I've never spent more than $50 on a router. Was always a big fan of the WRT54GL. But with all the connected devices, and my job allowing me to work from home several days a week and my home Internet service now more than 60Mbps, time for something that can go faster. I picked up a WD from Woot last year but recently it was requiring me (and anyone else connected to it) to reconnect about once an hour or so throughout the day - very annoying. I want something more reliable. I had a Netgear router that I bought from Fry's refurbed for about $20 ten years ago - my first wireless router, and it worked for about a year...sorta. Lots of reboots required. Left a sour taste in my mouth for Netgear. Had great experiences with Linksys though so that's what I really intended to get. But a friend turned me on to these Nighthawk routers from Netgear. He swore by them. Found several other geek friends that also swore by them, so I figured I'd give it a shot. One guy said he had gone a solid year plus without a single reboot. Only had it 48 hours so far, but out of the box, very quick and easy to setup. And not a single reconnect or reboot so far. I have four sons in the house so this thing sees relatively heavy usage from 7am-ish to 10pm-ish every weekday and even later on weekends. We'll see how it holds up and I'll update later.

No issue with dead spots. Previous router had issues with coverage.

i was advised by 2 different best buy workers that this product was top of the line. i was reluctant since it was almost $300. After being convinced i was expecting to have great service all over my house. I can honestly say I have seen "0" improvements after this purchase. Waste of money.

I had to return my new Netgear router to Netgear because of the lack of service at the Brick, NJ Best Buy store (Angelo was the sales associate I bought it from and I ask for him when I called but I was kept on hold for 15 minutes.

Had to exchange twice due to constant drop and unstable of 5g channel. Switched back to the r7000 which also has the same issue but not as frequent.

Replaced old Netgear router but it seems like older router is as fast and more reliable. This router already went down twice and the share function not easy to use.

the modum of my phone company provided better coverage and this unit did not give a signal that extended twenty feet
