Very skeptical....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.8000: I was very afraid to get this... as I did a ton of reading and reviews. I bought this, brought it home set it up. Everything seemed to work fine... It soon asked for a firmware update... but after I did the update, it broke!! It basically said firmware is damaged... so I had to return it to the store. (Different review - 8500) After more reviews I decided to spend MORE money and get the 8500. Figured, heck- I got nothing else to lose. If this one goes bad too, I'll just stick to the lower AND GOOD routers. GLAD I GOT THE 8500! I Upon installation, and setup, asked for firmware update too. Scared, but did it- and it went with no issues. Almost a month now, and the 8500 just had to be restarted twice. Again, as for the 8000, I had bad issues with it... maybe just my luck. I've heard bad issues with some folks too with the 8500, so just be warned that you might get a bad experience too with either or! I'd stick with the older versions of the 7000 series if I had to choose to spend equal or less value from this one.

Excellent wi fi router

Solid Router

My old 6-year-old N700 was still working fine, but was unable to handle all the WiFi streaming demands of my family. I gave it to a coworker who is happy with it. This new beast handles everything I throw at it without a hiccup. The intuitive web interface makes it easy to configure any special settings, and view current network statistics.
