With so many devices being used it's awesome that you are able to split the speed of your wifi. The kids are on one and my husband and I are on another. Have no issues and a great investment.

I made the switch, bought my DOCSIS 3 Modem and this router, what a difference in bandwidth and speed over the $10/month rental from the cable company. Night and Day! Blazing speeds now, easy to setup, you can go to your cable provider to identify which one works with their network. Ultimatly stop renting a cable modem your paying a lot of money for cable internet, you need to enjoy it.

So far this router has had really wonderful range on my entire property even though I only live on a quarter acre lot. The 2.4 GHz penetrates the walls on my 1953 home just fine so I can still have Wi-Fi in my garage even though it's at least 200 to 300 ft away. All my smart devices work pretty flawlessly on the network and I don't ever have a drop signal.

We had another, older NETGEAR that was about 6 years old. It kept losing the internet and needed to be reset MANY times a day. This was a step up in speed and simplicity of installation. It only took about 15 min. for a 65+ year old to set up. We've had it for about 2 months with 4 people running at least 10 net connected things (including a custom game computer) with no down time nor slowdowns that I'm aware of.

I have had bad luck with ASUS Routers, so I thought I would give this a try. It is expensive, but seems to work well throughout the entire house with 8 to 10 devices at a time.

I probably wouldn't buy this at its regular price point, but on sale I definitely would again. I had a dead spot in my garage and this router took care of that, could probably get service in the road if I wanted (haven't tried that yet). It really maximizes the speeds you are paying for from your ISP. Kindof like an air traffic controller, this device knows how to direct traffic. If you have a dozens of devices like my household, I'd recommend this router above others.

Well I must say when upgrading my CCTV system to 1080p cameras and upload able to a cloud storage system I was a little sticker shocked when reviewing the needed routers for high performance and HD video uploading. However once I got this router home after the sticker price shock wore off I am very pleased with it. Yes it is expensive compared to a standard typical home router however it's worth every penny. Also a quick comment on the Best Buy employee that was proactive and helped me he was very helpful.

We have already recommended this to our friends and they always love it. It does the job of more expensive brands/models for a good price. We were having issues with lagging with our older router, because we have several iPads, smart tvs, phones, gaming consoles, kids' friends coming over using Wi-Fi, etc. After we purchased this router, no more lagging and it has options for guest using it and we haven't had a problem with strangers being able to get into it.

My previous Netgear router died on me. I wasn't very happy, considering it was only 13 months old. So I decided to go pro and give this router a chance. Trust me: a lot of time and effort went into researching this router. Cisco CCNA complements by technical background, as well as advanced [web] programming/development. I knew what I needed and of course "wanted" from my home router. When I came across this beast (it is fairly large), I was immediately drawn in by the VPN functionality. While this functionality can be slightly daunting to setup if you're not confident with networking gear that isn't encapsulated in some kind of "one-button setup," it's all pretty much self-explanatory. It probably took me around 15 minutes to get it going. The VPN seems to function flawlessly, too. I use remote desktop on my servers on a regular basis and the comparative difference in response time working locally or remotely is next to none. Be aware that if your IP changes, frequently, and you're not using a dynamic-DNS service, the difficulty in maintaining your VPN configuration may be exacerbated. *WARNED* The web GUI is mostly the same, compared to other modern Netgear routers. I'm not exactly thrilled about the overly simplified customization, but I'm also very proficient in Networking technology. In fact, this would probably work very well for those who aren't; which is most likely the target audience, anyway. The wireless is ridiculously fast. The AC spec is around 1.3 Gbps on this router. I personally don't have anything that approaches that speed; over Wi-Fi. I usually like to keep most of my gear wired. I currently have an HD Roku (54 Mbps), wireless Canon printer (54 Mbps), two phones (54 Mbps & 133 Mbps), Nook HD tablet (54 Mbps), Wii (54 Mbps), and two laptops (both 300 Mbps) connected to the wireless at all times. I haven't noticed any performance issues, which I'm sure is a nod to the hardware supporting the router. The biggest issue I had to troubleshoot, for at least a week, was getting my Roku to play nice with the router. The Roku player(s) is very finicky if you don't have the wireless configured a specific way on the A/B/G wireless radio. *Hint* Limit the data rate to 54 Mbps on said radio so your video streaming is at full potential. You'll notice when you don't adhere to this, believe me. The wired switching works as expected, too. I personally prefer wired over wireless whenever I can help it. It cuts down on latency (important to gamers) and I run a few servers that need high network throughput. Honestly, at the rate that Wi-Fi is advancing, latency may not even be that much of an issue, anymore. Regardless, I find the aforementioned to be best practice. To sum it up: I'm very happy with this router and I made sure to get a protection plan on it just in case I had another unfortunate episode of unexpected failure. I would buy another one if I needed to setup a similar environment that was small business-oriented or residential.
