i have always had Linksys routers. i have had at least 15 routers, and extenders for upstairs. i have noticed they sometimes drop and upstairs i get a very slow performance. this time i went with netgear r8000. let me tell you without a doubt this router is superb. took me 15 to setup and even added some static routes and static IPs to various devices. all of that was a breeze. needless to say i no longer need any boosters / extenders as the netgear is faster all over. before installed i took some readings with my Linksys and then after installing the netgear took same tests, and the netgear reached so much further, and was 5 times faster all throughout my home and even out by the pool. purchase this router, you will not be disappointed.

I have extensive experience setting up wireless routers and have never encountered such complexity as I have with this router. I ended up calling the help desk and after waiting ~30 minutes, the help desk person talked me through a setup that was unusual and not documented in the instructions. Other issue is our devices took a very long time (15-60 seconds) to connect to the router with a few devices taking 2 minutes. I returned it and purchased the ASUS 3100 which was very easy and connected < 2 seconds.

Not extremely impressed with it so far. I was wrong told that it is the "Cadillac" of routers...... Not seeing it yet. 20ft away from it and still only gets 1 bar of data transmission. ...

the 5G looses connection or slows down and have to reset it often the non 5G never has an issue and since my internet connection is only 100 mbs i just use that

I really am not a high tech know it all but purchased this router in hopes of helping my connection in distant bedrooms and to support multiple devices. It really is off and on as far as staying connected to wifi in bedrooms. I was hoping for the price I paid to get a much more rapid connection from a distance. It works great a room away but the further I get away from the actual router, it doesn't stay connected like I prefer. I hate to be negative but I wish I hadn't spent the amount of money this router cost.

The setup for this product is a bit difficult and I need it tech support. However, I waited an hour on the phone before I was able to speak with a tech specialist.

This Route works okay, but needs to be reset relatively frequently. It does not balance bandwidth availability to demand as well as you would expect for the price.

Couldn't get this product to work. Called best buy and net gear. Net gear told me all my equine t had virus. Both best buy and net gear wanted 100.00 to fix the problem...

3 bands is a plus however it struggles to keep connections Alive in the ac bands. 2.5 ghz connection is rock solid.. Also QOS doesn't work that great. Not that great for the price

Switch from Asus due to defect. Not as big of range and the parental controls are flaking sometimes-have to restart router. Ovreall, accomplishes it's purpose.

This product works fine, but I was hoping it would have given us better range than my last router. Just has some weak spots in our 2-story.

We purchased this unit because we needed better range and signal. This unit has done nothing to improve our network, in fact, the provided modem/router from our internet company worked better than this unit. I do not recommend this unit. I have 10 Netgear Arlo wireless cameras on it, my sons PS4 unit and my wifes videoconferencing work computers on it, so it is tested thoroughly with absolutely no better coverage with this unit. Do not waste your money, you will that me for saving you $$$$!

I have gigabit internet and I was getting half the speed. Upgrading firmware made it drop the speed even lower. I had to downgrade to a very old firmware to get full speed but now a lot of my wifi devices like google mini don't work. I have had so many problems that I want to smash the router and buy a new one.

It’s great when it actually works but the biggest issue is the drop speeds as mentioned by others.

I was having fibre internet installed so purchased this give a signal covering the entire house. The installer spent 15 minutes online and could not get this to connect. It my be a great product if you can connect it. Went with a tp-link Archer A6 works great, get a connection in my summer house 70 feet away feet away on my new MacBook Air 13.3 M1

I bought this as an upgrade to my cable service equipment. Hasn’t been any better or any worse than the original. Just poor internet service.

Bought the X6 thinking it would be outstanding for what I wanted to use it for. Just myself with and XBox S and X, laptop, and my phone. The wireless worked outstanding for about a week, and then suddenly got sporadic. Losing signal throughout the day. Wired of course works phenomenally. Just wish updating the software, or resetting the router actually did something. Going to see what a new one with the replacement plan will do before I try something new.

OK router. Not as good as expected. Very easy to setup but don't get the range I was hoping for.

I like the ability to allot different strengths to different devices, but when I want to take the laptop into a different room.... it doesn't get wifi.

It did not reach range that had been reported in reviews, had to buy another router to extended range needed, have to reset modem and router to often.
