoid this brand and company altogether.
