    Haven’t I spent enough already?

It seems like a great product, but then you realize that Netgear wants you to spend more money at the very least on Netgear Armor to continue to get full functionality out of the product. They also want you to use their own antivirus software that I’ve never heard of, and of course there’s a subscription for that service as well. The router tries to be intuitive, but it named my Keurig coffeemaker as a Murata washing machine. I tried to change the name, but it wasn’t that easy. I kept getting an error message when I tried to save the name. I had to go on Netgear’s community website, where someone found you have to change the icon first before it will allow you to rename a device. Apparently there used to be more icons (none for appliances available), but Netgear just deleted the ones that were causing problems. I purchased this router to replace an older Netgear router, but was still having the same connectivity problems. I’m not a big tech guy and all the different platforms make it all the more complicated. There is Genie, Nighthawk, Armor, Bitdefender (the antivirus program), and now Orbi. Trust me, just go to Nightgear’s community page and search “change device name” just to see how much of a problem it is. I tried to contact Netgear a couple times before referring to the community site, but could never get a hold of a live person. I decided to return it and got a great deal on an Asus router. I’m having much fewer connection problems that last for shorter periods, but I suspect the main problem may be with my internet service provider’s modem.

Needed to replace old router of several years and this one has not disappointed us yet. We have multiple devices connected with no issues and security is awesome.

After trying numerous efforts to boost my wifi signal, (3 Story home) , replacing the router was what was needed. I was skeptical about spending this much, but it has paid off!! Excellent product!

Set-up was challenging - documents incomplete - contact with Netgear was NO help - had to contact Best Buy Geek Squad to complete the set-up. Good job Geek Squad. Netgear technical support is incompetent.

Gives me a "good" signal throughout my entire 3k sqft home. Easy enough to install. That app is amazing! So glad I could change the WiFi name/password to my old name/pw! Saved me spook much time.

Some say that the router does not make your internet faster, but I have at least 30 devices connected to this router, and it works much faster!

Great 5G speeds within a reasnoable proximity to router and 2.4G also very good further afield. With my prior modem and router I needed a booster to get Netflix on the upstairs SMART TV, now I don't

Replaced a Netgear 12. Had to constantly re-set. Not enough bandwidth in the 12. This router has three channels 15 devices on this one so far.

I was having issues with my old wireless router with dead spots all over my 1600 sq ft house. This router not only hits those spots but with plenty of signal strength to spare

We bought this router for the upper level of our house. Kids were complaining the WiFi was weak in their room. As soon as we installed this router, our troubles were over! Now, we have WiFi everywhere!

Issues with keeping a wifi connection.

Bought this due to older Netgear router dropping wifi connection. Have same issue with this device. Cable company checked speeds directly from modem and were really high. Once connected to this router, speeds slowed to about a fourth of the modem speeds. Checked firmware updates and all looks to be current. Not sure what to try next. Ended up signing up for unlimited data with cell phone carrier so we would not get extra charges due to our wifi connection dropping and having to come off wifi to get mail and go onto internet.

Bought this as we have for kids and on Regular Charter Router we laged all the time. Now everyone can get on the WiFi all at once and we barley lag at all

We purchased the router because we needed a router that could handle all our devices when connected. The router works great with our devices (several playstations, amazon fire sticks, tablets, etc).

I live in an area where wifi can be spotty. Since purchasing the Nighthawk, my wifi has been wonderful. We have many devices at once using it and it does not lag or work slower like it used to. Love it!

Liked everything about it, except didn't have strong enough signal in 2-story house at the farthest end. Exchanged for Netgear Orbi, which resolved that, albeit for more $.

Have seen faster download since installing this router. The real test will be when the neighbors come back this fall and start using it also since we share the connection
