I waited to post my review of this router until I had owned it for a couple of months. It was easy to install and hooked everything up wired and wireless. I have have a ps4 and x-box 1 and several other things hardwired with no problems. I have my All in One and cell phone and game boy on wi-fi with no problems. I love this router and hope that it last me as long as my other Netgear Router did. As always the Best Buy employees were top notched and answered all of the questions I had about this router.

Super easy install and great performance. Can easily see who is on the network and get alerts when data usage is high.

We needed a new router for streaming video to our new smart UHD tv. I have always had very good results with Netgear products, and this router is no exception. From out of the box to up and operational was 10 minutes max! Super-easy to setup and program! We had areas of low signal in our home before with the old router, this one has full signal no matter where we go, even our back yard. I would recommend this router to anyone looking for super WiFi performance!

    Excellent Router For My Needs

I bought the Netgear R7000 2 1/2 months ago, and am pleased to report that it has exceeded my expectations. The range is a noticeable improvement over my prior router, a Netgear DGND4000. The R7000 has not lost its connection once since I bought it. Unlike with the DGND4000, I now have no problem printing to wired printers from my wireless clients. I have moderate bandwidth needs and don't need the latest technology. The R7000 hit the sweet spot for me.

Awesome piece of equipment. Set up very quickly and runs like a champ. Everything is lighting fast, even browsing the web is faster as domain name resolve more quickly and connections are more stable. Range is excellent as well. Full bars on 5G wifi even 100+ feet away through 2 walls. Very impressed.

Bought the r7000 to replace and older Netgear router. The speeds are much faster, and setup was a breeze. If I had to pick one thing I *don't* like about it, that would be the freeze-ups when streaming Netflix..Other than that, great speed, great range, well worth the money!

Had a netgear in the past, decided to get one again. Very easy setup, took no time at all. I've had it for over a month now and it has worked great. We have numerous devices running off of it and none have ever dropped. Impressed with the speeds as well. I recommend.

To put it simply, Netgear delivered an exceptional entry into premium routers with the Nighthawk R7000. The wireless signals reach all areas of my house and at crazy speeds. I have a 105mbps connection in my home and I get every megabit I pay for using this router on both wired and wireless over the AC frequency. My iPhone 6 supports 802.11ac and my speeds are equally as fast over wireless as my devices are wired into the router's gigabit ports. Another niche worth noting about this router is the QoS. Being able to "partition" bandwidth eliminates so much headache from having multiple devices streaming, gaming and browsing in the house. No one gets a hiccup when we're all connected on the internet. Parental controls are in depth and give you a good amount of control over your kid's internet consumption. Now here's the real treat for all the Apple users: Airprint. This is one of the few routers that supports Airprint and it is easy to set up. This router also brings a backup feature for if you want to connect an external HDD into it via either USB 2.0 or USB 3.0. You can have it backup your computer or use it as network storage with little to no hassle. I have no real complaints about this router. You can even turn the LED lights off either through the back or in the router's settings, and it'll be something you consider if you sleep in the same room as the router. #the lights are very bright# Other than that, 5 out of 5. I almost pulled the trigger on a different router but I'm glad I went with this one. Couldn't be more satisfied.

    Very good once set up

This is an upgrade from my TP-Link Archer C1200. Speed is slightly better at longer distances even without the range extender I used with the C1200, and the signal strength is noticeably better even when speed is slow because of the distance from the router. Set up could not be done via the Nighthawk app--spinning circles with no internet connection. Did it the old way--power-cycled the modem, connected it to the router, ethernet connected the router to my laptop, turned on the router. After the router lights settled, a Nighthawk R7000 screen popped up. I followed a few prompts. Simple and fast. Netgear makes a good product, but they need to include better set up instructions than the small piece of paper telling you to install the Nighthawk app on your phone.

I have had the Nighthawk up and running for 24 hrs now and wile it is over priced ,you get what you pay for as the old saying goes. The Nighthawk is a fantastic router from the Netgear Genie to the excellent Parentel controals provided by Open DNS. I had bought a Buffalo 1750 Airstation because of the $120 price and most online review site's put that router in the top 10. The Buffalo 1750 was a big disappointment because my area is saturated with over 15 networks on the 2.4GHZ band so my wifi range would completely die at 15 feet away. I bought the Nighthawk to see if it would make any difference and boy did it! I have comcast 50MBS/10MBS and using my Ipad I did at least 4 speed test's using the 2.4ghz band at 80 feet or so away and through 4 walls and a steel door and the average speed was 22MBS with a 3 bars of wifi. I am very happy I bought this router. Highly Recommended.

    AC1900 for gamers

So I was looking into a new router after my old router starting hitting a wall in what it could handle. The tech that assisted me meant well but he probably thought he was chatting with an initiate. This replaced a night 1700 and now spits 200up/350down on a network with 25 devices. Totally recommend for people looking for a router to add to a fiber network. The set is easy and the range is ridiculous.

I hated my Comcast internet then the technician suggested I try to upgrade my Router and when I did things improved greatly. Then our condo changed from Comcast to Summit Fiber Optic and things got even better! I can't believe the speed increase, and again, The Nighthawk was the missing piece to make it all work better. I highly recommend the Nighthawk

I have 3 Roku's, 2 desktop PCs, a netbook, a tablet and my MagicJack voip landline phone hooked up. This router handles several of these being used at the same time with no dropped connections. Signal strength is always 4-5 bars. Always! This was almost as easy to set up as my super-easy Cisco Valet. Easy to change your SSID and password via the Netgear Genie. Definitely the router to have for gaming and streaming video.

    Best Netgear router I've had!

Coming from a Netgear 3700 router I decided to upgrade as my current home has a lot of cement walls and my signal fades fairly quickly. Now I can access my internet all the way from the back of the house to the front yard! Note that I currently access the internet on a Mid 2010 MacBook Pro which has a 2x2 draft-n antenna. I still haven't tested range or speed using a FULL "N" antenna or AC for that matter but I'm sure it'll be even greater results. Would recommend it for anyone looking to extend the current wireless performance in their home!

Great performing router, probably the best one out right now. The only issue that i have had is that sometimes playing online games it seems to cause the rubberband effect on me, and ill be listening to pandora and the song will stop for literally split second and keep going. I know its not my internet because i have a 60Mbps down and 25Mbps up. Might be a firmware issue or hardware one, im gong to keep using it for about 15 days and see if the problem keeps happening. But other than that its an amazing router, tons of features.

This router looks awesome. The lights on the surface are white and sometimes orange. Still not clear as to why it turns orange on some of my network devices. The range is excellent. Now I can have network access through my home (through all the walls) and also outside. Default QoS settings worked great. With my old router I had to manually configure for my VOIP (Ooma) device so that calls would not sutter. I was able to stream HD movies to two Netflix devices while someone else was on YouTube and others were surfing the internet.

this router has exceeded my expectations in all ways. the wifi range is absolutely excellent and when on the 5g network there is almost 0 loss in download speed. that said, when connected to the 2.4ghz network i can still connect outside hundreds of feet from the house and still achieve great speeds. great router and well worth the money.
