Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Nighthawk X4 AC2350 Smart Wi-Fi Dual-Band Wireless-AC Router's impressive range, ease of use, and strong signal, leading to better performance and reliable streaming. Many appreciate the improved coverage and connectivity it provides throughout their homes. While some find the router expensive and large, positive experiences with setup and a lack of lag outweigh these concerns for most users. A few users reported issues with the firmware, but these seem to be less common than positive reviews.

    Not a well functioning bridge

Bought the r8500 and was so impressed I thought I would replace me Asus AC68u bridge with this. Well... all my devices connected to the bridge showed up as the R7500.. even with the same MAC address in the network map. Then the bridge would not function until a device that was connected to the r7500 was on. For instance rebooted the r8500 and checked the network to make sure everything was correct and couldn't connect to the r7500. only once I turned on a PC\XBOX\PS4 did it appear on the network. I tried everything. Even assigned static IPs. Nothing. I ultimately ended up returning it and put my Asus AC68u back. With functions as an prefect bridge BTW. Maybe this device is a good router but as a bridge I wouldn't recommend

Go this as a second router for my house in the basement. Thing works great and is pretty stylish. Handles pretty much anything a normal household would need. Fast speed and handles multiple devices.

    Nice Router for Wireless Bridging

I bought three of these to create a wireless bridge. I placed the "base" at my cable modem on the main level and then a bridge upstairs and a second bridge down in the basement. It works great with a mix of Windows 10 and Apple systems on the network. We use it for TiVo Minis and Bolts throughout the house.

We have a 2 story house and wifi was not strong on the bottom floor with our last router. With this router our wifi does not have any issues anywhere in the house. Recommend this product.

We were having trouble getting wifi in certain areas of our house. We went to best buy and the guy recommended the Netgear item we purchased. It helped to extend the wifi into the areas that were previously not getting any or much reception. It was clearly a much better product than what we had.

This router is physically located in our lower level (basement) office in a large 3 level house. The router works great in the lower level and main floor and works at about half strength on most of the top floor. A range extender would make it work everywhere but so far it is not a problem.

Couldn't be more pleased. Went from a router/modem combo provided by the cable company that was constantly having problems to this unit. Very happy. Very fast and very reliable

This router is great. Though would be better on the dead spots in the house but I really had to find the best place for everyone and it doesn't reach as good as it states. Got it on sale and satisfied for now.

I recently upgraded my home wireless network and with all the options out there I decided to stick with what I know and purchased this router. Yes, it is expensive but it allowed me to take my repeater out of service for it blanketed my entire home and is blazing fast!

I needed a WiFi router that would reach from my office to another room 75 feet away with enough power to allow excellent Internet reception on our smart TV. We barely get two bars. I would recommend it to others but only if they had a much shorter distance for it to reach.

Recommended by a Best Buy employee. After fighting with DSL problems, slow internet, signal drops etc., I put this to work and after a call with a rep. it works great. I did have to call the help line but the rep was great and after a few set up changes it has worked.

    Needs a Firmware Update

I love Netgear, but cannot support this router, yet.... It was ok out of the box and updated the firmware to the most current at the time. It worked, and was excited to,see what it could do. I have a huge home network so was anxious to set everything up. It was a struggle. Then .82 firmware came out touting fixes for most of the issues I was experiencing. After installing it, things went downhill from there. Periods of serious lag on internet on both wireless and wired, and within my home network, lost DHCP reservation range and generally ready to give up. After days of struggling, .92 came out which I installed immediately! Netgear stated they knew .82 had issues and this would fix them. Wrong! It went from bad to worse! Now I had dropped internet connections on everything. It would also randomly broadcast on 2.4 or 5 wireless, but not both at the same time. I started a chat with tech support and they were not aware of any issues with .92, but after an hour of trying to find issues with everything else they advised me to revert back to .82 which I did. I got back online but am suffering the lag once more. Also I see Netgear has pulled firmware .92 off their support page. I've been patiently waiting for over a week since, thinking they would fix this immediately, but no! I am about to return this joke. I wanted so to like this product, but without working firmware it's a challenge,to tolerate it. I'm waiting Netgear!

Easy setup. Expensive, I happened to get it on sale or probably would not have purchased it. So far Internet connection is good. Not really happy about the performance for the money spent. Love the Genie app.
