Since replacing old router with new Netgear, we constantly have to reboot our internet system by unplugging the Netgear router. This has to be done several times a day to keep keep wireless internet access.

upgraded from Netgear WNDR3400v2 to this one and increased from about 18-20 Mbs to 58-60Mbps. Easy to setup and works great. Also have the increased range. I live in FL and my house is built to handle a hurricane so i think other routers have challenges with the thicker walls. this one is amazing

I had a Linksys N router that i bought about a year ago. Lately i noticed it would drop from 20 or so Mbps to 0.5. Upon restart it would be ok for a day and drop back down. Decided to go big. The setup of the nighthawk took 10 minutes. The user interface was perfect and easy to use. I have a 2400 sq ft house with multiple levels. This thing reached everywhere. I was getting 45 Mbps at the far opposite side of the house! That wasn't even on the 5G band.. We have a computer, 2 ipads, 3 iphones, 3 smart TV's, a Smart AV receiver, and 2 smart Blu Ray players. The speed is so fast on all of them. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to get this router. DO IT!

I bought this on 6/16/19 after replacing another Nighthawk that was about a year and a half old. Unfortunately it does 3 weeks later. I returned it to the store for a full refund and bought another brand.

This did not make it a year. This time got a mesh wifi router and did get the extended warranty. These routers don't seem to last much past the manufactures warranty period.

Was returned without using, as nowhere in the description did it say--nor did it show in the pictures--that it wasn't compatible with DSL. Boxed it back up and returned it the next day. Other than that, it was great.

I bought this to replace my ISP router. I haven't been able to complete setup because it isn't recognizing my Ethernet cable plugin. I have tried several times plugging and unplugging the cable. Seems to be a faulty component within the router.

Finally a solution for my connectivity issues

I don't live in a large home, about 1900 sq. ft., but it's very long and finding a connection from one end of the house to the other has been a miserable experience. I used to have rooms hardwired, but after redoing some things, those connections were severed. I've tried multiple combinations of routers connecting to access points, but the access points have been unstable and unreliable and the speed has also degraded considerably. I've tried powerline adapters, but nothing in my home appears to be on the same circuit. I've since added MoCa adapters and have had moderate success in at least getting a signal to the opposite side of the house, but that's where the magic stops. This router provides an ample signal to at least 75% of the house which is good for everyday use, especially provided that most of my equipment is advanced enough to connect to the 5GHz band. This has significantly cut down on the interference with my 2.4GHz phones, wireless headphones, etc. But I still had issues with other rooms in the house with devices that needed to be wired. After the MoCa adapters failed in those rooms (couldn't get a consistent coaxial lock), I bought a second one of the NightHawks (I know, totally overkill), connected it as a bridge via wireless AC and now I'm consistently getting between 55-60Mbps connections to all of those devices. Buffering, download times and waiting are a thing of the past in every room of the house now. I'm just happy that, although super expensive, I've finally found a solution that works here and would easily work in a much better laid out, bigger home. The only negative aspect I've seen so far was a quick attempt to hook up a USB printer and I had no success connecting or printing. I've been using a network USB adapter from Belkin for years without issue, so I'm continuing to do so. It also appears that you may have to install Netgear-specific software in order to do this. Reminds me of an old Netgear NAS-bay I bought years ago that required their software to be running on the PC you wished to be able to connect to it. That was great up until support stopped beyond XP (or was it Win98?). Out of the box the administrative screens indicate there is a firmware upgrade available. Based on past experience as well, if it isn't broken, I'm not going to touch it. I'm always afraid of applying the firmware updates and I would highly recommend reading up on other peoples' experiences before diving in to investigate if there are legitimate issues hampering performance or outright bricking your new hardware. Overall, this has been a great purchase. It has simplified my networking setup, provided stability and speed and I've had no issue connecting anywhere from 5-10 desktops/laptops, XBOX360, XBOX One, PS3, PS4, WiiU, Slingbox, TiVo, printers, mobile devices, tablets, Smart TVs and wireless cameras simultaneously. I would highly recommend this for great performance, even if you don't stream heavy amounts of media in your home.
