Easy setup. Fast connections. Only bad side is when you do the smart connect feature which makes all three bands into one and the router automatically connects you to the fastest connection, it sometimes loses connection and doesn’t reconnect without having to reinput the WiFi password. Other than that it does what it’s intended for

A pretty good router over all. Was probably an overkill for me. For 10 wireless devices, I really don’t need tri-band. A little disappointed at the speed and distance that it transmits. Actually think my R7000 was a little faster. Would probably recommend a different model to a friend or family member.

This router has great security measures and is very easy to setup.

Purchased in late January, but this device keeps failing. Since disconnected wifi means disconnected home security system, I asked them to replace the unit, but after below back and forth communication, they still rejecting to make the replacement. First failure: Mid-February. Reboot they system 2nd failure: Late-February. Reset to factory default and reboot 3rd failure: Mid-March: Contacted customer service and followed below instruction: 1. Go to BASIC > Wireless. 2. Change the channel of the 2.4 and 5 GHz. For the 2.4 GHz, change it from auto to 11. For the 5 GHz, change it to the highest channel. 3. Hit APPLY to save the changes. If wired is also disconnecting, reduce the MTU size: 1. Go to ADVANCED > Setup > WAN Setup 2. From default size of 1500, change it to 1484. 3. Hit APPLY to save the changes. and reboot 4th failure: Late March: Contacted customer service and followed below instruction: since the firmware is updated, we will re-flash the firmware instead. This is manually uploading the same firmware to the router. Go to this link and download the firmware; https://kb.netgear.com/000061164/R8000-Firmware-Version-1-0-4-46 After the download, unzip and save the file to a computer. To manually upload the file to the router, connect a computer wired to it and follow the steps below: 1. Login to routerlogin.net via web browser. The username is always "admin" (without quotation mark) and cannot be changed. The default password is "password" (without the quotation mark). The username and password are case-sensitive. If you happen to change the password during the setup together with the security questions and answers, use it to login. Or if that did not work, try your default WiFi password as the password. 2. Go to ADVANCED > Administration > Firmware/Router Update 3. Click the Browse button. 4. Find and select the saved firmware on your computer. The file is .chk or .img. 5. Then upload the file and wait for the router to finish the update. After the re-flash, reboot the router and the modem by powering them off for 2 minutes, then turn them back on. They still refuse to replace this device by saying "I apologize for the inconvenience caused, and I understand that. But before we replace every router, we need to isolate the issue and exhaust the possible troubleshoooting. If the device doesn't improve after those troubleshooting, we can definitely replace the router. OK, so now many troubleshooting that I have to go through before they replace this device? Every time this device fails, our home security goes down. And this could happen while we are out of town.

I absolutely LOVE this product. After getting low quality Wi-Fi from the local cable company, I decided to purchas my own router. One of the best benefits of this router is you can switch to 5G if you find that your applications are running slow. I havehadno problems with this router.
