AMAZING IMPROVEMENT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My isp is ATT uverse and recently upgrade to 45 download and 5 uplaod (Waiting for the gigapower to be in my area) Time warner offers higher speeds but they tend to go down alot. The router/modem they gave me was brand new and dual band. ATT uvers' top of the line gateway (modem/rotuer) it worked great downstairs but upstairs would get 5-10 downlaod speed over wifi. I got the Nighthawk x4s specifically for better 5ghz speed and range. My house is 4000 sq ft on a half acre lot, has about 30 wifi devices plus guests. usually around 5-10 active at a time. I went from 5-10 mpbs upstairs to 40-55mpbs over wifi! Went from 5-15mps outside to 40-55mps. all the reviews raved on the 5ghz channel and it delivered. Range and Speed are better than i could have asked for. Only draw back is if you are a novice with routers the interface can be confusing if you want to do more advanced setup. If you are somewhat knowledgeable it should be fine for you. They do have a great user manual that can make you into a very knowledgeable person on the subject. Other than that the setup is quick and easy. It is a great router for large homes and I would suggest this router to every one. If you are looking to get the most out of your service and have a large home this is the router for you. Gaming and streaming multiple devices with no buffering or lag.

Great range and speed.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Netgear600. In my 3000 sq ft house, the netgear had trouble reaching 50' and many times it would just disconnect from the net. I had Geek Squad (they recommended this router) install this router and get it fine tuned. Now I have excellent range and speed. I'm paying for 50/6 from cox. With the old router I would usually (at peak) get 21/2. Now I consistently get 55/7 in the hard to reach area.

I can finally experience my high speed internet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded my internet to higher speeds, but noticed that I was not able to reach those speeds. I didn't think of upgrading my router until recently. I was debating between this router and the Netgear X6. Decided on this one because it is newer. The difference between my old router and this one is ten-fold. Finally making the most out of my high speed internet.

More Speed, More Devices, No Compromise.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great buy! I purchased the Netgear - Nighthawk X4s to replace Optimum's faulty router. I'm so glad I did. Simple setup with extra features than a standard router. I'm able to connect more devices without compromising download/upload speeds, as well as increased range. So no matter where I am in my house, I'm always connected.

Totally Impressed!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an awesome router. I selected it due to the Best Buy reviews, and I'm so happy I did so. The range is better than the many routers I've previously purchased. 5GHZ all the way upstairs, where my Linksys router could never reach. This router rocks, my 2 thumbs up recommendation!!!

Able to handle 500Mbps broadband with ease
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Consistently get 540Mbps down over wifi with this router. I've had it for 3 months now and admittedly have had to restart it once, but later found that it was an issue with my xbox and not the router. Range is Phenomenal on both the 2.4 and 5ghz networks.

solid router, good features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.have had for 1 month now, had a dying d-Link 5 year old router. Tried a Linksys, but software was too complicated (I tried to set all my IP addresses on the NEW one, to match the PRIOR router, but power function was screwed up) then bought the NetGear Nighthawk X4S. first, much easier software. Second, was able to change from 192.168.1.x to 192.168.0.x very easily. then, was also able to assign IP addresses easily. software does not take MINUTES to reboot, when changes were made, it was almost instantaneous. also, signal has been very good for wireless. Also, has usb ports (2) for external drives/usb sticks, to share data across the network, and that drive(s) can be seen as ffiles/folders on the computers, so it is easy to add/delete files from the READYSHARE folders. aall in all, very good after 1 month of regular use so far.

Connect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had Netgear routers for several years and continue to be pleased with their products. Wireless is wireless right? I didn't think my signal can be improved in my two story house as I was already using WiFi repeaters to cover the house. This router has allowed me to not only remove the WiFi repeaters, but I have significant improved wireless coverage outside of my home. This router manages our families tablets, cell phones, game systems, and smart TVs with significant connectivity improvement!!! When the family comes over for the weekend, this router handles the added workload like a champ!!!

Had it one day - So Far Amazing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far it works Great! If you are a Verizon Fios customer with internet only that has an ethernet cable running to your Verizon router. You can get rid of the verizon router . I Reset my verizon router to defaults , then unpluged all connection. I pluged internet cable into the X4S and devices and powered up and reset it . after a10-15 mins . it worked ! NO more verizon router . The wifi is great . 5GHZ and 2.4 Ghz . So far its great . I hope i don't have to come back and revise.

Great Future Proof Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been a really good reliable router for me. I would say the range is maybe not what I thought it would be, but it covers my 3 bedroom house easily. The web interface offers a lot of flexibility and advanced configuration options and it's pretty easy to use, but coming from the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi interface I don't think it's quite as good. The Genie app is okay, but I ended up uninstalling it because it doesn't seem that useful. These are all very minor points and the router itself works great. I don't think anything I have is MU-MIMO compatible, but that will be the case for most people. When more MU-MIMO clients start showing up I think this router will really show its benefits.

Solid
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lasted us a long time, and when it was out, it was one of the best you could get. Unfortunately outdated and struggles to give the bandwidth demanded from modern devices.

Outstanding Performance!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced an Airport Extreme purchased in 2013 with this router and see a significant increase in speed. Two MacBooks and an iMac connected plus two Android phones and a Ring Doorbell Pro. Wireless speed is 4 to 5 times faster depending on time of day. Set up was easy...no issues. I highly recommend this product.

So far so good...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the netgear nighthawk x4s because my old gateway didnt have the range needed for my upstairs ps4 console. Now I got the range needed. My TV upstairs however doesnt play netflix smoothly so not sure if its the router or the TV wi fi capabilities itself thats the issue. Might get a range extender to see if it helps.
