Customers are enthusiastic about the Nighthawk R7000 AC1900 WiFi Router's impressive range, ease of use, and performance. Many appreciate its strong signal and the generally simple setup process, leading to positive experiences with streaming and overall WiFi quality. Broken after 6 months - avoid this brand

I’ve had this router for less than a year- 6 months to be exact. It’s stopped working all of a sudden, and Netgear says it’s not replaceable under warranty. Nothing has changed, it’s on the same internet and in the same spot. They won’t replace the router, and I’m not about to drop another $100+ on a bad router. I would avoid this one. It’s very finicky and will drop internet connection for no reason. Super disappointed

Required to pay for tech support while in warranty

I will never buy another Netgear product in my life. I purchased this router and 4 months ago and today it just quit connecting to the internet. Netgear says I must agree to pay $89 for technical support while it is still under its one year warranty. I absolutely refuse to pay for support while the product is still under warranty. That is OUTRAGEOUS! I will be returning this router to Best Buy tomorrow! I have had nothing but problem after problem with this router!

    Firmware Update Breaks 5GHz

This router worked great for about 6 months and then I started having issues with the 5GHz signal. The signal would stop broadcasting and even when it would be connected the internet would not work. 2.4 GHz signal has worked well consistently but the speed is significantly slower. The fix is to roll back the firmware version. Not a valid fix in my opinion.

Honestly, I wouldn't wish the experience I have had with this thing on my worst enemy. I am a long standing customer of Netgear products but this one came in defective. The usb ports don't work! That was one of the main points to getting it. Now I have to pay to return it to the manufacturer and wait for a new unit. What? They couldn't even afford a return label for me after I spent over $200 on it in the name of customer service? Thanks loads.

Bought the router less than one year ago. It worked fine for about six months then it began to stop functioning for no apparent reason. The problem began to appear about one a month at first, but now it's multiple times a day. Have to shut it off and unplug it, then wait a little bit before starting it up again. For a router that's less than one year old, this is really, really bad. Don't buy it!!

Excellent Home Router and Access Point

The first think I was looking for was good speed and functionality, this seem to have it when I noticed over 1800 reviews for it. The one Review with the pictures of the speed test was great. I had a Linksys 54 with WRT software and been working great, but my service was upgraded and I found it I was only getting 50mb/s through it. I was getting 90mb/s connected to my PC. So, first thing I did was connect the Netgear and run speed test and I immediately noticed I was getting 90mb/s with it. It was extremely easy to setup. Connected very quickly with a minimum of effort. Perfect for home users. If I had any complaints it would be the price, I guess not bad, but still on the high side, and the software, I'm used to having many more options and flexibility with my home routers. I imagine if I put WRT or Tomato on it, that would change. So far I'm just going to leave it as is and if the need arises I will put on different firmware.

After owning this router for roughly six months I began experiencing data download speed problems. I called tech support only to be told I have to pay for support because of the device being outside of the 3-month support period? I still have problems with it constantly having to be rebooted to get it working properly. I will not recommend or purchase another Netgear product. Wasted over $100

I bought this for gaming. Have used our original netgear router for about 5 years but gaming on line was lagging a lot. So we installed nighthawk and nothing changed not even the distance when streaming on our devices. Was the same as our original router. Tried to return and Best Buy stayed can’t return this item with open box! How else would I find out if this works? So now I have thisbrouter in the box collecting dust in my basement and am out the cost of purchase. So No!

I don't recommend this product. Returned after 2 weeks for store credit. Best buy wouldn't just refund the money because I took to long to return. I had this router at vacation home for cameras. It was always dropping signal and never very reliable. I bought the google mesh and haven't had a problem since. Maybe I just got a bad one but I personally won't get another one.
