Very pleased
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not even remotely knowledgeable about routers, but the guy at Best Buy most visibly was... he explained the various merits of assorted routers and I chose the Netgear Nighthawk X6. More than I needed, but I wanted a little future-proofing. GeekSquad set it all up and it works great. I'm now able to stream and no longer need the Wi-Fi signal booster I previously used to get the signal from the old router in my office through to the other side of the house. I can't speak towards how easy it is to set up yourself, but the GS guy had it running in no time at all and I'm very glad I made the upgrade.

Top notch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although this is the (al)most expensive option around, I can say it's been a great product. It's been rock solid since I bought it, even after a firmware update. Great range even through the exterior wall of a house. The only glitch I had is the default setup is for 2 single 5Gz bands and changing that to be the dynamic setup with only one network name forced all my devices to relearn the network connection. Have not had to contact customer service this time around, which is good as that would easily take 1 or 2 stars off based off of prior experience. I did consider the top dog Asus router but BB didn't carry it and there was a great sale on this Netgear.

Much better router!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router is more expensive than the others but works much better. Definitely worth the investment if you are having difficulty receiving a signal. I still think price is a little too high though....

Top gun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had no idea a router could be this fast. I get 123 Mbps to my modem, and I get 123 Mbps all through my house on multiple devices. It was fast and easy to set up.

Everything I expected.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product was very well received by reviewers in publications and all types of sites. Everywhere I looked, it was a top pick. Best Buy had the best price. Setup was quick and painless. I have set up routers before and have not had a better experience than with this router. The NETGEAR software is a real pleasure to use. I created a bookmark for the 2 non geek's browsers and they have access to the router's settings they didn't imagine as possible. My household has 5 PCs: 2 WiFi printers, 3 WiFi capable mobile phones, 2 Roku Sticks, and an Amazon TV box. They're all very happy with the new NETGEAR Nighthawk. And the people are too!

Solid router with good speed and bandwidth
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router has exceeded my expectations. In short, this router enables my family to enjoy internet gaming and movies without having to constantly tweak router connectivity settings (which is fun, but only for a little while, and then it becomes a headache). I was debating between this and the ASUS RT-AC87U. I settled on the Netgear router because of the lower price and firmware stability. I set this router up, plugged in a USB 3.0 External drive, and I have had no problems streaming movies (Vudu or Netflix) in one room while my kids are playing Witcher 3 in the other room. The Netgear Genie software is a nice touch too-when I just want answers and don't want to tweak any settings. The Smart Connect setting parses wireless traffic using both 5 Ghz channels as a single connection. I was dubious about this and suspected I would need to have two separate 5 Ghz SSIDs along with the third 2.4Ghz SSID in order to get the connectivity I wanted (a dedicated SSID for the kids and a dedicated SSID for movies). It turns out that Smart Connect not only manages this transparently behind the scenes but it does it dynamically, so if the kids are gaming on multiple PCs and I'm not watching movies, the traffic gets parsed between the two 5 Ghz channels with no effort on my part. I haven't had to deal with any QOS prioritizing either which is nice.

Great Upper Price Range Router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having recently installed this router as a replacement for our old NetGear Range Max, this far exceeded our expectations. With new technology coming online frequently, this router is able to handle all of the internet devices that we have in our home. It is quick and delivers near the range advertised by our service providers, the old one did not. Set-was easy and straight forward, definitely very happy with this router.

Excellent, Powerful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Moving from a single-band g-based Wi-Fi trying to manage > 15 devices (poorly) to a tri-band AC device has been transformational. My network is faster, the devices are faster, the signal is stronger. The guest accounts let friends and family use the Wi-Fi without compromising my network is excellent. Easy setup. NAS applying UNIX permissions to files is a problem on a Windows network but the web interface is nice.

Gets the job done
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router was probably the fastest one I've owned. We had multiple devices connected to the internet and it was still running at sufficient speed regardless of the bandwidth.

Best router ever purchased
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this router for almost 2 weeks now and so far it has been excellent. I'm not new to routers or networking quite the contrary. I am also a gamer, this router does the job and much, much more. I have about 13-15 devices connected and in a house of plaster walls (which is one of the worst walls to penetrate with a signal). Make the choice and get this joker. Get the extra protection as well, just in case. Keep in mind that this is an investment and you don't want to keep purchasing $300+ routers

Great internet router and Wifi range
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was looking to upgrade my internet router. Decided to try a Tri-Band router, best choice. This router is fast and with the extra band it covers more of my house (especially in the 5GHz band).

Fast router, easy setup
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this to replace a router that died after 5 years of use. The Nighthawk was easy to set up and very fast. We have been surprised by the range of WIFI coverage: a good strong signal anywhere in the house and even outside on the deck. I can even get a weak signal and connection 200 feet away in the yard.
