Does just outside the warranty period

The first one lasted nearly couple years and died not long after big storm. I thought it had been fried by a surge. I bought a replacement last year that also died two months after the short, one year warranty ran out. $160 for just over a year of use is Comcast levels of absurd price per month. I will never buy another Netgear product.

Not plug and play

Great performance

High Speed even though we have many devices in use at the same time. I get a strong signal outside the house and no connectivity problems. If you don't need the long range performance, this may be too much router for you. However, if you are really going to push the wireless with multiple devices streaming or playing games, it is worth the price.

Terrible item
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Router and everything was good but the Range still was not as I thought but it's ok ,, but this Device start acting crazy after 6 months and in two weeks Stop working and Best Buy dont want to take it back which is I hate their Service, so now i still have it but i dont know what do with it and then i went to Costco and bought new Router , I had No Choice !

Disappointed

There is now a hardware defect in the router that prevents the wifi connecting properly. I have searched netgear forums for the last two weeks and spent a lot of time resetting and rebooting this router, with no luck. It is extremely frustrating considering I thought i was buying a quality product that would last. Very disappointed.

They state that they have a 1 year warranty - However, when you call tech support with a warranty issue, you must pay a service fee to have remote diagnostics done to use the warranty, I did not know that was even legal. Goodbye forever, Netgear.

Disconnection issues

I tried everything. I called Netgear and even my ISP but they could not resolve my issue. Then I bought a new router and the problem went away so it was definitely this router that was the problem.

Did not work.

Followed directions carefully. Spent 3 hours on the phone with Netgear trying to get help. Finally I was told it would have to be “hardwired”. Since I did not have any way to do this, I returned it and bought a Linsys that took less than 5 minutes to set up.

Signal very weak.

Problems from start

Router died after 2 years

Warranty expired Aug 2019. Sept. 2019 the router stops transmitting wifi signal. So radio failure. Did not buy extended warranty because I thought this was a good product, spent more to get something reliable and now will have to buy a new router. This router should work longer than 2 years.
