Worst “gaming” router yet.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst “gaming” router I’ve used. Constantly shuts off but doesn’t indicate its restarting. Kept loosing connection either on LAN or WiFi. App is slow and made to keep you waiting. Thought netgear had gotten better in the last years.

Worthless
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this and in less than two weeks it has gone out. Will be taking it back to where I purchased it from. When they work they are okay. It has been off line and I am having to run strictly off my DSL modem, and that only handles a few devices. Not sure if I want to go back to NETGEAR. I need a DSL modem. Not a cable modem.

Kept crashing
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this router after my Linksys failed after 6 years. Not sure why I decided to change... It worked great for about 10 days, then froze. I reset and it went 2-3 more days and froze. The freeze ups got more frequent so I returned it...and got a Linksys. Should have done that to begin with.

Research...Will be switching to the TP Link AX73
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Less than 700 sq ft apt and I cannot get signal in either bedroom, constant rebooting needed and there is just one person that barely uses the internet to begin with... Will be returning and a different brand. Very disappointed as I have always had Netgear routers.

Buy at your own risk.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After about 3 weeks, this router would go offline. Over the course of now, 6 months, it’s a daily event if not more, and must be rebooted. Am unable to get help and online forums give no definitive solution. Am back to buy yet another router after spending too much $ for this one.

Junk less than a year
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Net Gears warranty is worthless! I’ve had this router for less than a year and the product isn’t working! I call support to have a warranty submitted and because I’m outside of the 90 days they want to charge for support in order to determine if the issue would be covered with the warranty. Seems legit to me... I will never buy anything Net Gear again.

Brick
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Brick out of the box. I have had 3 Netgear routers over the years that were great. This one was not, it took an hour to get the hard wired internet to work only to find out the WiFi button would not work. Tech support was useless. They used to be great. Sad when a good manufacturer goes south.

The Elite AC Router!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a die hard Apple guy and this router blew the Airport Extreme away in performance and speed. I have a house built in 1890's, its a duplex so its tough to get the whole house with one router. This router covered 90% of my house and had amazing range outside as well. The Apple router did as well but the X-factor was speed. I have 105Mbps from Xfinity and the Extreme gave me speeds from 20-35Mbps, while the NIGHTHAWK gave me consistent speeds between 48Mbps-90 Mbps just as I was getting with the Cable modem! A must buy I have two now and its amazing how I have zero to no downtime. Gamers/Streamers/Anythingers dream!!! Best $200 spent since my iphone purchase!

Drops WiFi over and over
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked great to start and got worse ever since the first couple month or two finished. Drops WiFi 5 times a day under the 1 year mark owned. Thought a 4.6 customer review rating meant good things but didn’t dive deep enough into the reviews. Will be staying far far away from these in the future or buying an insurance plan.

Died before 90 days
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The modem and separate router worked very well on Cox system. After 80 days or so I lost the 5GB WIFI. Many calls to Netgear with long wait times. All claimed problem was with something other than the router.Replaced the router with a Linksys router and I have 5GB wifi again. Aggravating. Even had cox out to see if there was a problem in their equipment.

Warranty
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lasted 5 months $170 down the toilet. Bought a tp link on Amazon for 1/3 of the price so far so good. Don’t make stuff like they used to. Better buy the warranty if you’re netgear fan, because Best Buy has a 15 day return policy. Lost a customer thanks circuit city.

Inconsistent and problematic
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you don't mind having to re-connect almost daily or you have to continually reset it for 5G, then maybe this is for you. It does not set up without contact with your internet provider. It's range is poor. We live in a large single room loft and it barely covers the entire area.

Big nope.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked for the first year, now it crashes at least twice a day (sometimes more, and usually right in the middle of doing something) . Tried flushing IP, changing dns, rolling back firmware multiple times. Finally gave up and bought a TPLINK router that's been working great.

Bad product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 4 of these, and 3 out of the 4 came out defective. It's a pain to be calling Netgear support just so they can tell me to return back to Best Buy. There must of been a bad batch of routers last year 2020.

Terrible
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely hate this router. I have to restart it on a daily basis at the most random times. I’ve called netgear a million times and still daily I have to restart it. I wish I would have stuck with my spectrum router. Spend your money on something else
