Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the Nighthawk R7000 AC1900 WiFi Router's impressive range, ease of use, and performance. Many appreciate its strong signal and the generally simple setup process, leading to positive experiences with streaming and overall WiFi quality. However, some users reported occasional connection issues and noted the router's relatively large size. While some experienced improvements in lag, others mentioned problems with the firmware.

    One year warranty - Really?

Router loses wifi connection to all the computers in my house several times a day. I have to power off then on to get it to connect. It's supposed to be warrantied for 1 year but I can't find anyway to get authorization. I fill out there form but it keeps rejecting my passwords. BestBuy no help either.

    Expensive paperweight

I bought this when our Cox modem was taken out by a lightening strike. Nothing but issues...kept dropping wifi every few hours. We had to reset the router multiple times day and night. Netgear was absolutely no help at all and their support is abysmal. One of the most expensive mistakes we've made in a while.

This horrible router keeps rebooting itself and the 5g wifi will just disappear. Seriously do not buy this router. It has given me nothing but troubles

Watch out for the extra labor costs

I have an business Outlook email account, which was negatively affected by our new router. When calling customer service, I find that it's iYogi (in India). The rep and I had different goals. Mine was to make my email work with the router. The rep's goal was to sell me a technical service contract. It's ONLY $150 for a year. Why don't they just charge $350 for the router?

    I got a dud

Range and speeds with this were never great. I should have returned it but we thought some of our speed issues were because of our ISP. We purchased a different router and all issues subsided. I know others rave about this model but mine was a giant disappointment.

    Extremely Disappointed

Due to good reviews (esp from (smallnetbuilder.net) and feature (Time machine for mac users), I tried Netgear R7000.. its a piece of junk..wasted my time for two days.restarting all the time.speed was not at all good when you compare to Asus RT68U esp for 2.4GHZ N and 5 GHZ AC network. Range is also OK. If you need hassle free wifi network I strongly recommend Asus RT68U.

Will not print wireless with Mac

Could not get to print wirelessly with MacBook Air on several computers. Was able to print with MacBook Pro and Dell. NETGEAR Mac Utility would not work with MacBook Air computers. Customer service was substandard and said customer needed to talk to Apple. Customer support was more interested in selling additional support products than fixing the problem.

Dead on arrival, does not work at all. Can not even connect to the routers home page to troubleshoot. Complete garbage, other companies make products that work out of the box, NETGEAR does not.

It constantly drops wifi connection. The 2.4 ghz has very low through put until the router is rebooted. Please be advised that it was updated to the latest firmware. I am very regret to buy it. The issues occur after three weeks of use.

Sad that after 3 years its time for a replacement

This router was great until 5 GHz signal constantly dropped. Solid 2.5 GHz signal and antennas are great for propagation. Only lasted 3 years.

There is a throughput issue with all Netgear

There is a throughput issue with all Netgear routers that they apparently can't fix after two hours on tech support. Don't buy Netgear get the Lynksys, setup in 5 minutes with no issues and I saved 60 dollars to boot!

I called Netgear and despite being under warranty, they said I have to first pay for technical support since it is more than 90 days old. Netgear support was useless. Buy another brand.

    Terrible wifi

Has mediocre wired performance but wifi connectivity is a joke. Goes down much more often than my old router and needs to be reset several times a week. If my PC goes to sleep the Wi-Fi will often stop working.
